I don't want to seem like a know it all but I knew all that lol I'm on Patrol #2 and 17 years into it I still love my now 26 year old Patrol. When I bought it I said it will be with me until one of us is to old and decrepit to play the game any more and I think it will be me that breaks down first.

Nissan Patrol 1998 TI - Bloody ripper of a 4WD it is so comfortable on road and off road it is a tank. Having owned a number of 4WD's from Toyota, Mitsubishi not taking anything away from them they were good vehicles and did not let me down. The Patrol 98 TI has that extra wow factor for me. However, at the end of the day, everyone has their special 4WD, no matter the make, style or year, if it does what you want it to do that, is all that counts ................... So just get out there and get some dirt between your tread. Happy 4WD'ing to all ..........................

I would love to get my hands on a Patrol and add it to my old school 95 4x4 Pathfinder, 2010 Armada, and my 2007 4x4 Titan. Unfortunately, they won't allow these in the States due to the emissions and "supposed" lack of safety features. We are stuck with the full size 4x4 Armada, mid size Xterra, and the Pathfinder which is only good for dropping the kids off at school, not a serious off road machine.

Whilst I haven,t owned a Nissan Patrol I have a few friends that have and all of them without exception say they have been 100% reliable even after quite a lot of abuse, all have been Patrols with solid front axles and include some with leaf springs, the only slightly negative comment being the smooth 6 cylinder petrol engine is a bit thirsty.

Make sure you don't buy an ex mining vehicle i.e. any white vehicle. The mines in WA water there haul roads with salt water from under ground so the vehicle will have rust and compromised electrics. Also company vehicles have had an extremely hard life. Trust me, I'm a mine worker. Hope this helps.

I had 8 cruisers over 10 years everything from 1hdt 80 to 100 series fte, and everything in between. I got back into the 4x4 game and I couldn't afford another cruiser without selling 1 of my SSV's.. so I bought a grenade 3 litre GU Patrol. Best thing I ever did she now has half a million kms and has never had one single problem! And is soooo much nicer and better then the cruisers she is so solid and strong down low underneath its like driving a truck feels so heavy but also so light at the same time like gleaming the cube! I can breeze threw broken crossings of mud and slush without even getting out of 2wd whereas given the same scenario in my landcruisers I would be slipping all over the place!! Honestly.. I was a die hard cruiser man all my life.. and now, you couldn't give me one for free and if you did id only accept it just to sell it to buy more patrol parts! They absolutely demoralise land cruisers!! I love them! I guess all those Patrol fanatics all those times arguing with me were right! Especially that person who told me cruisers were built on a Car production line and patrols were built on a truck production line I know what they meant now!

People need to read the owners manual first, LMFAO. I have always liked Nissan Patrols and want to own one and mildly modify it for fishing, camping and light-medium 4x4ing. The new ones look rather shit compared to the older models, yet, I much prefer the older ones due to them being better looking, having more aggressive body-lines and stance. Typically, a Patrol sounds awesome compared to a Toyota, however, I do like Toyota's, just not as much as a patrol though, Cheers for the video bud :-)

Hmm so how they put roof tents on the roof when the limitacion is 100kg? Just the tent weights around 35 to 50 kilos. Now imagine two adults sleapingbin those roof tents and maybe a dog and some equipment? We easily hawe 250 kg and more on the roof of the car. So i don,t understand that. I see a lot of this wehicles with roof tents.

The limit applies to when the vehicle is moving. Stability when cornering, you can’t have weight that high or it won’t be that high for long... A decent set of racks will hold much more, when standing still. So putting 250kg of tent plus 2 people plus gear isn’t a problem.

Why in the world would you expect it to be smaller, come with less technology, or even affordable? Toyota and Nissan differ mostly in terms of reliability. I respect Toyota Landcruisers - like I respect Mitsubishi Pajeros or Mercedes's G-Series, but worship Patrols. Period. When you're off-roading, reliability, suspension and diffs are EVERYTHING!!

That isn't engaging 4x4, it's locking the hubs manually instead of automatically. You would recognise the tool if you've ever removed wheel nuts...

We have a 3 litre patrol and its a piece of shit. My boss bought it a couple of years ago from a dealer and it blew up within the first 2 weeks. Very uncomfortable to drive

It only done 100km. It was used as a work vehicle so it was pulling a 7m trailer doing multiple trips from city to country. After the engine it had a dozen of turbo issues. It would barely get over 90kph without the turbo

@@davo8955 fair enough, but i wasn't talking about newer cruisers. especially cause u said u had a 2014? yeah they got bad reviews. but they improved, and basically from 1960 to 2000 every land cruiser made were amazing.
