Temper Tantrums in Toddlers | Why They Happen & How to Keep the Peace | Malayalam | Dr. Mary Matilda
Even before a child is born parents have hopes, dreams and expectations for their son or daughter. We want our kids to grow into independent, responsible and caring individuals. When they are toddlers they try to do things on their own. This independence is an essential and positive part in the development stage of an individual. However, very often, parents and caregivers call it as bad temper or temper tantrums. Yes, we may not agree with everything the child wants. But, instead of complaining about these tantrums let us patiently find out some constructive ways to tackle them. Dr Mary Matilda's daughter shares her experiences and techniques to manage toddlers when they become aggressive or grumpy.

Good Morning teacher and Asha Mam. Very Very useful and valuable tips and information really help to deal with children with psychological view. Teacher my humble request is can u give some tips to deal with teenaged children especially in between 16 yrs and upto 19 yrs. We parents feel that our children are very much reserve type, wishing to remain alone and not wish to participate in social functions which invites tension in family. Especially son who s n plus two Always find in furious mood, not taking adequate interest in his studies and all. This tendency put we in tension about his future. I and my wife both are serving. I am requesting some useful tips, guidance or advice on this please.

Thank u so much. Really thank u so much for this video

Hi Hiba! Thank you for the comment. It is quite normal for kids of this age to be aggressive. There are a few things you could try: 1. Areyenkilum physically harm cheyumbo udane avare gently and kindly aa situationil ninnu maatua. Ennitu avarude feelings validate cheyua,i.e. say things like " Deshyam varunundalle. eniku ariyam ee karanam kondu deshyam undavumennu. Njan koode irunnu samadhanipikam." Give her a hug if she allows you to. Otherwise just be with her and ensure her safety as well as others'. Physical aggression padillennu parayunnathinte koode deshyam express cheyan vere options paranju kodukua. E.g. Deshyam varunundennu verbally parayan padipikua, Idikan thonnundenkil soft surfaces il idikan parayam, like on the bed, deshyam varumbo Hibayodu paranjal mathi apo samadhanipikam ennu parayua. 2. Aggression kanikunna samayathu blaming or shaming cheyathirikua. Or advices kodukathirikua. Aa samayathu ithonnum beneficial alla. When she is calm and happy, tell them lovingly that hitting others is not allowed because it hurts. Also tell her safe ways to express anger. Keeping doing this on a regular basis. 3. Kunjine ithinte peril adikano vazhakku parayano onnum cheyathirikan shramikua. That contradicts the message that hurting others is bad. Try to be as calm as you can. I know it's hard. 4. Try to engage her in physical activities as much as you can. Let her run and play outdoors. angane energy release cheyan nokua. 5. Find out the root cause behing agression. Chilapo kunjinu kooduthal attention kitan ayirikam. Angane anenkil spend more alone time with her- without phone or anything. Positive ayitulla karyangal kunju cheyumbo athinu attention kodukua, e.g. when she requests something in a kind tone, appreciate her for that saying the specific reason why you appreciate it. 6. Adhikam no parayathirikua. You can also watch my video on positive discipline for some other tips. Most important, don't worry. These are normal phases of development. 🙂 But if you're very concerned, do not hesitate to talk to your paediatrician. It will help to relieve your stress.

So around 1 year, I introduced to her whatever food was cooked for the rest of the family, as it is. Kids are generally picky eaters. All we can do is keep offering good food of different kinds and leave the rest to them. Thanks for watching and commenting🙂
