It's not Next Friday, but it is this Friday! That's right, we made a trip to the West Side to sit down with the legend O'Shea Jackson better known as Ice Cube.
Ryan, Channing and Fred visit Cube in his studio as they go down memory lane from the infamous movies, to the songs to the commercials to everything that make O'Shea Jackson an icon in the entertainment and business world. We get into the lessons of growing up in the industry, staying off the streets, to getting into film and music, to being a father, to entrepreneur and his passion for starting the Big3 League.
Cube shares how his vision for the BIG3 was to create a league for basketball to live on beyond the NBA giving the game's past and future legends a chance to be apart of a sport they love while still making a living doing it. He expresses his frustration with the NBA's lack of support and says that this could be a stain on the legacy of Adam Silver for not helping this organization be successful.
Fred asks about maintaining business relationships and always being on the up and up while Ryan gets into any of the controversial movements Cube has been associated with as he explains why it's important for him to treat all people the same no matter the title or affiliation because at the end of the day it's about progress not perfection.
Of course the conversation is filled with some laughs and memorable stories that will have you talking for days as we go inside the life of a legend who's impacted the culture more ways than we can count.
Tap in every Tuesday at noon eastern for our premiere episode of the Pivot. Special seasonal drops on Friday afternoons at 3:30 pm. We are your one-stop platform for all your sports and entertainment content. Stay tuned for updates on upcoming Pivot special episodes!

Cube just said something awesome… he said he doesn’t get how the NBA thinks his league is they’re competition… that proves that at times “them folk” know more about our potential than we do. They know that if somebody as influential as Ice Cube starts a league with African Americans at the center it will become absolutely successful very quickly!

Much respect to Ice Cube and the Big 3 organization. The NBA cannot afford your concept to be successful. However, they cannot stop your concept due to its being already sucessful and people know the players in the Big 3 program will do their part in ensuring its success. With venues inplace to advertise your program KEEP MOVING FORWARD. We will support whenever and wherever we can.

The Big3 is so necessary, it’s the ultimate transition into retirement. So many benefits to this league, especially at a time when players are at the most challenging moments in their lives. Many players search to find themselves while figuring out what’s next. Mentally, emotionally, these guys can transition into a place they can thrive. Adam Silver should get onboard and support these efforts in some sort of capacity. Ice Cube is on to something

The realest thing Cube said was "Make the most of your opportunities". Doing everything to the best of your abilities truly is what opens additional doors. I'm from the GUTTER (mom shot and killed dad, foster care, lived in cars, you name it). I only have a GED, and spent from 14-26 doing landscaping. I did it WELL. At 26, I got a job working for Crystal Springs water delivery company. 6yrs in, I won Route Sales Rep of the year for the entire company. The next year, I was promoted to management, and received 2 more promotions in the following 4yrs. Fast forward to today, and I'm the Chief Operating Officer for the firm I work for now (which came from a relationship I formed at Crystal Springs). I never dreamed that a forgotten foster kid would become a comfortable 6 figure earner with equity in the company I run. Hard work wins in the long run. We have power to forge our own paths 💯

Cube wouldn't be sitting here today as one of the greatest to ever do it had he not left NWA. You just could see NWA on the verge on breaking up when money disputes took place. Cube felt he wasn't getting his fair share and he split from the group. Even Dre was getting more than him and Dre was their DJ and producer at that time not a rapper.

Ice Cube is my entire childhood!!! So proud of this brother’s growth. These are the type of rappers that the youth should look up to. Never heard of Cube having baby mommas lying around, no hard drugs and sippin syrup. I miss that generation so much.
