It’s crazy being 33 years old and remembering walking through arcades seeing tekken 1 and 2 emptying large cups of quarters fighting long lines of players. Now so many generations later this is what we’ve come to. Brings tears to my eyes tekken was my first game I ever owned on my first PSX for Christmas as a kid🥲

As someone who's 34, I also remember the good old days before online play, when arcades were the place to *be*, and quarters lined the screen for everyone's chance to throw down. Now, arcades are dead. But the hype of Tekken lives on 😁🤌

Well said. Although Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and King of Fighters were my initial fighting game series that I started out with, Tekken has become my all time favorite fighting game franchise over 20+ years and probably will be for a long time 💯

The graphical leap between Tekken 7 and Tekken 8 is quite possibly the single biggest upgrade in the franchise. Tekken 7 was made on a budget but I'm so glad we have a Tekken game that can FULLY exploit the power of it's current gen console

Thats because tekken 7 was graphically a step back from tag 2 actually lol. Allegedly the models are actually better but someone fucked up the LOD setting when porting them to unreal engine and the models despite being better are always displayed in a slightly lower quality but I dont actually know if thats true, all I know is objectively tekken tag 2 looks better

Yes, its big step up!!! But I think bigger bigger leap was from Tekken 3 to 4. Anyway it looks awesome...maybe not perfect like a little lack of polygons(especially on ears) and some textures sticks out...but of course performance is main target in such game so 4k 60 with this graphics is great!

They absolutely hit it out of the fucking universe with the music. Never EVER was I so PUMPED while listening to music.

I was born in 89, I had the first tekken since 96 and had everyone since then. My fondest memories were shared most with my father, once my little brothers started gaming, tekken was a must in the family household. My little brothers are teenagers now and my dad no longer plays but he likes watching us play. I'm 33, have two daughters and they are all over Tekken 7. I dont care how much this game costs, ill pay double. This game got me through rough times in my life and I want to dedicate serious time into playing this. Tekken is life, and it was my life. I'm coming home with this on release day.

Dude, the differences are so crazy to me. I still love it though. -the start of this fight was clashing jump kicks instead of the arcade intro with clashing fists -their clothes is there defualt sets without their tops torn from their previous encounter from the atmosphere -kazuya's devil eye glow is gone as Jin cleansed their Devil Genes -Jin's Super animation was the other super (Electric Thrusting Uppercut, EWHF, and a follow up jump kick) This scene and animation are mostly the same shot for shot remained the same though, which still surprises me. So glad Im playing this game and super satisfied with the Story for Jin. I thought it was supposed to be his mastery over the Devil Gene, but this is way better both in multiplayer and story

One year later and this trailer still gives me goosebumps! 😆

Then, when my parents finally bought a Playstation 1 console for me and my friends because I had good grades in school, I started fighting my friends every weekend. Then I fought them on PSP, PS3, PS4 and PC. Now, we have come to this. Thank you so much, Bandai Namco. Tekken will always be our favorite fighting game. P.S. Tekken inspired me to be a student and teacher of Muay Thai and Filipino Knife Fighting Arts. I've been training these arts for 9 years now. 💪🙏

@@deangelis777 it's just Tekken 7 in unreal engine 5 most probably, but what hypes us is not innovations in a Tekken game, half of us wants something to change in the command lists some of us doesn't, some of us wanted the rage arts, some of us hated it. Tekken it self has its own combat that fans seems to love more than the other fighting games so not much can be improved on something that is already better than most fighting games according to fan base. What hypes us is it's another Tekken title, and every title always something new in the command list that we may or may not like but creating a new combos has never been disappointing. New title means new content, new story, this one has huge graphic improvement because for me Tag 2 is better than 7 but 7 still hyped me up.

