I think the homeless need equipment more mate

Your thoughts on the homeless people, that you speak about, are abserlutely spot on, mate. Weather or not they are homeless by choice or not, is irrelevant, because no one has the right to destroy someone else's belongings. And personally, I would say that most homeless people are 'victims of circumstance', and in my very humble opinion, you and your daughter are doing an excellent thing, in donating your excess camping equipment to those that really need it and to those that will really appreciate it. Not all homeless people are druggies and alcoholics, some are there through absolutely no fault of their own, so good on ya for helping them out :-) I love your videos, keep them coming!!

Yeah your right I'm homeless I'm writing this from my rubbish wet tent now I'm not a druggy etc I'm homeless with a tumor and a dog and council accept me homeless but won't give me temporary accommodation with my dog and believe me I'm freezing tonight I'm glad you are understanding 👍

Dan, what a lovely man you are. I am in my 60's now but I really enjoy watching your camping escapades. What a great idea to give to those in desperate need. I watched your video, if you remember in lockdown and you slept in your garden. Tears rolled down my face when you shared your food with that beautiful dog of yours. I loved the fact that you feel no shame saying you live on a council estate, I too live on a council estate in Manchester and I was born into the house I still live in. Please keep filming your adventures I love them and I know the homeless people who benefit from your camping gear will appreciate it so much. Don't ever lose that lovely caring nature you have and your love for nature too. I found it funny that you were cooking meat and camping next to a vegan 🤣, so sorry vegan Dan x

It's always good to show kids that some people live different life .

Folk are having a hard time of it right now, you do right Dan lad. I were shocked to see a young family on the street in Preston City centre and they seemed in a bad spot. I got em food and a happy meal for their kids. Sadly I couldn't help them any further.

My friend and I, back when we were teenagers, went to the store, they were stalking the CD’s and had a bin with those security tags. We grabbed a handful and walked around the store sticking them to shoppers and employees. Then got a coffee and waited. 😂

Really down to earth video Dan. Well done. You and daughter are very good give the homeless your spare camping gear. You are dead right that you don;t need to spend a lot of money in order to go camping. I'm going on 75 years of age, and all I do is load up my bike with my cheap camping gear and head for the hills. Thank you and Stay Safe.

Having a generous spirit is a great reward in itself. Just this week, we hit another time when donating to working people (or even older folk like ourselves) was important. We increasingly need less and others still lack for vocational education funds, food for the family, furniture, and the like. As for those 'tossers' that can't stand the thought of (we call 'almoners') Homeless folk living in their communities, 'tis no cause for destroying what little they have...some of which was given by folk like myself out of friendship and general goodwill.

I've known many people who've been on and off the streets and it's not as black and white as they want to be there. Many of them have never known anything but chaos, violence and drugs, they've never known normality. People who've a good stable upbringing have got no idea how important that is and they shouldn't judge what they don't understand. Well done to you mate anyway, it's a good thing you did.

Nice one Dan. Giving camping stuff to the homeless is great. I was shopping the other day and there was a homeless person outside a shop front that had closed down. I bought her a coffee and a some food. I think it’s more important to give what they can use rather than cash. great video thanks 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺👍👍

Dan for basic kit I use a tarp, roll mat sleeping bag, liner all in a bivvy bag. I bought ex military so civvy ones would be cheaper, but it does me for three seasons I just need to buy better clothes for a winter camp.

Ah a Bradford lad. I was born in Bradford and have a lot of family still living there. We had a married couple who lost their jobs and home during the lockdown and they were living in a tent during the Winter. The wife left the tent and committed suicide and the husband tried after finding his wife's body but he failed. Thank you for your humanity, no-one deserves to be homeless.

Hi Dan. Luv your channel. I have a suggestion, so that you don't forget anything. I have a laminated equipment list for type of camp that I do and tick off the gear as I pack it. I have an awful memory and this has helped me not to forget items I need for my trips.

Simon on the streets are a great charity based around Bradford who will make sure any gear gets to people in need. Might be worth contacting them if you haven't already. Another great video and a brilliant example to your children. All the best

Well done Woody! Helping the poor is a very Christian thing to do, it's the right thing to do. The majority of homeless people, are people that have just fallen through the grate, it could happen quite easily, as for the destruction of there little bit of gear, some people are sick in the head. Your talk about people just scraping by,was the nail on the head, all those people you see on the telly talk about it but have never lived at the sharp end, they would be truly shaken if they had half an idea of what it's really like for people, some of the unfortunate stories that people suffer would turn your hair white. Another delicious looking dinner, I was drooling, but how about some belly pork? The most tasty cut of pork you can get. Keep enjoying the sound of silence, it's cold waters to a thirsty soul!

Hi Dan, another great video and what a good thought about giving some of your gear to the homeless, but I have a question for you, you always bring enough food for 3 people and I love to see it but you never show the other 2 people, do you sneak Oscar and his kids along or maybe your family along, please show us your other 2 secret people lol, well done please keep the videos coming, how they have improved over the years is amazing. I have had my eye on this tent recently, the free standing as opposed to trekking poles has a lot of appeal.

@@englishwoodsman that's funny (a bit) because the brown one is actually the one I am thinking of! I have already had the 3f ul Gear backpack in brown for a few years and like it well enough. Earth tones attract fewer bugs to you than the bright colors usually seen in a lot of backpacking gear.

Most of the homeless are just not comfortable living in houses or apartments so set aside a wooded park like area for them to stay in so they don’t have to clutter the streets , that way people can help them as they chose

I'm homeless in a tent if you have one that doesn't soak me I'd be grateful lol but I'm to far away 🤣 I bought a beatnik I woke up everything soaked condensation. I watch your Chanel I've learned alot 😁

Good vid mate. I did the exact same thing last week. Just took some of the kit I no longer use (nowt wrong with it, I just upgraded) to my local town and gave it to some of the people who are homeless. Helped one set a tent up. Don't film them mate, I don't know about you but if I was in that position I'd not want to be filmed. You are a good guy. Like the look of this tent, doesn't look like a lot of ventilation in it, how is it to sleep in? much condensation?

On a short walk, as you said, I'd be certain to tote a take-down camp chair with arms and a back! Time in a tent on longer nights goes better while sitting up to watch a video or to read.

@@englishwoodsman I've tried before,it was really enjoyable doing it (bit sad 😂).. gave myself a £10 budget to see how many days worth of mre's I could buy.. cheap food shops are the best for this. And supermarkets own brand stuff too 😎😎👍
