@@artrob42 ahhh yeah, cons are kinda hard if you don't go to them with a friend/friend group already established. I've found that going to panels is really helpful, especially meet and greets! I've also made one of my closest friends because they literally walked up to me and said, "You seem cool, and I don't have any friends, can I be your friend?" A lot of furries are very understanding and that strategy might actually work haha.

I'm sorry you've had such negative experiences with furries! Speaking as a furry, most of them are harmless and incredible, lovable people. Unfortunately, conventional/social media exposes people to the extremes of any minority group, and furries are no different. Thank you for putting so much work into your comment! I would encourage you to seek out perspectives about the fandom from furries themselves (Ash Coyote's documentaries are great!) if you are genuinely interested in what the fandom is about. ​@@arkbark_ that's what every furry says, truth is that it's no minority though, and the vast majority of furries that say that are a classic case of "actions speak louder than words". to deny that the vast majority of furries consume animal porn is extremely foolish. it might be anecdotal but i've had FOUR (if you can believe it) former friends that became furries and every one of them shamelessly hyper-sexualized animals and were just generally unpleasant people to be around. three from a discord friend group, one that i played steam games with. also i strongly discourage the original poster to seek out biased content made by furries. anyone who is reading this should seriously reconsider or consider NEVER joining the furry fandom.

@@arkbark_ also, i always hear furries encouraging people to join the fandom, but i never hear "anti-furries" genuinely telling furries to quit the fandom. if you are a part of the innocent "good majority" group you talk about you should seriously consider quitting, or at the VERY LEAST seriously consider NOT pressuring young and impressionable children to join the fandom under the ruse of it just being "a fun community about cute animals". i'm not saying this because it's "cringe", i argue this from a morality perspective. plenty of furries in the fandom are morally bankrupt deviants. it is ABSOLUTELY no place for a child, no matter the preconceptions, and to openly deny this is a truly sick action. regardless, thanks for reading this, and i genuinely hope you see it as more than a rant.

No survey or expirement will ever be able to show the number of people like this in the fandom. One person's experiences are not representative of the whole truth (and I'm not just saying this about bad furries - it goes either way. I've personally had good experiences with them but again, my experiences cannot account for everyone).

Thanks for your support and optimism to encourage me to actually express myself. I'm looking at my past and seeing how depressed I was as an anti furry, now I'm standing high and proud expressing myself. I never realized that I loved coffee so much! I remember when being an anti furry I was in a mental low, watching your videos cheered me up and really saved me from a side that that I had false friends. Now being in the furry fandom where you have friends; they will support you and make you laugh. That's why I'm never going back to the anti-furs... Never. Ever. Again.

True! a lot of 7 year olds don't know what furries are though; i only found out when I was 11 or 12. in my experience, ive found that young kids are actually pretty cool and accepting of furries! i think it really depends what environment ur in ^^
