You can still find good country music, some country that has a rock edge to it. What I speak of is Red Dirt country or also called Texas Music.

There's alot of good country outside of the mainstream, it's just hard to find.

Hank Jr and Jeff Cook of Alabama are two of the best musicians that country music has ever seen. RIP Jeff.

That was around the first time I seen Hank JR he can play 17 different instruments and in his Confederate Suit. Now people would be calling him all kinds of names but he is still the man. Musical Genius.

The Jacket he is wearing is not Confederate. The cheap farby Kepi is. I've met all of them when I worked in Security Alarm, Camera, and access business. I will tell you this, great men and I know I will see them again in Heaven.

Back when Hank and Alabama were arguably the biggest acts in country, in their prime. To damn bad I was 2 years old. Would’ve been so great to see this back in the day.

As the great-great-great grandson of a Confederate sergeant who fought and was wounded at both the Battle of Chickamauga and the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain, as well as a Smoky Mountain hillbilly from Franklin, North Carolina like he was, I cannot describe in words how much I adore, advocate, and take pride in what I have just witnessed. I’m as southern as one can get, a veteran from the Marines and I love the views and laws we are fighting to keep that we hold dear “today” in the south. And my ancestors fought willing for the south and died in shiloh Tennessee. But to be proud of a heritage that fought to keep slavery alive, a heritage that hated the decoration of independence/Constitution, a heritage that swears up and down the war was fought for many reasons other then slavery to help them feel better about themselves, a heritage of traitors is sad. But that is what makes America great you can freely express your ignorant views but doesn’t mean you should. I’m embarrassed of my Heritage and you should be to. Sins of the father and all.

H Cubed. Randy Owen, the lead singer of Alabama was NOT making an ass of himself. That's how they performed on stage to really get the fans in to it. That's why they are the greatest country music group of all time and they are the greatest country music group of the 20th century. If you have not seen them then don't say anything wrong about them. I've seen them 19 times and I love how they performed like this.

If you and your sympathizers who replied approvingly below believe that such silly, childish, girlish behavior would get a bunch of US Navy sailors and other Navy personnel into the music, you are sadly mistaken. It is ass wipe behavior, and that is why there was so much applause when Hank Jr. came on and did not dance around like a paper kite. I have not been to an Alabama concert ever, and for the sake of my military bearing, I am glad I did not. Another comment here said that Owen was always full of himself. That about sums it up for me.

Randy owen was just standing there and playing the guitar and singing and jumped up a couple of times. I have lost count of how many Alabama concerts my wife and I went to including June Jam, they were probably the best country group ever, and Hank Jr was right up there with them!

ALABAMA by far the best country band ever and my fave, followed by The Judds. But when Hank Jr sings those lyrics... hot damn it feels it had that much more soul.

Randy Owen and Hank Jr, 2 guys that can take 50,000 people and hold them right in the palm of their hands!

That's the best live performance of anything, ever.

Hank Jr. was and still is the man wished Country music today would realize what talent is. Electronics has put pretty face with no talent on the charts.

In 1986 I was nine. The family and would go down to Boulder Beach . This song was one of our favorites to enjoy there.

My favorite Alabama song and Hank my favorite artist. That was great.

The good ole days when country music was still on the top side of the sod. Its been dead for a while God rest it's soul. Thank goodness for KZread and satellite radio because that's the only way to hear it now.

No, it's not dead, it's just that stations only play this "new country", which isn't even country. Thankfully, there are still artists that record real country, you just have to look for it, as it's not mainstream anymore.

Seen them in B'ham open for ole Bocephus, at Boutwell Auditorium. Hank songs were played by Alabama cause Bo Showed up at closing time Fu*ked up. It was Epic.1981 ! Rock out Dont put that Joint Out. 10th B day.HELL YEAH🤘

I bet that was a cool show to be at! Just when you think it can't get any better, Hank Jr. comes strolling out on stage with a banjo strapped on. It don't get more country than that, Hank Jr, a civil war suit and a banjo!

He was at his peak 86 thru 88, if I recall. They toured extensively.

That was kick ass!!

I never knew this had ever happened! Hank and Alabama on stage together, these two artists were the top two Country artists of the 80's. Nobody sold more records in the 80's than Hank and Alabama. I wonder who sold more, Hank had more albums to sell but I think individually Alabama records sold a little more than Hank's did. Just a guess though.

We were able to see Alabama at Melody Fair (small venue just outside Buffalo NY). What a great show they did in that cramped music hall. Easily better than all the arena concerts. Miss all these guys.

Love Hank Williams JR. The man can play any instrument and play as well or better then most musicians. Country music musicians never get any recognition about there guitar playing. Hank can play as well as hendrix or Stevie ray Vaughn. In my opinion
