    Great match with excellent, psychology, selling and story-telling. Definitely two of the best workers in the business, particularly in the 80's.

    This is back before Vince McMahon & HIS IDIOTS ruined Wrestling. This is back when Wrestling was still believable & worth watching...back when the wrestlers looked real...they looked like they just walked out of a bar & were ready to fight anyone. No big lightshow...no loud entrance music...no silly gimmicks...no corny costumes...just real Wrestling & real wrestlers that did their best to give us DEDICATED OLD SCHOOL NWA WRESTLING FANS our MONEY'S WORTH!!! If Wrestling were to get back to this...I'd probably start buying tickets AGAIN. Much love from Mobile Alabama

    Back when it was wrasslin. I used to love these bloody cage matches. When they weren't scured to wear the crimson mask.

    Teddy Dibiase was one hell of a worker. In the early 80s he was courted in being NWA world heavyweight champion. The politics were never on the side. Big shot promoters like Jim Crockett, Eddie Graham and Jim Barnett had their say for their wrestlers. Even Vince Sr and the “Godfather” San Muchnik backed Ric Flair.

    Just because Dr Death was to big of a wimp to show up for this match, doesnt mean Freebird Gordy had to fight Million Dollar Man. Terry Gordy didnt train to fight Million Dollar Man! He trained hard to fight Steve Williams. This wa# a god damn set up & if Freebird Gordy would have gotten a piledriver in it wouldda been lights out for the Million Dollar Man.

    Yes. It was mostly Dibiase providing the momentum, but he has paid the price for taking those bumps with the chronic neck issues that forced him out of the business as an active wrestler. The laws of physics don't change just because you are in a "worked" pro-wrestling match.

    It's matches like this that made me hate the WWF so much as a kid. I loved UWF Dibiase and hated WWF Dibiase. I get it now - he went for the money and not having to put as much wear and tear on his body, but still...

    Say what you will about how all this is fake, but one thing that wasn't fake, were when they were really laying it in with those strap smashes. OUCH!!!!!

    Why do the wrestlers look like they are taller than the cage?

  • @paulweston8408

    @paulweston8408

    Because a lot of times the "15 foot high" cage would only be Six and a Half feet tall. It was sad how much the fans intelligence was insulted. We were already meeting them WAY more than half way with the whole "it's all on the up and up". WHY lie about stuff like that?

    Not all cages some like the ones the old school WWF were taller even the steel bars version the NWA version is 8 to 10 feet above the apron some like Mid South cage started from the arena floor instead being hooked to the ring.

    Evidently DiBiase doesn't know how a legal binding wrestling contract works. In order for the title to be on the line, BOTH WRESTLERS must sign for the title match. And while its true that Steve Williams & Terry Gordy did in fact sign for one, no where in that equation do you see Ted DiBiase's name. In fact, after the DiBiase - Gordy match, even DiBiase himself admitted that the title rightfully belonged to Gordy. That said, so why is DiBiase holding the title? Isn't that called stealing? Great example for the kids, dumb ass. lol I know, I know, its all scripted & the winners are predetermined N all that, but still....... lol
