that's no accident! Famitracker is, after all, a direct emulation of the NES sound hardware, so any samples will have the same sort of crackly quality to them.

I can totally picture this as the music accompanying a section of a dungeon crawler or platformer where there are a lot of small enemies in your path. Like it's not a boss or miniboss theme but it's still a battle theme. Great job with this.

aaa i would, but it just doesn't seem plausible! Lin Manuel is a musical genius, so it would take a lot, a LOT of really, really intent listening, executive decisions on what harmonies to include/exclude, and I'd have to be really creative a lot of the time, like I was with the record scratch(?) at the beginning. I'd love to hear the whole show in 8-bit too, but I'll probably only do one or two more, if any.

Yeah, there's still a few things in my way. :( NUMBER ONE: The challenge. While The Beatles are really melodic and lyrical, and the recognition of a song comes from the tune and chord progression, Hamilton is much different. The iconic sound of a song whose lyrics don't follow a melody is determined by the beat and the specific arrangement of any tonal elements. In less pretentiously eloquent terms, the songs in Hamilton are way harder to do because I can't deviate too much from the original arrangement, or they'll become unrecognizable. NUMBER TWO: me. I don't have a great work ethic, and motivation is kind of hard to come by. Not to mention, I'm already working on a LOT of original stuff that I won't be able to show anybody for a while, for Secret Reasons. Committing to doing an entire album, rather than just doing whatever I feel like doing, would be very, very difficult. Music's fukn hard, man, and I'm not good at getting off my ass and doing stuff. Sorry if this wasn't the response you wanted, but them's the br8ks. :(

+ShrubRustle It's for a Mario Awards ceremony on a Mario forum. It's something we do every year, and some of the awards presentations are really cool! (like last year, I did a puzzle for 'Favorite Puzzle Game', and someone else did a Smash Bros fight with Mario characters for 'Favorite Character')
