The only plausible story for this to be a reality would result in a civil war, not a terrorist attack. To infiltrate the military and police like that, it would have to be a split view on policies.

It was a fun action flick, but yeah that was a little - too much. The terrorists had basally full control over the majority of London Police and multiple thousand men deployed in the city. British Military opted to not intervene even though the Prime Minister got murdered and US-President was under direct attack. They didn't sent a single Black Hawk in to protect Marine 1 and 2 and only deployed about a 100 SAS for a rescue mission for the US-President.

I wondered about that when watching this movie, too. And how many normal police officers would be mistaken for terrorists by other cops and Secret Service.

How do they keep finding more secret service agents? In the first movie, they were all wiped out. And then this. Don't forget the next movie as well. The only secret service agent who survives is Mike Banning.

To everyone questioning the logic as to how the infiltration could be so widespread; In the movie the US strikes the family of one of the wealthiest criminal organizations, causing the surviving father and brothers of the family to vow that they will have their revenge. They in turn use all of their wealth, resources, influence and manpower to orchestrate a plot spanning *several years in the making* which includes planting its members in London's metropolitan police and the royal guard, posing as policemen and conscripts, respectively. Now, the logic might not still be 100% but given that they spent literal years of their lives to enact this plot it makes a *little bit* more sense. Anyways, knowing that striking at POTUS inside the US would be suicide the plot called for the death of a political leader somewhere else knowing that if the country was allied with the US then POTUS would have to be present for the funeral- which itself was rushed so that security forces didn't have enough time to properly vet and prepare their staff.

Do you have any idea how much the US spends on intelligence gathering, counter intelligence, etc plus all of its allied nations? It’s lunacy that a wealthy criminal organization could plan such an elaborate plot without any word getting out. It involves literally thousands of people & highly regulated weaponry. If spending years & tons of money could accomplish such a thing then the US & other countries would have fallen a long time ago. In reality even if they could pull off the initial attack the military would have moved in & declared martial law. The military isn’t for show & once you had the leaders of countries dying or under threat everyone would be called in.

@@Rushinator1 Oh yes, for sure, I don't mean that an attack of such a scale as the one in the movie would be possible in countries such as the US, UK, France or Germany (because of military and civilian intelligence, policing and surveillance) but it's not *that* out there either. For starters, we saw what greed and widespread corruption couple with low morale did to the ISAF effort in Afghanistan with a majority of ANA and ANP unable to root the Taliban. Secondly, in the UKs case you have plenty of second generation immigrants in low-income areas that absolutely can be targeted and turned by fierce propaganda, something we saw with the rise of ISIS. Thirdly, immense wealth and influence can accomplish a great deal. Imagine if someone like Bezos/Musk/Gates wanted to use their wealth for bad, hm? I don't think you quite grasp what they could actually get away with much less perpetrate if they want.

@@viperactual6036 Well, Maybe. But lots of money movement and lots of weapon movement will be picked up. Quite frankly its not just about the people who are already indoctrinated and placed in their place.. its all the people selling, logistics and the thousands of bytanders. I mean loading up the belltower with explosives would need people to do it secretly, hide the chargers and triggers in a way that noone can find it by accident during routine maintenance... etc. I mean don't get me wrong, money can do a lot of things, but humans are terrible at keeping secrets, especially en mass. and i have the feeling that if the secret service could not do proper vetting and preping for the president to travel abroad... they would not let the president to travel. They would send the vice president, or the secretary of the state or someone... for the exact reason: if they can do the prep work they wont rush into travelling with a "that will do" attitude. So while Bezos could pontetially up to no good, he would either have to "trust" the people keeping their mouth shut or end up killing all which would also leave an equally large trail. as for Isis and taliban and other organisations> they are sponsored and were sponsored by various governments around the world... so them having the power to take on local governments is not that of a "surprise" to anyone... and certainly not the level this action sequence would do :) btw: i get it its a movie, but my point is exactly that: its a movie, in real life this would not work - no wonder that the only successful assasination attempts were carried out by individuals (as in not a large group with thousands of people, but one single person walking up to the victim and doing the "job" ... the fewer the people, the lesser the target on the back of your evil-enterprise.

It took them way to long to being to move the President to the car, those terrorists dollowed the plot armour clause so well. Also they had no chance of driving out of there, they shiukd have gone it to the Cathedral and locked it down. Old building, thick walls made out id blocks of rock, they could have hold up in there for long enough for the cavalry to arrive.

This is the cause of the IRA this is why terrorists should be negotiated with, and stopped before they cause such violence. I just wonder how did they manage to get men into the London police and ambulance services and the royal guards etc, it’s crazy. I remember this attack happening I was 6 but I seen it in tv, RIP to those who lost their lives, especially my uncle Robert who was a Seargant in the London Police he was shot and killed trying to save a child caught in the massacre, May they all Rest In Peace, and God bless their souls
