They purposefully left jin out of this story as Tekken 7 story is named as "Mishima Saga" Jin is mishima because of his bloodline but refuses to be identified as mishima. He calls himself a "Kazama" which is his motherside family(His mother name is "Jun Kazama"). His mother was the only thing keeping him sane. After his mother went missing. This is after he realized he had devil blood after learning about his father. Jin till Tekken 7 was more of an anti-hero maybe they will change him to a hero in tekken 8. He just want to end the devil bloodline hence the purpose to kill kaz. Like you saw in tekken 8 trailer it will be between the next generation of father and son.

    1. Lars is probably the closest thing to a true protagonist main character this series has ever seen. He was the main character of Tekken 6 and his journey with Alisa, Lee, and Raven (a Wesley Snipes ninja) was the story mode essentially. Lars's goals and motives have been consistently selfless and for the greater good. There's not much purity when it comes to the Mishima story, but Lars and Alisa are about as pure as you can get. 2. The dichotomy of Kazuya and Jin is such a beautiful and telling story about how our experiences we have lived have more of an impact on who we are as people than the circumstances we were born into and raised under. Both Kazuya and Jin were born with the Devil Gene to fathers who were...questionable at best. Kazuya grew up believing his father murdered his mom and then his father tried to kill him. Jin was raised by a loving mother who was killed by a "monster" that was connected to the Devil Gene. Kazuya grew up hating Heihachi and had the sole goal of killing him. Jin grew up hating the Devil Gene and had the sole goal of ending the bloodline of the Devil Gene. The "funny" part is that they both are willing to go to EXTREME measures to achieve their goals, something they both inherited from Heihachi.

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames As far as we know, it’s intentionally inconclusive. And since we know Kazuya was in the Tekken 8 trailer, they either: A. Made Akuma lose (to which I highly doubt Capcom would let that happen) B. Akuma got sucked into another world again because him and Ryu can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to being dragged to another world. (When it comes to crossovers, Akuma, Ryu, Chun-li, and Ken seem to be the most common picks. Akuma and Ryu especially.) It’s honestly up in the air whether Akuma shows up in Tekken 8, but if he does, more SF characters might make an appearance too.

My way of seeing things, Kazumi, in devil while being choked, was trying to trick Heihachi to kill him. He knew that & felt regret killing her. SHE triggered the Heihachi we know. HOWEVER HE TRIES TO KILL KAZUYA INSTEAD OF RAISING HIM TO BE BETTER THAN HIM & HIS WIFE. WHICH LEADS TO HIM BEING A SHIT TO JIN. ALSO HEIHACHI SCREWED UP LARS. HE RAISED LEE LIKE GARBAGE. HE CO RAISED JIN WHEN KAZUYA WAS THOUGHT DEAD THEN TRIED TO SHOOT JIN WHEN HE WAS DONE WITH USING HIM. Heihachi SUCKS. Kazuya in turn SUCKS. Jin caused WW3 so the devil gene could be wiped but turned out to be a LIE & Jin lives with the guilt & WILL ACTUALLY TRY TO FIX HIS MISTAKE unlike Heihachi & Kazuya. Jin is the hero but a hero who thought doing anything to be rid of the evil would atleast do good & was willing to take the punishment only for it to fail & now as a fallen hero will try to end the big conflict without such awful alternative methods (maybe) & likely doesn't see that he will be redeemed in the public, however, he knows Kazuya is evil & will kill him with the power he hates so much. The Devil Gene.

Jun was the only one that made Kazuya feel compassion, but when he came back she was “dead”, so I can imagine Kazuya sinking further into darkness because the only one who cared about him was gone. Jin, Imma be honest I could imagine that he tried many other experiments to get rid of his devil gene, he obviously had the resources for experiments at the end of T5, so maybe he went mad when it all failed until he discovered Azazel, and felt he had nothing to lose.

47:55 You've definitely got the right way to enjoy tekken's story Bethany there's some people and stories that you can cheer for and are likeable if you are invested and hooked if not then this is a good place to put a pin in tekken since your basically all caught up now. But if you're interested there's a video called '' the insane lore of tekken '' it's very informative and hilarious but pretty long for what you're guys are used to I would recommend cutting it up for one game or if it's to long two games at a time since it covers the seven games. But you don't really need to it's just up to you guys if you found it fun and wanna dig deeper

I'd love to see you guys react to all the character endings of the franchise, they're fantastically entertaining, if ranging in the quality of storytelling from time to time. A bit more about Nina; she's a cold blooded assassin that has an intense rivalry with her sister Anna. And by intense I mean they once had a days long gun battle lol. She is so utterly focused on the job, to the point where (I'm not actually sure if this is still canon) she was brainwashed as a child to feel as little emotion as possible. Neverthless, there are still points throughout the series, especially early on, where it's hinted that she might feel more emotion than she lets on. Couple bits of trivia about her, she's the only female character to appear in every main game so far, and she's also the only Tekken character to have a solo spin off game! It's called Death By Degrees.