I am sure that graphics is not main reason why people play in Tekken. I also don't care about story at all. Most players just skip the story mode and go to play online. And story in Tekken always seemed to be primitive and dumb for me. No new content was shown, I wanna see in Tekken 8 huge improvements in online playing, better netcode, better and more balanced gameplay etc. but this trailer is just updated version of Tekken 7 in UE 5 engine

@@deangelis777 dude it's literally the first trailer they ain't gonna show the new meta without having to release it yet, and like I said, new title means new command list, new command list means new combos as well as new ways to fight, a slight difference in distance already change how some of us fight. You don't care about graphics because gameplay first right? Of course you ain't gonna be hyped up about it, but Tekken's combat mechanics never disappoint except the first release of vanilla 7 yet 7 sold so we are sure it's already good, as for the story yep story is definitely weird but the personal feuds just hypes up for the next fight they do, especially the mishimas. Also new titles means new content probably worse or probably better, 7 customizations is disappointing considering Tag 2 and 6 had it way better, some of us also likes to play around offline modes but 7 didn't have much offline content compared to the previous titles. If you want something completely new to the combat itself, then something similar to the rage arts might exist probably something better probably something worse, but if you want a completely new way to fight then most probably you gonna have to switch to another game

I absolutely adore how this trailer is a call back to the opening movie of Tekken 7 with Kazyua and Heihachi fighting in the volcano. There’s a lot of parallels in both trailers, but my favorite is the end with Kazyua and Jin using a portion of their Devil Form to close out the scene and introduce the title.

Started with Tekken Tag 1 myself personally. Was like 4 or 5 when I played it over a relative's house and got HOOKED nigh instantly because of how it looked. I was also terrified of Unknown/Jun.

I don't know how to explain it well but I think Tekken 8 has finally captured the way that Kazuya looks in my head. They look so good

@YoungWolfe15 Yeah thanks to Heihachi, the Mishima family is an utter mess. All he had to do to keep Kazuya from become an utter monster was make sure he wouldn't be consumed by the devil gene. Easier said than done, but Jun did it with Jin, so it's possible.

While I don't see that happening, I think Kazuya calling Jin pathetic for saying people like him shouldn't exist does carry some weight to it. Jins obsessive hatred for his own blood has always been his greatest character flaw. Take, for example, Tekken 6, where he was willing to throw the world into chaos to eradicate the Devil Gene. I think that if Jin has a character arc in this game, he'll come to understand that his baggage doesn't define him, and even after all he's been through and all he's done, he can still go on living.

My first Tekken was 2. My goodness, look how far we've come! GET READY FOR THE NEXT BATTLE!

What i hope to see in tekken 8 as improvement is proper match start/end interaction between characters. This trailer shows a really good match start by the 2 of them saying something to each other followed by an attack into match start, if all characters can have proper interaction and start/end its gonna make it very nice. Most fighter games have done well in that aspect and i find Tekken to be lacking in it. Other than that i dunno chief, im giga hyped for Tekken. It's my favorite fighting game franchise.

Honestly after seeing guilty gear strive intros. The flashy random kicks into the center of the screen and saying a one liner is welcome. Strive intros and outros are horrid and lack any style whatsoever. But yeah some unique dialogue or interactions between the two characters would be cool. Unfortunately/fortunately this is story mode footage so they're being a little extra cinematic with it. Who knows what will make it into the real fights.

At the time of this comment's posting, it will have been exactly one year since this trailer dropped. I was enamored by the amazing graphics, the kickass music, and most of all, the implication that resident main protagonist, Jin Kazama, had finally gained control of his Devil Gene, and was ready to end the Mishima Feud once and for all. I, like many others, can not wait for the release of Tekken 8 next year. Get Ready For The Next Battle, everyone!

Nice little detail in this is how Kazuya doesn't seem at all angry at Jin, and it's more over him testing his son as opposed to how he was with Heihachi or Paul in that he wanted them dead, or was visibly far more pissed off. I hope that this is expanded upon in Tekken 8's campaign.

Check out the dodge Kazuya did when Jin threw out the EWHF at 0:47, would be dope if they implemented actual dodging aside from side stepping. Mofos would be getting counter hit crumpled all day but still lol. And look at those water effects 🔥

The first time I played Tekken was way back in 1995 on my friends PS1 and later on arcades. I fell in love right then and there. It’s crazy that we are getting the 8th one in the main series. 27 years and still going strong.

Why would they , this is one probably in the story mode where the final battle starts minus the camera angle. Better keep so people can see it in the game instead of getting spoiled too much, I wouldn't want that for myself .

My wife couldn't understand why I gasped so loudly when I saw this trailer and my reaction when watching it. I grew up with Tekken, it was a warmth in the cold in those days. I can't wait to play this.

