I absolutely LOVE how EVERY wrestler speaks of Haku as a near mythical figure! Rasslers don't universally agree on anything... but they damn sure agree on that!

DiBiase was smarter than most of the others, he learned to preserve his body, not take on crazy spots and didn't wait too long to stop wrestling.

I never knew if I was in the minority on this, but I never needed the super high risk bumps. Body slams, suplexes and good mic skills were enough to keep me tuned in.

Coward who ran away from a real fight. Read between the lines of all those stories you have heard. He always ran from a real fight then attacked someone who had no chance of fighting back. He did that to try and act tough after running away from a real fight. All bullies do that. He wasn't tough he was a coward, just listen to how many times he coward punched people. Nothing tough about that.

@@Me-qp8vz I'm not going to go as far to call him a coward I've never met him nor scene him fight in person. However most of the stories are him vs a regular guy. If I were to guess to bite someone's nose or attempt to dig out an eye means you are taking things to far against an opponent you already have control over which anyone can do or you are losing and do it out of desperation. Never heard of a fight he ran from though.

Haku never won King of the Ring. He was given that gimmick after Harley Race (who won it in 1986) got injured. It was a confusing idea at the time. Randy Savage won that tournament in 1987 over King Kong Bundy, but it was never acknowledged because it wasn't televised.

Haku/Meng should have had a better push. he had a great look, got a decent run (too short) as a monster in WCW, but he should have had more time at the top. Agile, strong, great look, martial arts, monster. Would have been better than some of the stupid gimmicks they pushed in WWF like Boogeyman, Papa Shango, and the Ultimate Warrior. He could actually work. No insult meant to Godfather, who could work, as well. Just a dumb gimmick.

Fun Fact: Even though they weren't the Faces of Fear back then, Haku and The Barbarian with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan as their manager opened Wrestlemania VII with a loss to The Rockers (showing just how much of a work wrestling really is that Michaels and Jannetty could beat those two lol).

Actually, Ted is incorrect on one point. Tonga Fifita is not the son of the Tongan King. He's not a Tongan Prince despite being known for years as King Tonga. He's just a regular Tongan who before being sent to study Sumo was a noted rugby union player who was being looked at as a possible future Tongan international player. In 1974 the then King of Tonga, Tāufaʻāhau Tupou IV, sent a group of 6 teenagers to Japan to study Sumo. Among the 6 were then 15 year old boys Tonga Fifita (Haku/Meng) and Sione Vailahi, otherwise known as The Barbarian. In Sumo, Haku was known as Fukunoshima while Barbarian's name was Sachinoshima.
