The Radio Geek shows off his Tecsun PL 310 and goes over some of the features of this little shortwave radio. Its a very nice little radio that would work out for someone who travels.

Nice review! I always forget about that scan feature - my PL-660 has it as well. Tecsuns are pretty good little radios for the price - lots of bang for the buck.

What a wonderful, well done review. I live in a signal poor area of eastern Tn. and can only receive 4 am and a very few fm stations. I am a sports junkie and can receive only one sports talk station(CBS). I have a Grundig, a Sony, a Radioshack, and a Panasonic, none of which do me any listening pleasure. :)I'm glad to have found your channel.

You should put up a good dipole external antenna. This radio has a external antenna input.

If it had SSB/BFO it would be a cool little portable! The temp gauge reminds me of the gimmicks that came out in the 80's/90's on the boomboxes...flashlights, alarm systems and then all the flashy LED lights! :) ~Jack, VEG

Vintage Electronics Geek the temp function is built in to the DSP chip. I guess it was no cost to have that function. BFO would be nice but this radio is under $50. Thanks for watching!

There's a guy on you tube got ham radio signal through on 7100 MHz SW due to overload and it filtered through so maybe no need for SSB if it's possible to get amateur radio broadcasting .

There's a guy on you tube that got a ham radio station through on 7100 kHz SW , due to an overload on the 455 khz amateur band filtering through the signal was clear . Have you tried this to see if it picks up ham at that frequently perhaps the guy got lucky as a one of.
