Tekton Pendragon and Doge audio system

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Tekton Pendragon speakers with Doge audio 6 tube cd player, Doge 8 tube pre-amp and Doge 9 tube mono blocks. Wonderful sound....video doesn't do it justice due to audio limitations of camera....but gives you an idea.

Tekton makes some of the BEST sounding speakers for the money. I have owned 3 pairs and currently have the "Lore Impulse"... it will STRAIGHT UP EMBARRASS speakers costing 10X the cost... I am speaking from actual experience. Most "fun" speaker I have owned, easily.

I have the Lore Reference, powered by a 50w tube amp. Total system cost was 2k and it will definitely embarrass some megabuck systems for that live you are there sound.

I could swear I can almost hear the quality of sound through my speakers--even though that is theoretically not possible. I seem to be picking up incredible high end detail

This is a great recording for sure. A really good one for testing your system. This particular system just works really well, the Doge's and Tekton pendragons pair very well.

Stuart, I got the Doge package Doge7 dac, Doge 8 Clarity preamp and Doge 9 mono amps all the PSVane T2 tube upgrades . Just burning them in now, also considering buying the Tekton Double Impact speakers or the Double Impact SEs, would like to know if your Pendragons match well with the Doge electronics? Would appreciate any advice and opinion. Thanks

Raymond.....I think they match very well. The Pendragons are actually quite neutral. I think people expect a bass heavy speaker , but I have not found that to be the case. The Doge gear is not tubey in the sense that they are also quite neutral , so if you are looking for a very bass heavy sound, you may be disappointed. I find that the Doge gear, matched with the pendragons produce a very accurate sound, huge sound stage and of course massive volume if that's your thing. However, it also scales very well due to the sensitivity of the speakers.

Is Jazz music not copyrighted? I keep hearing KZread will pull videos if copyrighted music is played. I've asked some reviewers to play some classic rock music in their videos and they will never do it.

I have a 36 WPC PrimaLuna in the mail. Tektons are at the top of my list to pair with the PrimaLuna.

Are you using stock tubes? How long have you had them? I am considering the doge 8 and 9 combo, thanks

Anthony L The 6 and 8 all have upgraded tubes, combo of Nos Mullards and gold lion. I was using the stock 211 power tubes until recently and just upgraded to PSVane T-II. The difference was very apparent with the upgrading of the tubes in the pre-amp. The stock tubes were a little bright for me and the mullards just balanced things much better. I only have a few hrs on the upgraded 211 tubes as one of the original stock tubes started to whine after 5 months or so. The original power tubes sounded pretty good to me. With the T-II's , so far I'm hearing a little bit more low bass and slightly better separation between instruments, but it's quite subtle. I think they need 70-100hrs to sound their best by all accounts. The Doge amps and cd player really are fantastic units and great value. It's a lot of fun tube rolling too, I suspect you can really tweak a lot and get slightly different sound signatures, depending on your preference.

Whoever chose to play this primitive music on this amazing speakers, knows very little about music! Period!!! What a disgrace!!!

Everyone has their preferences, but how is this primitive music exactly? Gary Willis is recognized as one of the worlds most accomplished bass players and composers. Maybe you should listen rather than Judge?

Personally I'd like to hear some classic rock in your videos. I know it isn't recorded the best but I'll still get an idea of what it would sound like through your system.
