Tenby By Train - A Day Trip To Tenby (In Search Of Chips!)

A day trip to Tenby on the train along the South coast of Wales.
In search of some more seaside fish & chip shops around South Wales.
Tenby is on the Pembrokeshire coast and is just over 70 miles from Porthcawl.
Driving takes about an hour and a quarter but the morning rail service from our nearest train station takes nearly three and a half hours.
In Tenby, I go in search of chips and visit D Fecci & Sons Fish & Chips just before the rain arrives.

@@flydriveexplore The niche market can be very lucrative. Apparently, or so I have been told, there are some people out there who pay to watch scantily clad girls bouncing on Space Hoppers bursting balloons - which could be a nice little earner for you should you create a YT channel devoted to it. Incidentally, I dare say you are aware that the bench you sat on to eat your sausage and chips (in the most suggestive manner I might add) is the centre of where all the rainbow boys cruise in the hope of picking up a nice bit of fresh chicken. Tenby is rife with debauchery and has the most active dogging sites in all of Wales.

Hello, Marcus. Where to start on this one? Haven't taken that train for years. You missed a great opportunity to show the world the beauty of Port Talbot. 😱 Other than that, it's a great view around Ferryside. I've been visiting Tenby since I was 2 or 3 and spent one summer being what the locals call A Rock Tapper. Out every day with hammer, notebook, hand lens, compass-clinometer, OS map, cheat guide to British Palaeozoic Fossils, good boots and a dropper bottle of HCl. Great summer, only a few wet days. A day in the field, then a walk around Tenby: The Coach and Horses, The Lifeboat among others... And then... Fish and chips from Feccis to be enjoyed sitting on the steps of the Albert statue on Castle Hill. What was there not to love? Enjoyed this one, but you seem to be getting out of breath very easily, said a man who was in a cardiac ward for Xmas 2020. Take care.

In the 1960s/70s it was my family's general consensus that Saundersfoot did the best chips........although this feedback is probably "slightly" out-of-date. This video brings back many good memories,. Also, the panoramas that you shot helped me to appreciate the orientation of different areas of the town & coast, which I paid no attention to as a kid. You brought Tenby back to life for me, which is much appreciated considering that I've been too ill to travel for many years. Thanks for making this video!

You need a pair of bluetooth in ear sound isolating headphones. I can't even hear a screaming toddler with those in. West of Swansea the trains are incredibly slow, infrequent and unreliable. They've pretty much killed off any chance of a day trip to those destinations. The Heart of Wales line is even worse.... although at least there is a train service, unlike the link from north to south Wales - which doesn't exist by train !
