Tent Inside Tent Solo Winter Camping in Deep Snow - Wood Stove, Hot Tent

Ойын-сауық

Hello everyone. I'm here with a fun winter camp. I camped in a deserted place, in deep snow. This tent camp was a little different. I set up my little tent inside a big tent and lit a wood stove in the big tent. It was snowing when I started camping, then it slowed down and stopped. The air temperature was around -5. The small stove warmed the inside of the tent. I lit a campfire outside and ate my dinner outside. After drinking my evening tea, I went to sleep. I had a nice night. I couldn't shoot everything, but because I ran out of wood at night, I went and cut wood. I haven't had such an enjoyable camp in a long time. I hope you guys enjoy watching too. Thanks for watching. #wintercamping, #hottent, #advanture

yup thats how i roll. a 10 man tent with a 2 man tent inside with reflective tarps draped over the smaller tent with a 2 person sleeping bag draped over the top of the reflective tarp to keep the heat in the small tent. works like a charm

You couldn't just throw a sleeping bag on top of the smaller tent without that nice dead air space created by the bigger tent. This way, the little tent is in no danger from wind or wet.

Used to do that 25+ years ago. My parents had a caravan. They and my older sister slept in the van, my brother and I inside an old 3 person tent, inside the awning attached to the caravan. This tent was no longer waterproof, but fine inside the awning. We didn't go on trips in winter, but in spring n autumn, we would also put a big blanket over the tent to keep heat in and we used a paraffin storm lantern for heat n light.

I think certain groups in the Russian Far East do this. I believe that he tents are felt and the ground cover is topped with fur. The sleepers only wear warm pajama-type clothes. Don’t even need blankets usually.

Same as sleeping in a sleeping bag inside the tent, or having a rain-fly. Just that you have more enclosed space with a larger tent.

Looks stupid, just use a clear plastic sheet towards the stove and a reflective sheet towards the tent. Way cheaper and way, way, way more heat retention.

@@wildcard2192 You are talking about "Mors Kochanski Super Shelter" inside big tent, long waves pass through clear plastic are are retained just like a car heats up when long waves pass through car windows and cannot escape. Could be 90 degrees outside and a closed up car can reach 140 degrees due to long waves. Cracking windows doesn't work because longs waves cannot escape small opening fast enough, still builds up heat. All car doors would have to be open to neutralize long waves and maintain consistent temperature.

This has been my thought for quiet some time. I keep seeing people in big tents thinking your going to freeze trying to keep that thing warm. With a tent inside a tent you get the best of both worlds. Of course there is that part about carrying two tents. Lol