My personal favorite fighter in Tekken is Lili (Emilie De Rochefort), not so much her character as much as her fighting style. I fully expect to get a lot of flack for playing as her. She's just very light on her feet and I love that even if many people hate playing against her because of that. As a character she's... not the greatest. She's not a bad person, just a little spoiled maybe. Super rich and fights just for the fun of it. Not a very strong fighter, don't think she has won a single tournament canonically, but not the strongest in the game either. The bad part is that I can only play 1, or 3 matches max in one session as my body gets overrun with too much adrenalin that even my hands shake and get super sweaty.

Nina works for whomever pays- up to and including killing her sister's fiancee. She is definitely not Black Widow. Tekken has a fair share of stereotypes; it also has a slew of characters that completely break the mold. There are good guys Ling, King, Paul; but everyone in the game is a shade of grey, except Panda and Ling. JIn's mother Jun would also be an example of the right thing done the right way... except she's got some current issues of her own, like being dead and possessed. The Hachijo clan are Onis of retribution and balance, They punish the wicked and corrupt, the human sides handles worldy stuff and Onis handle the big stuff. Yoshimitsu has directed his clan to a very similar vein, but his sword is pure evil, for only evil can understand the hearts of evil, which is why he uses it to dispatch villains. Gouki was likely saved by Kasumi from Gen, a world class assassin whose body literally exudes poison, he's used it so often. Gouki and Gen fought for years until Gouki finally defeated him for good. "eyebrows" Kazuya actually uses static electricity to hold his hair in place. Jin actually addressed Ken's final point in Tekken 5: Dark Retribution; he really doesn't care how's he's judged, taking the world back from the silent supernatural schism that existed for ages is all that matters, and since the death of his mother Jun and him learning the truth of his father and grandfather, it's been his sole goal and anyone in the way is a problem, no matter how well directed their intentions might be. He doesn't care about being the villain of the story as long as the story ends with people being free from the looming danger ahead. Ling and Paul have both pointed out to him that the end never justifies the means but the death of his mother has set him on a path he refuses to leave even though he knows he's causing as much pain as he hopes to end.

The Necron lore is filled with pain, sorrow, suffering, but ultimately leads to the most badass 40k Faction imo. There is alot in the video besides the lore and idk how hip you are to 40k yet but I know you will appreciate the story and Weshammers telling of it (he is a gifted story teller).

I love Tekken so much. The main character not being a good guy. None of the main names really. Heihachi and Jin also did a lot of awful things out of selfishness. So you are put in a spot as a player to choose whom you consider the lesser of the evils. But even if Kazuya is a hard choice to pick you still feel sympathy in that moment when he has the flashbacks to Heihachi throwing him off the cliff. Even his red demon eye fades slightly as if showing you that the Kazuya struggling to get back on his feet at that moment is the same grief stricken child that tried to stand his ground in vain years ago. When Kazuya finally defeats his father and ensures his demise, Heihachi's words echo in his mind showing that despite their differences, they did agree on one thing. Fighting is about winning. Being the last one standing is all that matters. Regardless of how it is achieved. I'm excited to see where Tekken 8 takes the rivalry of Jin and Kazuya but I don't think the world of Tekken will know peace until no remnants of the Mishima remain.

Well actually that's just it characters like Negan and Noctis are special guest characters Akuma was not a special guest. This game tried to show he is capable of feeling love. But is willing to make tough decisions to further his goals or if there's an obstacle is his way. As much as he loved her, kazumi became an obstacle and needed to die. Kazuya is also a bad man. Heihachi throwing him off a cliff just jumped started him on his path. 1:26:26 Bethany to be fair she tried to kill him before already and she came attacked him and revealed that their marriage is all a fake trick to kill him and she's also an actual demon and then when he thought the fight was over it was a trick so she could try to kill him a 3RD time when he's off guard and then when she was in a disadvantageous position she all of sudden is back trying to persuade him with pretending to be his sweet wife again and was also reaching her hand with a sinister look when he averted his eyes so she can try and kill him a potential 4th time at some point the law of self defense has apply. and he was also crying after he snapped her neck the tears weren't obvious but they were there. He is sympathetic when it comes to the situation of his wife but not when it comes to the situation with kazuya there kazuya is the one who is sympathetic. With that making them both two people who suffered horrible traumatic events that messed them up which make you sympathize with them a little bit but they're also horrible people who did terrible things like what heihachi did to kazuya and kazuya abandoning jin and not giving a damn about jin or his mom and set them on two clashing paths that are essentially the same .pure evil world domination. that's why this story line is cool
