I'm a Canadian and although they're not prog, The Tragically Hip are much loved here, and they never made a stinker over 20 plus years. So consistently great. @@TheProgCornerI understand, Scot. I can find at least 20 minutes of greatness on each of my least favorite Yes albums, except Drama. After Does It Really Happen, Run Through The Light, and White Car, there isn't anything I care to listen to ever again. Especially live in concert. If I pay for a Yes ticket, I don't want any Buggles music wasting concert time. There's only 14 minutes of somewhat decent songs on Drama. Even Heaven And Earth has twenty minutes of good Yes music. And I say Union has a half hour of good Yes music including 3 great Yes songs.

Open Your Eyes and The Quest are kind of weak (especially OYE) but I like most of their other albums including Union. The Beatles….Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix are the only artist I can think of that haven’t had a bad album. Sure there might 3 or 4 weak songs in their catalogue but nothing that adds up to a bad album release. For whatever reason people, even fans of Zeppelin, shit on “In Through the Outdoor” but it’s honestly a solid release. It has everything that makes Zeppelin great…. it so diversified. It has a ….rock song….a hard rock song….a blues song….a love song…..a prog song…..and even a country song!! It also has some exciting Jimmy solos and some great drumming by Bonham. It’s their mature album and I love it….along with the album art work! It’s their 8th masterpiece in a row. Great episode! Cheers ✌️

Sticking with prog, probably my 2 top bands that have the most consistent top level albums are Riverside and Porcupine Tree. I think King Crimson fits the bill with some of my favourite albums and no bad albums, but for me they have their stronger and weaker albums. From the albums I've heard from Camel I think they fit the bill too, but I haven't heard all their latest albums and I don't think they are as strong as their earlier albums. I think Gabriel's solo album collection is solid and so is Hackett's. Not your headline prog band but I like all of Stick Men's albums, and TuNer too, though they only have a couple so far. Hopefully more to come. If we are going to include fusion jazz in this discussion, I'd include Alain Caron, Al Di Meola, Brand X, Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Simon Phillips Protocol,. This list could be expanded if we consider bands will less than 4 albums. For example Bill Bruford.

Thank you!!!!! I try!!!
Porcupine Tree for sure, IF you can get past their first album, that LSD soaked popsicle Sunday.
Good to see Sparks here.

I do!!!! I learned to love it.
I’d add Peter Gabriel
Tears for Fears- All their albums are near perfect! Maybe the most consistently great artist in my lifetime. Dream Theater- Some albums are better than others but no bad albums. I love The Astonishing! SHUT UP! Big Big Train- Sure they got much better after their early albums but even the early albums are decent. Steely Dan- Can’t go wrong with The Dan! Pat Metheny Group- Ok so maybe a bad solo album but all of the Group albums are really good.

I don’t like Everything Must Go. But aside from that, The Dan were perfect.

I love Tears for Fears! I have all of their albums and Roland’s solo album from many years ago.
What about Dregs, Kansas, Steve Hackett and Brand X?
Threshold are remarkably consistent. I wasn’t that taken with their Legends of the Shires double concept album, but it’s not bad. All the others are very good to excellent.
Agree that in through the out door is quite a good zep album even though I can do without the long candelabra instrumental.
Love SPARKS!!! Some of their later albums are fantastic.

Number 1 in Heaven
Wobbler, VDGG, King Crimson, all brilliant albums. Here are some of the bands that I consider have perfect discography: Anekdoten, Krokofant, Elephant9, Il Bacio Della Medusa, French TV, Accordo Dei Contrari, Forgas Band Phenomena, Ghost Rhythms, October Equus, Gösta Berlings Saga. Cheers and all the best.

I would have cut out gbv from my list too but not beacause of sandbox. Its probably the most underrated album i have in my collection. I love it!!! Come on, long distance man and i certainly hope not. Wow, what amazing songs! Sure, the entire album took some listening to before i got into it but man, im happy i did. And id like to add system of a down. Five albums, all amazing!

@@TheProgCorner so, eventually, I've made a trip into their body of works and.. Yea! I like them! If there was such a cliche genre as smooth prog, or comfy prog, I would have most certainly used that label on them. Just lovely!
the final cut could have been better, but I still thinks its awesome
You nailed it with Sparks and XTC. My favourite band They Might Be Giants doesn't quite make it as I wouldn't call all the kids albums great. I would include The Decemberists and Fountains Of Wayne though
The Beatles,VanDer Graaf and XTC!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏 Sonic Youth for Me : 15 Good Albums!!❤ I Like Your Energy! Congrats Scot!!!

Oh!!! Sonic Youth!!! A good call. Big fan. But I never liked Bad Moon Rising…
Interesting list Scot. Living in the Past is an excellent choice and would also be on my list. Talking of which here's mine in no particular order. 1.Jethro Tull- Living In the Past 2.Young Person's Guide To King Crimson. (Yeah I know it's a compilation but I don't care -I love that album- my intro to KC) 3.The Who-Tommy 4.Genesis- Lamb Lies Down On Broadway 5.Elton John-Goodbye Yellow Brick Road 6.ELO- Out Of The Blue 7.Beatles-White Album 8.XTC-English Settlement 9.Genesis- Seconds Out (everthing sounds better than the studio versions in my opinion) 10.Jethro Tull-Bursting Out. (ditto!)

Woops- that was my comment for your video on best double albums!!!

Off the top of my head, I'm gonna champion Cult of Luna, Enslaved (16 albums, ALL amazing!!), Moon Safari, Protest the Hero, and Riverside!

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: King Crimson! 💪🍻
Even every Hendrix posthumous studio album are excellent
I am still in your debt for bringing Nemo to my attention. Progarchives lists them as Eclectic Prog, but I hear a lot of neo-prog in their records.

I never liked Presence by Zeppelin, except for Achilles Last Stand. I’ve always considered that album their one bad apple. I think Hawkwind is an honorable mention though. Maybe I’m wrong, but everything I’ve heard from them so far is pretty good. Popol Vuh almost made it for me but they had 3 electronic albums in the 90s that I don’t care about. I think Gong and Magma could be considered too.
Big wreck should be on this list and I agree in through the out door is one of my favourites
The band Riverside, all thier albums blow most of these bands in the dust! 💥💪👊
