Roland did kept tears for fears alive during the 1990s when Curt left the band! He basically was by himself producing songs in the 90s up until the 2010s

Tears for Fears? Underrated? They were a MASSIVE hit back in their heyday...

Roland and Curt both have amazing voices. Their voices blend well together here. One voice doesn't overpower the other. The Hurting is another good example of their voices blending well together.

Agreed on all points; these guys are like the Simon & Garfunkel of the 80s, in my book, except that they are truly friends, which makes it even more cool.

When Roland said “Everybody Loves a Happy Ending” would be their last album as Tears for Fears, I was crushed. I’m so very happy that they decided to make another one together. Please, keep them coming! The world needs more Tears for Fears!

Elemental and Raoul were infinitely superior and that was without Curt ! I remember seeing them on the Seeds Of Love tour and they blew me away, awesome musicianship. Never thought these guys would collaborate again, surprise, surprise

Their songs are cathartic. If you sing along and really meaning the lyrics, you end up relieved. This healing power of their songs is unique. Possibly because their work is in great part grounded on Arthur Janov's Primal Scream therapy. Fantastic band. I'm a fan since 1983. "The Hurting" is a fenomenal album and this new album, although sounding modern, recaptures the spirit of their first album, in my humble opinion. Great to have this guys back. They are at 60 years of age and still doing these great songs. Old is gold.

Agreed! Just saw them live this year and it was a spiritual experience for sure. They are true artists with great passion and empathy. Not sure how anyone fails to see the amazing talent of this band. Instead they opt for copy cats, disposable and meaningless music that sounds like everyone else.

Great to see these 2 Legends again since the 80s. Basically anything they release will be good.

TFF have always been so successful at developing their sound from album to album. I can’t believe how much this sounds like them, while at the same time sounding so new.

The introduction is brilliant. The melody is just hypnotising and the whole production is outstanding. Thanks for being part of my life Curt and Roland ♥️

This song just feels right at this moment in time. Cannot get it out of my head!

The best part is that the music video hits the tone of their original music videos. It feels natural, original, authentic. Tears For Fears, Legends Reunited.

I'm so proud of Curt and Roland.They did it.Finally producing a magical incredible song ! And proving what makes Tears For Fears so great is the combination of both of them...

I'm a hard rock, blues, jazz, metal kind of guy; but I've always liked these guys. And this is just absolute perfection! Love it!!!!!!

Huge respect to Tears for Fears. The Hurting album is so stratospherically brilliant that words cannot describe. One of the greatest albums of all time. Songs from the Big Chair is another masterpiece. Both these albums were the soundtrack to my youth and I am part of a generation so blessed and grateful to have had those songs as a backdrop to growing up. Those albums, those songs are classics and will live forever. They defined an era and not many artists can claim to have done that. So glad they're still around making music. I'm a loyal fan for life.

Tears for Fears deserves to be in the rock roll Hall of Fame. They make the most beautiful lyrics and make you feel like everything’s OK.

Two of my fav bands are releasing albums this year .Tears for fears and duran duran.

Beautiful, stunning, haunting. The sound of their two voices together sends splendid chills down my spine. I am so ready for this album.

I''m 63 & I've been a huge TFF fan for 40 years. This new song is INCREDIBLE. Curt & Roland can do no wrong. So AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL. I LOVE IT!!

I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve watched this. The lyrics resonated with me from the first listen before I knew of Roland writing this about losing his wife. When this was first released, I had been the caregiver of my ex-husband for almost five years due to an incurable brain condition that was discovered right after divorce papers were signed. Hard five years. There was a point in mid fall 2021 I knew he had crossed into a valley there was no coming back from. His step towards his tipping point. When I heard this song, this is what it meant to me. Christmas Day, I sensed his time was short despite him looking good, in good spirits and loving Christmas. He died New Year’s Day after lapsing into unconsciousness an hour before he died. I held his hand and told him all I wanted to say, and it was okay, he could let go. Even unconscious I know he heard me and he let go of holding onto life and passed away right then. I could feel the change of atmosphere in the room. I got a nurse and she confirmed, yes, he had died. His tipping point had come. I hope to be able to buy a ticket to see Tears For Fears in concert in my area, San Diego. I know hearing Tipping Point live will be emotional. Thank you Roland and Curt for such a masterpiece of the human experience. ☮️

