If Tekno would of just named the first one the MT48 everyone would be going crazy that they made a 10th scale version

Fr I just call it an 8th scale lol
Thanks for pointing out the motor screws which are too short, I had this issue on my SCT410 2.0, the motor came loose due to the threads ripping out. I've since fitted longer, 12mm screws.
You do some really good reviews thank you for that and happy new year 🎉
Great review👍 I'm holding out out to a see if an MT48 drops.

Both mt410 1.0 and 2.0 have the same wheelbase. The only difference is the 1.0 had wide truggy arms, while the 2.0 has the same width as sct and buggy. In what way is the 2.0 not 1/8 scale? For a monster truck it's 1/10, but still the same as a 1/8 buggy as it's always been. 1/10 the size of an elephant would still be massive. 1/10 of a human would be puny. Compare 1/10 of an elephant to 1/10 of a human and the human will still be smaller. The same way 1/1 elephant is that much larger than a 1/1 human.

I'm tempted to build one.My original Mt has been a beast though, and shares parts with all the rest of my fleet Awesome review, and content.
Big fan of your reviews , This kit kit will be an hard pass for me , this is not a V2 of the old one by far. I can't build this one and put all my tires from my old mt410. I am glad I still have a new MT410 v1 brand new downstairs. Hope they release 17mm wheel hex, 4s , out of the box monster kit that replace the old one. Sorry Tekno this is a FAIL for me.
Im running 4s on the 12mm hexes. So far no issues. I'll be glad to report if I do run into problems over time. I dont slam the throttle from a stand still like some do and thats what shocks the drivetrain and strips wheel hexes 😅
Happy new year 🥳 🪒 keep the fantastic honest videos coming

nice! enjoy the truck! motor mount and some redesigned shock shafts (with a washer) would be great!!!
Traxxas 8568 are 17mm with no grub screw and i had to grind them from 8mm thick to 4mm so the 8mm wheel nut had enough threads to get to the nylon. As long as the wheel nut stays tight the cross pins should stay put. I didn't have to search long to find these so there may be a better option i did not find. Also I'll probably go for the aluminum shock caps and washers under the pistons now that i know that could get to be an issue. And i added the center brace. I'm also needing to go back thru the build instructions for the option parts i feel I may use.
Thanks for the awesome review! M2C to the rescue!
Thanks for the review, it definitely addresses some things I mentioned in an earlier video. I am starting to recognize this is intended to be a smaller scale vehicle than the original. But I have seen others running on MX28's and they seem more appropriate, especially since this is supposed to be a stunt/monster truck. Cushier tires may also help with those broken shock pistons. ;D With SC tires, is there ANYTHING to distinguish this from the SCT? Wider arms probably. I'm trying to decide whether this is my next RC or if I should pick up the original MT410. I held off, despite the price drop, because I suspected the MT410 2.0 was coming. I'm going to wait for more videos. Someone will eventually try Badland 3.8's or Backflip LP's, or at least really send it with 2.8's on 4s. (Next video please?) YES, they should release an MT48!
Thank you for video. If yokomo cal 3.1 10.5t what pinion gear thank you... happy new year!

I honestly got the MT 410 used for $140 and I have to say throwing a short course truck body onto it and running it like a 4x4 sct it's a monster, it's just stupid fast controls really well and after adding an RX8 ESC and a 2050KV motor, with near 1-1 gearing this thing smokes anything I put it next to
Is this like what the proline mt was? I had one of those but gave it away.
Nice review! I don’t understand the marketing on this one. Yes, I am grumbling 😂 It’s not an MT410 it’s an MT version of the new SCT. I agree that on the merits of what it actually is, it looks like a good Tekno kit. I’m a little surprised that the shocks are not 1/8 scale sized and that the hex size is not 17mm 🤷♂️
Try the Traxxas variable dampening pistons. Not many options for 13 mm shocks u can switch the direction u want the most dampening a drilled the holes a mm larger & belled the opening of the hole on the unvalvled hole they are perfect. My rustler 4x4 is much heavier than stock and this really made it more controllable. I have the same hobbywing system & love it 50 tooth spur & 23 ; tooth pinion & it barely gets warm & all I run r 2.8 mt tires. Jetkos, prolines etc

