You are lucky. I have termites in Africa that eat live trees, especially guava...

I live in a residential area in Thailand. Before we had a big wood in this residential area. There were a lot of thermites nests in this wood but they never came to the house. Then anybody bought the land, cut all the tree and everything in the land. Then top up the land with around 1.5 meter of bad soil everybody use here to build house on. Some month many houses in the area became infested by thermite. I believe that since the area who were living in the wood didn't have food anymore they all moved to houses around. Now we had no choices to spray poison in the house and in the land close to the house. This is the only solution we were able to find here in Thailand. I don't even know what did they spray because the workers who sprayed the poison didn't know it themselves or didn't want to say. Now part of my land because unusable for crops since I don't want to take a risk to plant vegetables in this poison that I know nothing about. They still spray this poison, every month for over a year. We have a concrete floor, a big one actually that spread around at least 2 meters around the house and 10 meters in other parts. That was not enough. It's like they come through the floor and attack all the wood parts in the house like the doors, the plinths, the furniture that is not made of hard wood...etc. I have a lot of trees in my land so when i cut some branches I make some piles at the end of the land. Hoping the thermites will love it, make their house their and leave the house in peace.... I am not really sure it works though.
