I mean, while the connection is there, their dynamic has never been familial close. Nina is cold to most people and wants nothing to do with him, with that mercy in "Stay away from me" summed up well the most she shows to Steve while Steve just not wanting to fight her captures well where he is. But yeah, they were NEVER close.

@@story_marc Yeah I'm not saying they were close but there WAS a story there that Namco never really bothered fleshing out after T4. You could use the same argument that Heihachi and Lars never had a close relationship. But Namco still made sure to remind you that the two were related. This just feels like dialogue that could've been exchanged with any character you put Nina and Steve up against.

​@@RandomBlackGamer Heihachi and Lars' case was to emphasize that the latter is the "white sheep" of the Mishima bloodline. Their one interaction in T6's Scenario Campaign was based off of that idea. Nina, being who she is, has wanted nothing to do with Steve since T4. There was never really any relationship for them to go off given that they never interacted up until T7, and even then much of the "character scenarios" there are iffy to say the least as to whether they are canon or not.

Yeah, it's not really a rivalry if it's one sided. It'd be kind of sad, I want more for Paul. Maybe this is the one where he canonically beats Kuma? Tekken 9 giving us Kuma with Paul's moveset in honour of the man who spent (Six? Seven?) iron fist tournaments getting filtered by a bear?

This story potential reminds me of what I experienced in Devil May cry 5. Where so much of the lore I thought would be lost to obscurity forever FINALLY gets brought up again and expanded on.

In all honesty tho. I actually do like how Shaheen plays. He's simple and effective and fun. Reminds me of a long limbed and Uber easy Law or Lee. Maybe it's just the slide mixup that's making me feel that way.

And if the T7 Arcade Episode ending for Shaheen is canon then Shaheen was willing to honor his best friend's request and not give into vengeance and kill Kazuya after their fight seemingly beating him granted this was because Kazuya held back and was in human form so in honoring his best friend's request Shaheen gave Kazuya the chance to redeem himself and offered him a job at his company(yes according to the canon Shaheen is wealthy and owns his own successful private security business) but Kazuya being well Kazuya just jumps off the building and then turns into his partial Devil Form and flies off in front of Shaheen with Shaheen now realizing how big of a threat Kazuya is vows to stop him even if it means killing him if given no other choice in order to protect the world.

I don’t know if they don’t, but imho we have to keep in mind that their relationship may evolve in story mode… so maybe their intro won’t be so meaningful for now.

I think people fail to understand characters's psychology... Nina has a soft spot for her son, its just that she never gave consent to have a son and she is an assassin so its too much to handle. Its understandable that she just leaves all this mess behind because she can't just change her life like that. I think that having spared her son's life proves that she cares for him deep down but its too late for her to act like a mom. She can't just go from cold blooded assassin to warm hearted mom.

some of us think that nina will betray kazuya at the end, since she never liked him (g corp is the one that put her into cryosleep). And Nina has worked with Jin in T6 before and share a professional relationship to him

@@edwinlim2272 I doubt. She didn’t think twice in working with Heihachi after losing to him in control of the zaibatsu. She still remains as a jobber to any spot in Tekken and this position with g corp has become the most recent. Not quite easy to escape with since g corp is on threat list. She’s on villain list as well. I do see her losing impact on story or anything after Tekken 8
