My only issue with this amazing innovation is that there are few animations, based on the number of chars with relations that could be explored. I want the sequels to keep this style and only expand from here. The early history of special battle intros is that they were invented by SNK in Fatal Fury, but it was very limited. Then SNK liked the idea and the fan reaction, and greatly expanded special battle intros in KOF. Though the latest games since KOF 13 are not examples to see their good work... It's actually KOF 98, 02 and 11. The idea was so popular in the mid 90s that Capcom also used it for SF and notably CvS2. So in that same sense I hope the Tekken devs only expand this battle intro style from this excellent start. Now to be fair, it must not be very easy to make these character specific cinematic animations. And again, this is an "insignificant" detail that doesn't affect gameplay, yet the devs are spending money and time in these things... and T7 didnt need any of that to be a big seller. So im glad that they made the extra effort.
