Tennessee Driving Laws to Know Before Moving Here

Driving laws to know before visiting Tennessee or moving to Tennessee. There are some weird driving laws in Tennessee, as well as some very serious driving laws in Tennessee. I also have a tip on a common courtesy of the roadways here if you're going to be driving in Tennessee.
I'm Rachael Hadidsaz, a Realtor®️ born & raised in Tennessee. Currently I'm living in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and my real estate business is brokered by Epique Realty. As a lifelong Tennessee resident, I can’t imagine living anywhere but here. I grew up in Cookeville, TN and attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN before relocating to Murfreesboro TN in 2016. I know firsthand what it’s like moving to a new city where you may not know anyone or much about the area. My goal with this channel is to empower the public on what life is like in the Murfreesboro area, and a taste of what Tennessee living is, so that YOU can make the best decision for you and your family. To chat with me about buying or selling a home in the Middle Tennessee area, you can call/text/email me or set up an appointment directly to my calender: calendly.com/tnhomesbyrachael

In Texas if someone extends a courtesy to you such as allowing you to change lanes in front of them, we give a quick wave in the rear view mirror as a thank you. (Hold up all your fingers, not just one).

Thumbs up on video! Maybe it's not a law but yes, its southern style to pull over or remove hats for a funeral procession. Outstanding.

I lived in Tennessee for about 10 years. If you were going to Murfreesboro from Nashville, then you know where Deason is, about halfway between Murfreesboro and Springfield. I lived there in the 80s while I worked at Pillsbury. One town (in west Tennessee) where I lived had a law still on the books that said that a woman could not walk down the street unaccompanied by a man after 6pm. Why is it still on the books?

I really want to move to Tennessee. I have my reasons. I’m originally from Michigan. Our roads, bridges, and highways are terrible! There’s always construction 🚧 every single year. I drive for work. I’ve experience bad drivers almost every other week or so. Lol! I’m looking for apartments in the Smyrna and Johnson City area. I appreciate your channel Rachael! It’s very informative and educational! Keep up the good work! One day I would love to buy a ranch style house 🏡 in Tennessee.

Here in Los Angeles, nothing is enforced. When a light turns red, it means 4 or 5 cars can run it. People do whatever they want, complete madness. I've seen people honk at the funeral percussion because it's holding them up. Everyone waves with their middle finger. Not from here, but looking into TN. Visited last year and loved it, especially the people.

Holy cow. Moving to TN from FL and this makes Tennessee sound like my dream state! Nobody drives in Florida. I have no idea WHAT they're doing...and neither do they. Everyone "drives" like they really have to pee or if they go fast enough, their demons can't catch them. If folks in Tennessee actually drive like civilized humans who want to be alive at the end of the day, I live my new state already.

Going to work in minneapolis on hwy 94 early was like death race 2000, no troopers, no speed limits, if you're going 80 someone will go 90. I had crashes and spin-outs in front of me, road rage every day, people chasing each other, bumper to bumper at 80 mph. crashes in front of me when they entered the tunnel. Back in the 70's on my aunt's farm, my cousin jimmy put a rooster skin on a stick and the road hunters would shoot it every time, than they would jump out of their truck and check, and this is 50 yards from the farmhouse. The DNR changed the rules to 9 am opener to stop that. I drove down the hood just after the george floyd riots area, like a burnt down 3rd world country, cops won't stop perps anymore, wonder why? I would move to Tennessee any time, except all the family here.