Same here, I lost my twin brother and best friend to pancreatic cancer in September, he was doing great in chemo for a year, then in April of 2023 is was quite literally, "the tipping point," the chemo stopped failing and his health rapidly declined. We went to see Tears for Fears in May, they were touring this album. I can honestly say I felt like it was God talking to us through this song "you know that I can't love you more" was exactly how I felt about my brother then and now. I will never forget that moment at that concert when they played this song.

Their voices has not changed much. It is so fab to see n hear them. Brings back good memories.

Roland can't hit the high notes any more, but his midrange is still good. (You can find recent live videos where he seems to lose all sense of pitch when he goes high.)

I waited on BBC Radio 2 a few minutes ago and listened to the exclusive premiere - I had goosebumps and tears. Worth the long wait - because most importantly it sounds like Tears for Fears and secondly, what a great song and fresh sound. One of my favourite bands and biggest influences of all time.

I mentioned it to convey the excitement of someone, who just couldn't wait. It's amazing how the way we look at a message says so much about ourselves, hey? The heart and attitude you look at the world with, will be the same heart and attitude you understand it with. Seems for you, the message is about competition and for me it was about the excitement of hearing one of my favourite artists' new single as soon as was possible. This song could be straight from 1989 but also sounds so fresh! I’m so in love with this new album! Best new music I’ve heard by anyone in many years!!!

The Charlotte, NC show was fabulous. I've seen them in concert twice before and they were always great, but they were really back on top of their game for this tour. Spectacular.

This song brings back such a specific memory from when my grandfather was passing in 2013. Laying down on the other bed in the room and watching him breathe, watching his chest rise and fall. And then it stopped for a few seconds before resuming. He was like that for about 5 days, before he finally let go. And this song is such a banger, it moves and grooves and has such a strong and persistent beat - it's really powerful and cathartic.

As a child of the 80s and a proud member of Generation X, I can't begin to express how much of an impact Tears For Fears had on my life since high school. I'm so happy to see them in these autumn years still making great music.

I'm a proud member of Gen X as well and I feel that this song is one of their deepest tracks lyrically. I put this up there with Pale Shelter, When Tears Fall Down and The Working Hour in terms of deep meaning. I have a 16yr old and 15yr daughter who love Tears for Fears and I'm surprising them with VIP Tickets for their upcoming tour date in Sugarland, TX.

It's funny that you mentioned The Working Hour, because a few months ago it was playing on the radio (wireless), and it was late, and I was listening to it all alone, and it hit me that I had heard that song HUNDREDS of times and not until that moment did I realize what an amazing, well written and well executed song it is. Absolutely genius, and regrettably forgotten behind the other hits of Songs From The Big Chair.

As a lifelong fan I'm so grateful for this. We all needed this.

Absolutely. Real musicians who play and sing their music without any of the vocal fakery, templatized receycled structure and autotune-crap of vast majority of music on Spotify top ten lists of new music. Along with Paul Weller, TFF keeps moving their music forward, and there's just no comparison between real musical artists and the crap on all the music award shows. Cheers for real music and real feeling musicians. I agree we all need this.

Roland and Curt are like family that has been out of pocket while dealing with true tragedy. Old friends, we are so excited to see you back and on top of your game!! Can't wait for the new album! The unity in song writing is so obvious and apparent!

"The Tipping Point" is beautiful and heartbreaking. I feel like I am being haunted by the loss of a lifetime love. This song feels like Cathy's ghostly haunting of Heathcliff, in "Wuthering Heights"...at the window 🪟, begging to be let in and brought out of the cold. An exquisite, very personal track. So sad for your loss Roland, your fans love you. 💘 Been a fan for decades, cannot wait to hear the entire album.