Looking forward to see JUN KAZAMA in this game since she's heavily related to both Jin and Kazuya. Her status is unknown (not officially confirmed to be dead) so she may still be alive.

even if she's actually dead, they will most surely bring her back into the roster with a flashback, like they did with Kazumi, so yeah, Jun is definetly coming back

One of the few games I'd pre-order, its worth full price I dont care if its $70 the replayability is through the roof

Tekken 7 coast 59€s around when it was day 1 in my place ( Portugal )

decided to revisit this after the Lars trailer and I can confidently say this trailer looks so unique and different to the more recent reailers because of the stage and the lessened effects. it definitely carries the older Tekken aesthetic and is a far superior version of what we've seen before, whereas the newer trailers are something completely new and different. don't get me wrong, the game looks great, but this trailer is just special.

I just wish Kazuya looked older, like in Tekken 4 or 5.

This give me such nostalgia as me and my sister played Tekken 5 on our parents ps2 She was such an amazing Yoshimitsu main and ALWAYS WON, God,I'm gonna plug it back in a have some fun with her again

This is actually what we got. The characters are more lit up during play cuz having it darkened like this will not translate well in game. It would have been like playing with the lights off lol

Sounds like Jin has a new voice actor. He sounds really good imo, although I will miss that iconic "DAH" and "TSU"

YES! Man this brings me back so many memories. I remember just playing this game on my own on the arcade and a someone would come forward and challenge me to one (I won ofc ). Hopefully, this version arrives on the arcade as well.

I keep coming back here it's the music and gameplay for me

Tekken 8 proves that no matter how much the graphics change, the feud between Jin and Kazuya _REMAINS THE SAME._ It changed the outside of the game, not the inside of it. 😂

@@emmanuelbongar7370 Yeah you're right, Kazuya's issues were with his father more than his son. He barely interacted with Jin because he was dead in Tekken 3, the Tekken 4 storyline was more about Kazuya seeking revenge against Heihachi, and Jin just happened to be in the middle of it.

Mannnn been waiting on this one and I can’t wait to see how they intertwine Jin back into this storyline.

@@NneonNTJ My comment is a year old. The trailer is deceptive in how it mixes gameplay and cutscenes together, lots of cinematic shots are mixed in. Comparing this trailer to the Fallen Destiny stage in the final game you can see a clear difference in graphics.

Been a fan since I was a kid, my dad got me a PSP and bought himself Tekken 6, I got into it too and mained Devil Jin, used to think Jin and Kazuya were brothers and Heihachi was their old mentor gone evil, as I grew up I played the others, I love all of them but Tag 2 is my personal favorite, T7 was pretty good, but lacked in graphics, overall story mode, hopefully T8 brings back T5's Story Battle and T6 customization, Team Battle and Jun Kazama to explain where she's been and OG Raven, and Bruce. Hyped for this one, hope Namco doesn't disappoint 🙏 🔥🔥

This is great! Graphics are looking incredible. I'm excited to see how they wrap up the Mishima drama, and I hope Jun makes an appearance in the game. Also, hoping that they are planning on doing Tekken x Street Fighter and Tekken Tag 3.

I hope I'm wrong ..but this trailer looks better physics wise and graphics wise than the newer and fuller trailer.. there's also completely brand new animations in this trailer...the animations in the newer trailer had more familiar/recycled animations used.. just an observation..looking forward to seeing more of my fave game anyways 🔥🦾👊🏽

It's CGI, not actual gameplay. I realized it back then by looking at the camera cuts of certain moves.

Dude the last few weeks has been good to be a Tekken fan. We got the anime, KOF did a Tekken 7 Round 2 collab, and now we got the Tekken 8 teaser. God bless Tekken

Definitely not the first time rewatching and definitely not the last time.

I am SO EXCITED! What a trailer! The graphics, the animations, the moves, the music, everything. CAN'T WAIT

I hope they improve the customization because in Tekken 7 all the custom pants and shirts look so clunky and thick

Jin’s Rage Art looks way better here. If they wanted to keep it a simple one punch, this is the perfect one. No dialogue or anything. And the winning pose where he catches the feather without dialogue once again makes it better
