The superior material for O-Ring composition is Viton! If you are not using them made from that material, it would behove you to find a supplier from which you obtain your O-Rings to use across the board for all usage. When you get O-Rings from Deere, they very well may be Viton, but common O-rings found in general assortment boxes are very likely not Viton. Keep up the good work! JIM 🤩

Good to see your starting chop some corn . At least you had rain out your way tho . a lot of corn & hay out here in the albany area didn't get a lot of rain . So both the hay & corn crop did not do real well . In some places very poor 2 nd cutting of hay .

It's not that simple with equipment these days. There are check valves, solenoids, proportioning valves, integrated into these circuits now. In most cases pulling a vacuum on the hydraulic tank and then taking something apart you wouldn't even feel the vacuum because of all the other components in the circuit. About the only thing you can do with the vacuum trick is put a shop vac on a radiator so you can swap out a coolant temperature sensor or something super fast and you still get coolant all over your hands anyway lol

@@Adam_Poirier Vac pumps on the machine from new, pull from the return side not the feed side. You are correct you need to have a check valve in the circuit to keep from pulling oil With a vac pump it has been found that you can even remove the main pump suction line without the oil leaking. Agree a shop vac is not that good since the ability for the shop vac to draw at heavy mercury levels is not possible. You can use a good quality A/C vac JD vac pump part # is F061614

Likely $$ prohibitive, in addition to actual machine cost, look @ the $$ resources required for maintenance of just one machine. & buying used, likely abused (worn out) is akin to wishing for hemorrhoids.