Indeed, this song definitely hits hard. I have a feeling it is indeed about losing a loved one. The chorus made me think of the video game Fatal Frame III: The Tormented, because that game revolves around the characters losing their loved ones and feeling survivor's guilt. I imagine Roland feels that just about every day too. I hope that he finds peace either way though, the man deserves it.

I think that the song is about climate change. The ghost is the climate and the tipping point is sell explanatory. I love ❤ it.

Well, I never thought it possible, but after listening to the entire Tipping Point album and after considerable analysis, discernment and reviewing 4 decades of material, musical genius from the undisputed pinnacle of worldwide music/musician/band superiority & greatness............I can and must honestly move Tears for Fears above Steely Dan to the #1 Absolute " TIP" Top #1 slot of THE very BEST OVERALL Bands/Musicians & Bodies of Work EVER (songs, albums, lyrics, studio, production)! TEARS FOR FEARS, Roland & Curt, are just writing/producing a more Loving, Healthier Vibe. And sadly, perhaps due to a darker one, have outlasted Fagen & Breker (rest in blessed sleep Donald). It was not easy, and thought it would never occur; but after decades of polished, discerned review of spectacularly crisp music and the many rich memories, listening enjoyment........Tears for Fears is my all time favorite band, and in my curated, professional opinion the Greatest Band & Music Ever Created, Recorded, Produced!

Agreed. Honestly I never differentiated between the first 3 albums and the following 2 without curt. Elemental was every bit as exquisite with songs "Elemental", "Cold", "Break It Down Again", "Goodnight Song"... I've played Cold on repeat so many times to hear that signature Roland ending "Stone cold, Stone cold, Stone cold". .... "Raoul and the Kings of Spain" was such a great exploration & tribute of his blood line. "Falling Down" could easily be mistaken as coming off a Roland/Curt album, it was so pure TFF. Beautiful "Sketches of Pain" and my fav: the haunting beauty of "Los Reyes Catolicos" (Reprise).

I'm just 20 but I love listening to Tears for Fear. Their songs never make me board and my favorite 2 are "Everybody wants to rule the word" and "Break the man". Long live all the decent art and the artists.

80's were the bestest years of music. Tears for Fears helped make it that way. I'd never heard this song. One of their best!

Sound every bit as good as they did in the 80’s and 90’s. So much netter than modern music. Love these guys!

Did you miss the last record "everybody loves a happy ending"? Its a brilliant beautiful record if you missed it. One of the best for sure. Up there with Raul or Elemental art least.

I wasn't born when you guys debuted, I had to experience the 80s through your classics and through people who had 'The Hurting' & Big Chair as the soundtracks to the prime of their lives. because you guys somehow tapped into that same spirit of innovation over 30 years later, I feel like I can enjoy the prime of my life with some of your best work like those who grew up with you. That never happens, its a rare gift and a blessing. Your music has enriched my life more then you know & The new Album is absolutely brilliant. Thank you.

My heart is elated. Utterly elated. This is impeccable. So distinctly TfF, but still fresh and new. Powerful as ever with their lyrical and poetic dissection of the 'human condition'.

This track blew me away. Heart wrenching lyrics knowing what Roland and his late wife went through. Absolutely brilliant track. Bless you guys.

Roland said in Rolling Stone interview in October 2021 that the song was about seeing his wife nearing death. My comment was not about prying but about the sensitivity of the lyrics. Politeness cost nothing.

37 years old my father has always said that tears for fears is his favorite band, heard this song and I cannot stop listening to it, it’s a perfect song, thank you tears for fears for keeping the music alive

These guys don’t need to be anything else of what they are already! They don’t try hard , they are at their best ever! New sound still classic high quality Tears for Fear organic music !!!!

My God....tremendous...such a great song. Very happy they returned. Amazing.

I'm in my mid-40s and I grew up listening to Tears for Fears, so it just puts a big smile on my face when Curt and Roland release new music.

They come back 17 years later and sound as fantastic as ever.
