When Duggan comments that he doesn’t watch wrestling it makes me think back to when TNT used to show the old movies (before Turner created TCM) and they had a show called “Movies I Love” in which a celebrity would talk about a movie that was being shown that night. They had Dennis Franz talk about “The Valachi Papers” starring Charles Bronson. When they showed the promo for this episode, they had Franz say “For some reason, TNT thinks THIS is one of my favorite movies?” Turned out, Franz said he was more into musicals than mob movies.

Go until you can't go - the issue is knowing and accepting when you can't go. Jim Brown, Joe DiMaggio and Barry Sanders all retired when they still had some in the tank, but none of them regretted it. They weren't wrestlers, but they were still athletes and wanted to live into a healthy older age. Ted did the right thing.

Amazing how times change and athletes are better trained to take care of their health, more so wrestling as a culture changing overall for the performers. Piper and Flair then are same ages as Randy Orton and Aj Styles now, think about that.

The problem at WCW that older guys weren't working with younger guys for whatever reason booking creative control etc. Old guys vs old guys was horrid to watch Hogan vs Piper Hogan vs Savage etc. Young guys should have got to work with Hogan Flair etc in 96-98 not only to get the young guys over but to make the old guys look good by having the young guys bump for them. Hogan vs Booker T Flair vs Jericho etc. Having the young guys even trade wins and losses even if the old guys had to go over in the end would have helped build new stars for WCW.

If WCW was going to pay Piper 600,000+ a year plus getting him acting roles for a part time schedule you can't blame him for grabbing that. He only worked 30 matches for WCW. Flair went a lot longer than Piper. As far as the younger wrestlers that WCW had they didn't draw once Hogan, Savage and Piper left. That's a fact.

I would agree; Waltman was at that time the best worker of those six. The worst: Kevin "Trash" Nash. Kevin Greene had maybe a dozen matches total and HE was a better worker than Big Lazy.

Compelling viewing. An insurance company insures pro wrestlers, thinking it's a slam dunk that "fake" wrestlers would never get hurt, then in "FIFO" style, figure out too late that, yeah, shit hurts. This should be a 5 or 6 hour special. Maybe make it an ongoing series. 3 hours every show. State Farm can sponsor! Insurance is a ratings bonanza!!! There is not a single person on the planet who would not want to see television about insurance.

I was a HUGE Kevin Nash fan back in the day, although his politics kinda turned me off once he became more active on social media. I've actually met him though and he's a pretty decent guy who's been through a LOT. Having said all that, the idea of Piper double legging him and throwing him out of the room is completely asinine. It literally would never happen. Kevin is an absolute monster who also had a boxing background, and a temper like a son of a bitch. He NEVER would have backed down from Piper. In Piper's day I'm sure he was tough, and Nash isn't Haku or Barbarian, but in a real fight Nash would go through him like it was nobody's business.

The argument hes a better worker for the match, ok, so put any other good worker in it, it's nothing but wanting their friend in it, like the whole career of the kliq. Even the hof they did for wwe, why was waltman in it that one, Its hogan-hall-nash when think Nwo. They just wanted their buddy in it. Im a fan of Waltman but he didnt belong in an nwo hall of fame before Macho Man, Bischoff, and others who were more important to nwo then syxx if you're gonna throw others in with the main three.
