    Donaire WAS HELPED by the ref when he ran after the body shot, the ref stopped Inoue from hitting him again while he was still up running and then took a knee. If the ref wouldn't stop Inoue, Donaire probably would've been knocked out.

    Yeah Donaire had both his arms down and looking down while strolling away, Inoue was running in for the kill, he would've taken his head off or broken a rib. Ref also counted 10 while Donaire gloves were still in the canvas surprisingly. But it doesn't really matter, rounds 11 and 12 were great to see. Ref only really did a disservice to Donaire who took a lot of punishment in the rest of round 11.

    If you watch the Ref's hands when he goes from 5 to 6, you can see he only counts to 9. Ringside Counter was one count ahead of him after 2 or 3.

  • @sebaba001

    @sebaba001

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@timediverx But ringside has the right count. Ref is supposed to catch on from ringside. Ringside starts counting when the fighter hits the floor, while the ref sends the other fighter to the corner, then the ref needs to follow ringsides count. And you can hear 10 in the audio, the same count that Donaire was hearing from the microphone on the refs shirt.

    The reason Inoue was catching those Donaire haymakers from time to time was because Inoue said he was seeing double the rest of the fight after suffering the eye injury in the 2nd round. According to him, he was boxing on pure instinct the rest of the fight and was having trouble seeing Donaire. That's a testament to what kind of heart Inoue has to continue the fight after the eye injury, risking career-ending damage, and still winning the fight and even getting a knockdown. He's the most complete and most exciting fighter in any weight class right now. We just saw Billy Joe Saunders quit his fight against Canelo after suffering a similar eye injury in the 7th. And no one should criticize him for not being able to continue. Inoue has the courage of a lion and the skills of Jedi master.

    I agree with Teddy Atlas that Donaire fought the fight of his life against Inoue but came up short. That fight sucked whatever he had left in the tank right out of him. He had a very easy route to the WBSS final - where his first opponent, Ryan Burnett, who was easily winning the fight, pulled ligaments in his hip and couldn't continue. Then Zolani Tete, who was heavily favored to beat Donaire, pulls out a few days before their semi-final match and Donaire instead fights a guy who was called in on 3 days notice. Like many over-the-hill great athletes, Donaire is in denial that his best days are behind him and there ain't no getting them back. At nearly 40 years old now he still believes he is a top fighter. Instead of retiring, he's now going to fight Oubaali for the WBO belt, hoping to win and get a rematch with Inoue. He can't beat Inoue, especially that Inoue now knows how best to fight him. I doubt he'll even get by Oubaali at this point. Inoue would have nothing to gain by beating up on Donaire again. People would simply accuse him (Inoue) of elderly abuse.

    Also a good example of a great Champion that's older and summons up a great performance. The Greatest Light heavyweight of all time Ezzard Charles vs Marciano I. Then in the second he did good but Marciano had his number in the second one then Charles nailed him with that uppercut that split Rockys nose almost in half that gave him a chance but Marciano who was given one more round before they were gonna stop it he went out there and destroyed Charles. That is greatness. Those guys as Teddy would say, they were explorers they were excavators. That is a man who is underappreciated. ESPN listed the top 5 Light Heavyweights of all time and they Had Moore, Greb, Maxim, Foster and Lesnesvich who are all great but Charles beat the number one guy 3 times with a stoppage and beat Maxim Twice if my mind serves me correct. Charles was so great he moved up to Heavyweight added about 5 to 7 pounds and beat everyone in front of him including Joe Louis who was coming back before Marciano fought Louis, he beat Walcott and they fought four times I believe with Charles winning the first two and Walcott winning the third and then Walcott winning the 4th by 15 round decision. If it wasn't for the Sam Baroudi fight prior to the first Walcott vs Charles fight i think Charles would have not been beaten by Walcott and he might have even beaten Marciano for his first title shot. That is how great Charles was. I'm just saying he might have not saying it would have happened, but Charles was devastated by what happened killing a man in the ring. He is my all time favorite fighter ever. The perfect fighter with a great speed good power, footwork, Jab, hook, straight right and great body shots and could move, was always on balance and was just someone who had that it factor. The Cinncinatti Cobra deserves a huge nice bronze Statue. That man was great fighter and also just as equal a great human being. I would like to have Teddy do a whole episode on The Great Ezzard Charles. I know he won't read this, but he was important. He deserves to be talked about. The history of boxing doesn't talk about him at all. I sure as heck do and he is revered in my household and heart forever. I never met him, and he passed away the same year I was born, but something about watching him do his craft hit a nerve with me and he is the term for being a champion. He is the definition of being a professional and true and great professional that is overlooked and its just not right. Rest in Peace champ. Please do a small episode about this great fighter who people who have never heard of him would learn about the greatest Light Heavyweight ever. I don't care what anyone says his record speaks for itself.

I think Ortiz is better prepared for this fight then the first fight and he has a good chance to win the sequel, by decision. Dificult for a KO, but its possible. at first i wasn't sure how i felt about this Ken dude. never even heard his name when i first seen this podcast, but the more ive watched the more i've got an understanding of who and how he is as a person. now i think he's great. you can just tell the guy is a good all around person in general and in a median where you're used to fakes, actors, tough guys, etc. it def makes you like the dude even more because you can just tell the dude is extremely genuine.

    Mr. Teddy I have to disagree with you about Ortiz rematch; experience makes fighters and no just in boxing also in life. Once you’ve been there and done that, you also know what to expect, how to handle new events, how to prepare yourself and the most important aspect to me: How to go further beyond your limits. Even though all of this could apply to both fighters I also have to agree with you on this, then age could play a main role. Again thank you so much for your comments. DS.

    We’re not talking about how good the fights were, i think we all know rematches can be great. My Point was not all rematches go the same way when the older fighter loses the first fight example Ali vs Spinks, lewis vs rahman so teddy’s theory regarding older fighters not been able win rematches against younger fighters is incorrect. thanks for your comment

    We already found out about Inoue, he’s the real deal. Just beat donair fighting 11rounds with a fractured orbital bone. Plus it’s kinda crazy you want him to go up a 5th weight class already. Theirs more than enough talent at 118 to keep busy. Nery, Tete, avenging his brothers lose to Oubaali plus they say Rigo is moving back down to 118.

    On the positive note, 2019 has been historically great. 2020 is going to be monumental. Wilder is in the utmost respect a Boxer, giving fights back to back, considering the Fury fight happens early next year. Mind you my heart is with Ortiz🇨🇺. On the negative, why put the Inoue fight at such awkward time. With him being such a talent, and entertaining to watch. Boxing I believe is on the rise again, but needs to nurtured this time around carefully. Stop trying to milk out the money, get people to watch it... you think people who watch football fanatically, would pay for 4 or 5 Super Bowl a year (payperview) mind you once a year... I don’t think so

    Wilder DID have to rematch Stiverne it was his mandatory. Wilder was forced to take Ortiz fight through Al Haymon who stopped Ortiz vs AJ. Expect a 12 round fight with less chance of early stoppage, Ortiz is to tough and skilled to go down in one rnd so that's not going to happen. Safe pick is wilder by 8 rounds stoppage . Ortiz by UD is highly possible ,id go with that and the odds. Of course the judges have to actually score it correct and we know Wilder fights are basically impossible to get UD wins ,so ?...………………………..
