@Zaktact There's a really amazing Lancer focus soundtrack channel called Ivel Bartore. You should see if you can use his music for some of your vids and maybe give him a little shoutout. He even has subtle little short stories worked into the music. Like you can see com transmissions between pilots recovering from a fight that went badly. Or flashing text that's too quick to read of an NHP cascading. Its really cool! There's also Nathan North Carrhae and Nuclear Cavalier are my two favorite songs on that soundtrack. Its another Lancer specific sountrack channel. Really amazing that we have two of them.

Hagiographic houses are so funny to me, like their entire argument for being so mad is "They're putting chemicals into the water to turn the Baronies liberal." Which while not directly true, they do have a point. The Baronies are for sure slave labor to Union, while Union can provide all this free crap to it's core worlds. The baronies are literally cracking stars, harvesting planets, and capturing cosmic soup to provide for Union. Imagine what would happen if a Hagiographic house rose to power, and stopped ALL shipments to union. It would be a massive conflict.

And the funny thing is that to an extent, they are completely right. We know Union has been secretly and not so secretly supporting the Ungratefuls and the Republican houses.

​@@talscorner3696Yes. To my understanding, the KTB mostly supplies Core Worlds/Diasporan worlds and the construction of new colonies/Blinkgates. Union's Navy is downsized from under SecComm, and still has enough ships to outclass every other known power in the galaxy (aside from RA), potentially even combined. If Union brings all 13 of the ring fleets around Blinkgates to bear on the KTB, they would not last long. But to do so would kill the image ThirdComm wants to build, that they are different from SecComm and don't want to use force, even to their own detriment (a la Dawnline Shore).

@@talscorner3696 It would certainly hurt, but it just means Union would have to pause their megaprojects like the blinkgates. However, don’t forget they have a monopoly on the blinkgates and the Omni. The KTB stands to lose just as much if they suddenly have to return to lightspeed travel and communications. Not to mention the corpros will likely side with Union as well. Union will likely win a war against the KTB, bit certainly at a high cost.

This info’s making more invested in Lancer’s lore. My issue with Lancer originally is where was the conflict that necessitates giant robots if Union’s trying to unite everyone? Turns out the answer is Union isn’t the best at uniting everyone and some of those powers have their own juicy political strife going on.

"Great Uniters" often have body counts of those who didn't want I under their leadership. Also, there's reasons why we're on Union 3.0

The end note made me remember how the book itself calls it a coin toss for humanity, soon on its way down

My latest character is a knight from the house of Stone who's caught between believing that uinion is a threat to his peoples history and seeing that the house as brought the ungrateful down on itself and needs to change. Should be a fun game to see where he end up.

Oh I have a player playing a House of Order kavaliere (from a minor house with deep ties to Stone) which was kinda trauma'd as a kid when he was basically gifted a brainwashed bodyguard (another player's character), it's really cool seeing this guy be like "Union Bad because they will erase our history, but we should change the system to avoid it doing shit like this but also not in a Republican way cos that's too far" while encouraging his bodyguard breaking out of the brainwashing and rediscovering who she was, all with a stick *so* far up his ass it's surprising it doesn't poke out of his mouth

I intend to run a Lancer game centered around the brewing conflict in the Dawnline Shore, and I think it'd be great if you did a video on the relationship and history of the KTB and Harrison armory, like modern politics and even the first Interest War

This video series is invaluable and I am so grateful to you for making these ❤❤❤ That said, in the spirit of constructive feedback, you're likely already aware but you frequently repeat "to some extent" as a sort of filled pause. I may be especially sensitive to your usage of it because I have similar verbal patterns that I have tried to compensate for while teaching. It's not terrible by any means but it is noticeable. Again, though, I am absolutely loving this series and I look forward to each new video you make! Thanks for all your hard work!

Oh god, the Kerrikan are NUTS, and this just gets WEIRDER. Honestly, makes me want to pick up the books so far, and really look into the system.

So, basically the political factions of the KTB can be summed up as: Hagiographic: "Karrakins! Tradition!" Neo-Passacaglia: "For Passacaglia!" Federalist: "Everything is fine how it is, don't rock the boat!" Liberal: "More rights for commoners!" Republican: "Give me Democracy or give me death!" Also... anyone else find it hilarious that Neo-Passacaglia's goals depend on Blink Gates and the Omninet... the things Union owns, and who would likely pull the plug on it the instant the Neo-Passacaglian's took power.

As a centrist who hates their government. I really hate when people say centrist are pro staus quo... no we aren't... we just aren't extremist

As a note for the sake of context, the Imperial Truth and the Imperial Creed at the base of the Ecclesiarchy are incompatible xD The former is "Gods don't exist and religion is a shackle to progress, therefore it must be deatroyed" and the second is "The Emperor is the god of Mankind "

@@Zaktact that's the node of tension ^^ That the Truth of the Emperor is *exactly* the opposite of what the Ecclesiarchy says it is... Because the Bible the Ecclesiarchy runs on is actually the Book of Lorgar (one of the traitor Primarchs), who was the first to worship the Emperor as a god and got censored by him extra hard for that. But nobody in the 40k universe knows that other than Lorgar himself, the returned Primarchs, the Emperor (who's, uhm, a bit indisposed at the moment xD), the higher Word Bearer officers who were physically present during the Horus Heresy. In a sense, that people conflate the Imperial Truth with the Imperial Creed is Chaos's (and Lorgar's) last laugh xD

Hu, was expecting some mention of the Ungratefuls here, but I guess that's a different video.

I’m pretty sure the book calling citizens “citiyens” is actually a typo. There are many typos I have found in the various official books. 🤙🏻
