    Anytime that you have livestock and I don't care what it is cattle sheep hogs goats whatever there is an awful lot of work that falls between tractor rides

    Thanks again Andy! It is fun and interesting to see 'who' often does what task and wonder why it is so. When you were fitting pedal adjustments on the Roxor it was obvious Andrew was gonna want to swoop driving anything possible. Your daughters seem to have that base covered as well. All the while someone somewhere is complaining about nepotism, LOL! I see you went with the wireless BT PPE safety squints and dust filter! ;-)

    Had to pause the video and go out to the shed and get my respirator, was getting hard to breathe giving me flashbacks to my silo days. After watching even had to take a shower I was itching so bad! Still a great video!

    On top of the corn in the silo "Lets Do The Corn Dance Again" was my thought as you cleared the junk on the surface of the corn towards the down shute.

    That has to be one of the nastiest jobs to do on your farm Andy. A big vertical climb, crud, plastic and then incredible dust to deal with. Bad for the lungs for sure and a condition known as "Farmers Lung" here in the UK.

    Dad had 3 of those silos 90 ft. Ht. ...I was always a bit worried as when you climbed the footing steps were always slippery...What a Climb you had

    Andy, I know it's a pain in the tuckus, but you should seriously consider at least a dust mask. Heck, I get stuffed up just grinding dry corn in the open, and I know what molds are in ground grain that has been stored a while. I know gas isn't an issue in that silo, but dust definitely is.

    The surface drive ones got better when they finally went to the big wheel kits instead of those small drive wheels those were a disaster

    Man, after the fungal sinus infection I had early this year, when that dust kicked up I held my breath! Don't know if you've had any issues with mold but it was like breathing through a rag soaked with window cleaner all day.

    I never put corn in a cement silo before because I had the harvestore. Is that what it normally settles when you grind it and put it in there about three doors.

    We had a couple of old silo matics with the small 12-15” wheels in hi moisture corn that weren’t bad. They wouldn’t have been too good in haylage or corn silage. We had a patz unloader with the large wheel that came with a farm we bought. Really with that for 2 years and tore the silo down and put it back up here.

    Is there a reason why silos don't pull product from the bottom like a regular grain bin? Not a farmer here just enjoy Andy's videos and genuinely curious. Setting up that unloader from the top looks like a huge pain in the ass.

    10th Generation Dairyman has various videos using the bottom load silos but they are replacing with top load silos due to maintenance issues with bottom load plus cost per ton to operate advantage of top load over bottom load.

    can't you make a rubber lip from an old conveyor belt to cover the door opening where the chain is mounted to avoid the dust in the stairwell
