I have this Miele and I am going to scrap it next week and get a new Miele after 16 years use. Great washing machine.

I still have my mum's Miele from 1985 it's in retirement now but still going strong when asked to do so

I'm on my second Miele washing machine. They are very good indeed. It seems that Miele are now looking to save money with their latest range. Plastic door frame which shocked me!, no on/off or door release button, infact, no buttons anymore, just the program dial and a touch screen. The new machines really don't have the grandeur looks and grace of the older range. I'd say do your old machine up and keep it!

I agree, Bosch went the same way, the newer ones are too dependent on electronics and snap together parts.

That sucks! Corporate America and their F#$*&ng investors always looking to cut costs and increase profits. But it doesn't help that most people are too stupid for their own good and always just looking for the cheapest version of whatever and/or going on pure looks/style/trendyness. Bought my first Miele Touchtronic 3033 back in 2012 and it's been fantastic. Not a single problem since. I'm just here looking to see if there are common issues I should be anticipating and do maintenance to prevent.

The latest base model Mieles have a Fibreglass / plastic outer drum. This used to be declared on their website (about 2-3 years ago) but now they've gone backwards and declare no materials of construction at all as far as I can see.

I agree. It looks good to me! I think a full strip down and clean up will do it up nicely.

Hello. I have this exact machine & its 30 years old. Its going strong however the glass has broken. We would like it replaced as its under warranty . Im hoping the parts are not made anymore & we will get a new Miele . Awesome machines all round

@@bootsowen its insured with domestic & general (has been for 30 years !) . They will replace if unable to repair it. fair enough considering the yearly premium .

wow this one is from 2002 so it’s must be the Last Final model of the W800 Series, and also officially the Last EVER True Old style Miele washer with the door open button in the middle and the old style old parts, the front and the back and side panels, the drawer, the rubber, the tub, the inside of the front, and maybe the motor but it’s not the last ever brushed motor Miele washer!

My Miele has just gone caput think PCB board failed all lights gone out £400 for replacement, machine is solid but decided this time to go for an Ebac with 7 yrs warranty

Some of the mieles have a fuse and a relay. Both or either can cause a power out. Maybe worth checking? Especially if all lights are out the problem is possibly between the outlet in the wall and the display. These mieles are very easy to repair. The front opens like a cupboard and you can then get to almost everything. Great machine

I also have the same model machine. The drum has started to make a grinding noise. If it is the bearing failure problem then how much do you think I should pay for the repair in London? Thanks

No idea, probably more than the cost of a new low end machine! I wouldn't pay for a repair, but that is just me, I have posted a video of how to replace the bearings on this machine.

I have a Premier Novo which I bought (at least) second-hand from a neighbour who moved away in 2010. The best £60 I ever spent. It took two of us to lift it into place it is so heavy. No problems at all with it, are the newer models as bomb-proof? Mine can't last forever.

You are all about the money! I reckon this one's a keeper, But it'll need a good clean first! Full strip down. Lots of videos to come I guess.

Please show all the cleaning process😍😍😍😍😍😍 and restoration! The rubber out in a backet full of wc gel bleach for 24 hours, became brand new again! Do service cycle with bleach then with washing mschine ckeaner, than with citric acid and than with dishwasher soap, it will became really clean inside

Fix it it will last a long time and it it is a good one cleans well they dont make tham anymore

Hi there, I had a go at it on the machine in this video and you can see the results in my other videos, It depends on how the bearings failed, but it may not be worth fixing. I hope you didn't pay much for it.

I think that machine will have a split able tub

There's a cast iron spider you take off the back of the machine and that has the bearing on there

We had a Miele W5740 Washing Machine and the drum bearings had collapsed and it was just over 10 years old, and just out of its 10 year warranty..Typical !, we contacted Miele and paid the £269.00 call plus repair charge over the phone,the engineer attended and plugged in his laptop and carried out the diagnostics which collected all the info and values from the machine but they would'n't replace the drum bearings as it was a two man job and claiming had done well over its 10000 hours lifespan ie : 13750 hours recorded, (equivalent to 26 years) in 10 years total even if we had called them under warranty...How is that right ? Anyway we decided to put the £269.00 which Miele credit you towards another washing machine which when it arrived the delivery drivers couldn't remove the transit tubes so another one had to be ordered and that wasn't as good it, wasn't nearly as whisper quiet as the Miele W5740 and shook a little so we rejected that and paid a little more for the better machine £869.00 but still not has good as the original Miele W5740 washing machine and they dont include a 10 years warranty now.

crazy, why not get a used machine and repair it yourself, someone could have replaced the bearings surely?

@@bootsowen I looked at replacing the bearings on the drum assembly but its a 2 man job because the of the heavy frame that supports the drum assembly and all the front and side panels have to be removed before removing the drum through the side of the framework. Believe me I tried to match the bearings and housing and seal but could find the correct heavy duty bearings to match except for spurious parts.

@@joannedrake6019 I used to believe in genuine parts, but the reality is that you had a 10 year old machine and now you don't, if you had fitted non-miele parts then you would still have the machine you liked and may well have had another 10 years out of it. I gave up on that genuine stuff ages ago, but then I would usually buy used spares of a used machine where I can. As for a 2 man job, I have done it alone a good few times, this is just a health and safety thing for Miele staff.

Perhaps a big rock like the one that killed the Beko in one swift move. To be honest, if it put up half the fight that the Hotpoint did I would be very impressed.

I have found another hotpoint and a whirlpool so i can do the fast brick smash with them, the Miele has a working PCB, so i could do a few fun washes first. Any ideas?
