This is probably the most honest documentary clip I've watched regarding Iran that's not biased or one-sided. I grew up in south west of Tehran not so far from many of the places shown in this video. I've actually been to many of the locations showcased in the video both in the South and North of Iran. I've been living in the US for several years now and seeing how everything has remained just the same or more or less has gotten worse, especially for the low-income class is very difficult to watch. I don't think the government would ever consider dealing with this horrible situation. As long as I can remember, the income disparity has always been huge and is growing more than ever and never stops. Sadly, the majority of the rich are actually those who shape government officials.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. It's valuable to hear firsthand accounts like yours, which provide insight into the lived experiences of people in Iran, especially regarding socioeconomic challenges. Income disparity and lack of government action on these issues are indeed concerning, and it's understandable that witnessing little to no improvement over the years can be disheartening. Your observation about the influence of the wealthy on government officials reflects a broader issue of corruption and its impact on governance and societal well-being. It's essential to continue raising awareness about these issues and advocating for positive change. Your input adds depth to our understanding of the situation in Iran, and I appreciate your willingness to share your thoughts.

This is a good video for showing these brutal contrasts. It's the same everywhere and it is the central problem facing this planet. Unfortunately the global elites have their own dark plan which has to be exposed and fought against. What is happening Gaza is only the beginning and is having the effect of getting us used to horror as something normal. For all the poverty I prefer south Tehran which at least has life and character. the North is just anodyne and an anywhere/nowhere sort of place.

Your preference for the vibrancy of South Tehran over the North highlights the significance of community and culture amidst challenges.

Yes, there are brutal contrasts in quality of life and income inequality in Iran, as we can see. The same ones that you can find in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, India,, China, South Africa and many other ‘developing countries’. I don’t think that this is at all a problem of religion (Islam), but a problem of social and economical system, both regarding the inner economy of a given country and its position in the Global Economy. And believe, I’m not Muslim, not even religious, I’m a secular Scottish liberal/democratic socialist that happened to have lived for many years in ‘developing countries’ (mainly Chile, Argentina and Mexico), so my “Western bias” has been clearly diminished. Cheers. And great documentary by the way. I’m looking forward to visit Iran!

You're correct. Income inequality is indeed a persistent issue in many large cities worldwide, shaped by various social, economic, and political dynamics. Difference is In Iran, particularly in Tehran, the majority of people are considered poor due to the high poverty line compared to the average income. Iran is not a third world country and has all the resources, geographical advantages, educated workforce and solid historical precedences to be quite developed and for it's citizens to be happy and relatively wealthy. So to say things like poverty, homelessness and child labor exists everywhere is not doing Iran justice. In more advanced countries homelessness is almost never due to poverty, but caused by substance abuse for the most part. Iran could be doing a lot better, as it has done historically. But for now we are occupied by a government that has no care or sense of belonging to Iran and who is willing to sacrifice every last Iranian in the advancement of their 7th century cult.

It's more rational to compare Iran's economic stats to those of its neighbors or other Middle Eastern countries, taking into account the economic sanctions imposed by the civilized West, instead of comparing them with European states. It's easy to see that Iran is performing much better than any Middle Eastern state. While there may be corruption in administration, it pales in comparison to pro-Western states like my country, Pakistan. If you question human rights violations in Iran, look at states like Iraq, Pakistan, India, Lebanon, Arab states, and even China. As an outsider, Iran is performing admirably from defense to dealing with Western sanctions. When Western puppets rule, it's disastrous, as they often sell out their public and state interests for the benefit of a big power thousands of miles away.

"The number of millionaires in Iran has exploded despite the country suffering under U.S. sanctions and the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2020, the number of high net worth individuals (HNWIs) in Iran grew by 21.6%, way above the global average of 6.3%. The collective wealth of these dollar millionaires grew even faster at 24.3%."

Nice Video Really Going Deep, But The Important Thing To Add Here Is That Every City Even The Best Of The Best Have A More Poor Region And A Richer One, Is There Inequality In Iran? YES But This Is Not A Good Demonstration Cause Everywhere Is Like This + The People In "Northen" Tehran Are The Same Normal People In The South Tehran They Both Suffer From The Government, Do You Except Drug Addicts And Their Family (In a section of the video it is said : Turn It Down, Behdad Is Having Headaches "smoking drugs") To Live Any Where Better Or A Guy From A Normal Family And His Family Getting Educated And Being Far Away For The Social Dangers? So Im Saying Its All Butterflies And Sunshines And Everything Is Normal? NOPE It Could've Been A Better Topic To Show The Government Incompetent For Social Welfcare For The Poor , If You Want To Show Inequality You Gotta Go Take A Look The Corrupt High Ranks :P A lil thing to add is to search The Same Thing For The Cites Of Usa? (fine you might say they are too big) in that case search the same thing for London Madrid Rome Even Cities Smaller Than Tehran (Tehran Metropolitan Area Has Near 8-9.5 Million Of Citizen Living In It) Hope These Stereotypes End.

The period of bigoted and violent men in Iran has almost disappeared for years, unless a man is strict with his wife due to mental problems and pessimism... the fact that women are not seen in the places you posted a video about is mostly because of the unhealthy nature of that place. There are women who prefer not to visit that place... because you posted a video of places where only addicts and criminals can be seen, and not only from the south of Tehran.@@visitera

I'm surprised to see women without the Islamic headdress. I thought it was mandatory 🤔 Here in the United States, we have the same issues . Homeless people sleep along our sidewalks, some with tents and some without. They sleep in parking lots, doorways , and public restrooms, and I've even seen them living in tents in the middle of the roads. The United States is not a place filled with privileged people like the world believes.

I much prefer the south. Maybe it is just my impression, but the “poor” side just seems older, more traditional, but I see plenty of food just maybe not the “fancy” westernized looked of the north. My idea of “poor” is very different knowing truly poor parts of the world. I would feel a lot safer in the South of Iran than in the average city in the US. To be honest believe it or not by looking at this video I would say the south has more future than the north. The so called “rich” area will end up (if it’s not already there) having much less children, an empty, materialistic shell like the west with no future, it is all a facade.
