Teens VANISHED at Sea for 50 Days After One Bad Decision

Ойын-сауық

The crewman on the ship San Nikunau first saw it-a glint in the water, metallic and out of place. He called to the navigator, and the 280-foot vessel adjusted its course, avoiding a collision. As the ship drew nearer, the object became clearer: an aluminum dinghy, small and fragile against the vast Pacific. It was late afternoon on November 24, 2010. The San Nikunau, hailing from New Zealand, was far from land, days out from Fiji, in an endless expanse of water.
This wasn't your typical lost boat. The dinghy was fourteen feet long, designed for lakes or calm shores, not the wild, open ocean. It had no business being here. If the ship had passed even a quarter mile away, it would have gone unnoticed. It looked like another piece of the ocean's flotsam, abandoned and empty. But then, as the ship closed in, something unexpected happened. From the bottom of the dinghy, a single arm emerged. It was thin, sunburned, and waving weakly for help.
This wasn't just any lost sailors. There were three of them, as it turned out. Three boys, barely teenagers (Filo Filo, 15, Samu Tonuia, 15, and Etueni Nasau, 14) from the Tokelauan island of Atafu. They were naked and skeletal. Their skin was blistered, tongues swollen from thirst. They had nothing-no food, no water, no clothing, no fishing gear, no life vests, no first-aid kit. They were near death. They had been missing for a staggering fifty-one days, lost at sea in a tiny boat with only coconuts, rainwater, and sheer will to keep them alive.
This video explores their incredible true story of survival. Against all odds, these boys endured the unimaginable. We'll delve into their ordeal, their fight for life, and the rescue that brought them home.

@ 1:07 Why do you say barely teenagers? 2 of them are 15... halfway into their teenage years

A teenager is someone who is 13 to 19 years old. That is why I said barely teenagers, as they were 14 and 15 years old.