Can't decide between the Outcast 4s 2.5 or the Tekno MT410 2.0. What would you go with. I'm familiar with the details of each. I just want to know what is going to be a better RC and of course always, the most durable and less of a headache to fix and maintain. I'm leaning towards building an MT410, but still considering the outcast if it holds up will and I don't need to upgrade a lot of things out of the box.
I wonder if my 16mm pro mt4x4 shocks will fit it
Good vid but I wish you would compare it to other Tekno 1/10 vehicles. What's the difference? Chassis length? Arm length? Also width with wheels on is moot considering offsets etc. I still love your vids. Thanks!

@BlairW66 How so? It's a redesigned "true" 1/10. It still has a wheelbase and a width. After 30 years it's been proven to me that most consumers choose their RC by the way it looks and not specs. Tires and body are easily changed along with electronics.
This or a outcast or kraton 2.5 any thoughts
You rated this 4 for performance. What do you consider a 5 in roughly the same size. (Mostly driving in the grass so handling there means more than jumps). Coming from ET48, which is too big.
I still love my fist gen mt410, the tekno rigs just drive so nice and predictably. And of coarse they are more durable than most rigs.
How much does it weigh fully loaded? Will a Mamba X for in?

Didnt need it with my build. They didnt use Orings this time so it was super easy to do. The plastic "dress" on the shock collar is what helps keep them snug instead of using orings :)
I just want the driveshafts in my mt converted sct410.3! Too bad they don't fit because that is the biggest weak point I have had with putting big tires on that truck.
It seems expensive to me within the competition it has. In Spain and the rest of Europe it exceeds €500, I have found it at €529 in Spain, in Germany with transport €519, Austria with transport €525. Add a Hobbywing electronics, servos and cheap radio station and you're at €750. For a very expensive Monster 1/10, my Hobao MTX 1/7 cost me the same and most of its alternatives are over €500, the most expensive being the Traxxas Maxx €650. I find it very expensive although exclusive and quality.

@@RUZTY1311the problem is this new truck isn’t competing against the Kraton 6s or even 4s. It’s about the same size as an MT10 and a Granite. I agree inflation is 100% a real thing, but the fact is you can still get a brand new MT10 for $330. Also, it is pretty disappointing that the new 1.0 chassis is 6061 and not 7075 like the 1.0 chassis and that you have to buy the tower to tower brace as an option.
Nothing compares to the pro mt 4x4 imo. Proline should release a 2.0 version. 17mm 2.8 legitimate monster truck tires included, 550 motor compatible , awesome shocks and suspension, just an awesome piece of machinery. I haven’t come across anything that compares.
I assume Tekno created this model with mostly existing parts from other models. Allowing RC enthusiasts who like to build and personalize their builds. Obviously not to compete with Other companies RTR offerings. I enjoy building, tuning and moding my builds almost as much as I do driving.
2-3x the cost of an MT10. That’s a tough pill to swallow.

@@RUZTY1311I’m just looking at the reality of the market place. The old 1.0 was competing against 4-6S Arrmas and the like, at least it was for me. @hashimrahman51 You have to look at it beyond the price. What you get with Tekno is far superior over Arrma and a LOT of other brands. Arrmas 6s line is going for $699-749 so they arent too far off. Obviously you arent accounting for the rest of what you need to buy, but if you budget buy the electronics, you can finish at around 850-900 and have a much better truck than anything Arrma can release. I dont think a new MT48 would be above $600, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. If its going to be built around that same platform as the ET 2.0, well then maaaaybe haha

Premium 1/10 MT for sure. Maybe a niche market but some folks do want that premium build in a more compact size. The Traxxas, Arrma, and TA options have a less refined more entry level feel in either regular 1/10 size or lets call it 1/10 XL for the 4S trucks. Tekno needs to revise those those shocks though. Pistons breaking on larger but perhaps not super extreme jumps isn't a good look for a premium truck especially if the entry level trucks can handle it!
