Abba had a lot of big hits, but, there is a lot of great songs to be discovered, lots of hidden gems who will be your new favorites. They where BIG in the 70s...but i think they are even bigger now! Their music is real.... Timeless 😊

Thank you Chase for reacting to this. This came out in 1980 and was a huge dance hit. ABBA really pushed the envelope with this synthesized dance hit, and Agnetha's lead was mesmerizing. As you are seeing, ABBA has so many sides and continually pushes the envelope. Awesome reaction.

you could poll 100 ABBA fans and get 30 different answers. Depending on the mood I'm in I could pick any one of 80, and that's not all of them. They did more than 120. If the 80 weren't so good, I'm sure the remaining 40 or so would be on my list. I simply do not know of another group who have produced so many quality songs. I guess the reason can be attributed to talent and their hard work.

This was one of their über-popular dance songs in the late 70s. Just imagine a packed dance floor, no lights except for different colored spots sweeping back and forth across the crowd, that heavy bass from the speakers pounding against your chest. Mmm such memories!

@@Lisa-M Don't get me wrong. Agnetha is a world class singer. Frida is more versatile and beyond world class. I refuse to pick favorites. When it comes to the ABBA sound it is this simple, if either woman was not part of the group there would be no ABBA sound, regardless of who replaced them.

The song was released as an EP in a few countries and was a top ten hit in the UK and Ireland. This lyric was only created a few years ago. There is also a long version of Gimme, Gimme (A Man After Midnight) with the synthi-bass middle section, but the old video is mostly playing in the background.

Another great reaction. This was very much a stand alone song as it was not taken from any studio album. Here in the UK it was only released in 12" format rather than the cheaper 7" and even though double the price it still got to number 7. If it had been released in both formats I belive this would have been their 10th no.1. For me it remains famous for the great rhyming of sensible and incomprehensible, and remember English was not their native language, masterful.

I think it would have made it bigger if it was 7 inch too coupled with the unheard at the time 'Put on your white Sombrero" and keep the 12 inch release too but with a longer dance mix.Neverthless it became the best selling 12 inch ever in the UK back then and went even bigger when released in GOLD album and the Mamma Mta play and film.

Try their hit "The Visitors", one of their last releases begore breaking up and probably one of their hardest hitting numbers, with a very imperative, driving feel. It's based on oppressive and intrusive government. Quite a banger.

This period is when Benny fully embraced the synth sounds of his new keyboards. Whilst it created new sounds, he also replaced original instrumentation with imitation keyboard versions which I don't think was a good thing. They lost some of their original soundscape and I think it diminished subsequent works. Some will disagree.

What you are listening to is Benny and Bjorn working the Synth (Synthesizer). They are masters of it. What you saw is their new lyric video. ABBA paid a company to refresh their original videos and also create new ones for their other popular songs and to bring them into this Millennia. Some have a 70s Disco look to them, yet looks cool for today. They are very clever on rebranding their own image.

hello, have a good day, so nice to see you again with more ABBA songs "Lay all your love on me" (1980) It is part of the album "Super Trouper" and it was their third single in 1981, the first in 12" format, it was #7 in UK Charts and #1 in US Dance Charts "Lay all your love on me" takes up in an isolated way the disco style left by his previous album "Voulez Vous" It has an extraordinary production, especially for voices and choirs It's pretty good (7/7,5pts), but it doesn't appeal to me as much as other ABBA songs. I admit that personally I don't like disco music that much (actually, since I don't like dancing too) Still, in this disco genre, I like them a little more those that You fue before: As good as new Gimme gimme gimme and those that you didn't yet: "If it wasn't for the nights" (ABBA's best disco track) Summer Night City (live perfomance) Voulez Vous This is one ot these that I like the least of the 20 Top10 that ABBA has in the UK This explain highly of sublime quality of ABBA's most successful singles (between 7.5pts / 10pts) In their time ABBA did not have an official video (like for "The winner takes all"; "Super trouper" and "Happy new year", this last one in Spanish too, from the same album) But in this historic return of ABBA it became more important, because it is included (with shocking futuristic images) in the setlist of the new Voyage concerts, and was also chosen for the new official lyric videos that ABBA is launching a year ago, that is the new lyrics videos with more views Thanks again for bringing ABBA's music I wish you a happy weekend Kind regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷 South America PS: the lead Comeback songs of ABBA in the new album Voyage (2021) are "I still have faith in You" & "Don't shut me down" (the last was #1 in Sweden and Top10 in UK among others charts in the world) you should react both, ABBA at their +70 years
