Today we are sitting down with one of the greatest Running Backs to ever touch the field as 2x SuperBowl Champion and Hall of Famer, Terrell Davis.
In a moving conversation covering everything from his strict upbringing, the adversity he faced on the gridiron, and reflecting on the key moments that have been pivotal in building him into the man he is today, Terrell proudly shares his trials and tribulations with the world.
Following the recent surge of research and acceptance of CBD’s health benefits for athletes, Davis launched Defy, a CBD-infused sports drink company designed for athletes. Known for winning big at the Beverage Digest 2022 Awards, Terrell reflects on how his perception has completely changed and the mission of the company.
Reflecting, Ryan asks Terrell about his father’s parenting and strict upbringing. From being the youngest of six children and always seeking approval from his father, Terrell struggled with
understanding if his dad loved him. He speaks about his father's extreme parenting tactics and even walks Ryan, Fred, and Channing through the moment his father shoots a gun over their heads.
Although Terrell wouldn’t parent that way today, he shares his ability to see the positive in what the world would consider negative parenting of his father.
Seeking ways to appease his father, Terrell took a liking to football because he knew his father enjoyed the contact of the game. He shares candid stories about dominating on the field at a young age but his turning point was the passing of his father because the reason he started playing was no longer present. No stranger to adversity, TD talks about the struggles he faced in his collegiate and rookie seasons and the conversations he had internally to change it around.
Oh, how the tables have turned! Terrell takes the time to give Fred Taylor his flowers and says he believes Fred was the most skilled Running Back to ever touch the field. High regards from someone Fred considered a role model, they take their time to discuss the HOF criteria. Of all his accomplishments, Terrell still wonders if he’s made his father proud.

It's not up to the players it's them white journalists and the league owners. The players know how great Fred was it's time for those who have been inducted to take over who gets in. The NFL is a legal slave owned business until the white old racist owner dies it's business as usual

Every major industry with public interest has a whole industry of those who critique it and analyze it as their profession. Actors don't vote for oscars, writers/critics do. Chefs don't date restaurants, food reviewers do - and on and on. It's retarded that people want players voting for themselves, especially since most players are retarded and can barely articulate a coherent thought. The people who get paid to follow this stuff professionally and look at every possible detail should be the ones who vote on things. Whether we always agree with them or not.

`Terrell Davis stories on his upbringing rings true with me, not as crazy, but similar in parental toughness and harshness towards their kids, especially the boys. I was born and raised in Jamaica, and if anyone is familiar with Jamaican upbringing, from both parents, moms and pops, it can be brutal at times. This is why I enjoy the/Piv0t podcast so much, the relatable stories of its guests. Some of them so surreal. Another GEM.

Great interview, I love the ones where you guys interview guys who y’all looked up to or guys you played with. Troy or MJD would be insane

The reason I fell in love with American Football was TD. My first ever superbowl watching at home in Ireland with my brother, who was a packer fan kept on going on about Favre. I said 30 for Denver is the best player on the field. My favourite player of all time by a long way. I got his jersey but my sister stole it for her boyfriend

I don’t think ppl and especially Ryan understand the greatness of what TD said at the end of the video. He said he only played one way! Smh. Always give 101 percent!

I love how Freddie T knows he’s that dude. I agree. There is no telling what Fred Taylor would have done with another franchise. Especially one that put a premium on running the ball and obtaining offensive linemen. He’ll always be the best Jaguar player in ever.

I only saw "Terrell" and clicked expecting to see Owens. Of course, he did the other show. It was cool. When Terrell Davis walked in I felt like a fan and I am fanning now. Big respect! Dope!
