Everyone has their own ideas. My plan would have been: 1) get it on its tires, 2) rig for the pick, 3) redirect an aux winch from the tail of the truck to get a low pull on the rear of the tele handler & pull it around to be able to "roll" uphill (realize that it won't roll much due to being hydraulic drive), 4) drag it uphill until you have it in position to get the pick, 5) pickup & set on trailer. Turning the machine 90 degrees so it's oriented to roll should reduce the ground resistance & the lower redirect would put less leverage on your truck boom. Oh, I almost forgot DON'T STAND UNDER THE LOAD.

We used 4 chains with a working load limit of 15,000 each. Therefore if any chain broke the others would be more than enough to hold the load. Also the lower winch lines did a few things for us. Not only did they take load off of the tip of the boom, but I used them to keep the machine in contact with the ground until it was at the top of the hill. Doing this would give individuals at the bottom of the hill time to react as the additional lines would slow down the fall. vs the small reaction time needed if it were to free fall. There are only a few times I was unhappy about individuals placement and that was when we had it vertically lifted and began to rotate. Next time we will run multiple tag lines to keep people back. At 39:00 the treadmill jogger is in the exact wrong place with his tag line. One should never be where the load can go. Down hill and underneath is never right. So the tag is tied too short and by the way you are dragging it uphill on the wrong end. Now all he needs to do is wrap the line around his hand a couple of times and stand in the pile of line when he get's some.

@@doak4886 id love to see u go operate a 650k dollar rotator. U can't just move fast when doing recoveries with these truck yes they are power houses but its better to inch along incase of a equipment failure than to go fast and send the sky track back down the hill or worst the shock from it flip the rotator. I have run an 1150 for 6 years now theyre amazing machines

Thank you for your reply, I like to see people paying attention to safety as it get to be a scary line we walk in this industry. Please read our reply to Rick. But understand we are not saying he was in a good spot. We have learned some lessons and can’t wait to get to our next recovery. Have a great day.

@@michaelseverson9809 Michael, I spent 3 years of my youth as an Iron worker and rigger. I was on the dumb end of the crane. The rule I came to respect says if everything goes wrong where does the load go? You never want to be where the load is or is going. Gravity is a relentless mistress. Ever hear about Hydrogen embrittlement? Right out of thin air, now what?

No he was working up there and it was dark and the tire went off the road
No man can hold back 10000 lbs moving 1 mph if you try . You might get a blood blister 😂
It would probably start and you could drive it out
Whoever was hacking up lung snot and spitting... about made me throw up. Great video otherwise.

Casey B Hargraves us too! Lol he’s a brand new guy 😂
You need to take the camera off your head. He;s moving his head to much!
too slow and way too many ads
Loves your recoveries But geez, you got to do some video editing and get better videos. Half the time in this video for example is of you looking at dirt and rocks.. Most of the time in the video we the viewers can’t see shit, Be nice if ya set ya cam on a tripod or something so we could see what your actually doing. I know your gotta job to do but there’s enough guys standing around to let you spend time setting up a tripod.
