It gives you goosebumps because it is referring to the garden of Eden when Satan said to Eve if you eat of this fruit it will open your eyes and you shall become like gods. It’s so hard to get across to people how much secular music can be so enjoyable but the force behind it Comes from a very dark place I always suggest reading the lyrics. It's a great song. I will always associate it with Hurricane Hugo in SC in 1989. It was popular at that time and I lived thru, and survived, that nightmare.

That's called a "counter melody" in musical terms, it's when you put an alternate melody over the same chords of a verse or a chorus. For that reason, Roland begins to sing over Curt's melody in that part and it works perfectly.

They are so awesome, and their songs were featured in Bumblebee and Gears Of War.

This song was SUCH cutting edge at the time, partly due to the video which was amazing computer graphics at that time. I love the part where it goes “ Time to eat all your words, swallow your pride...” and then OVER THAT kicks back in with - “High time we made a stand & shook up the views of....” TOTAL BRILLIANCE

1989, I just turned 25, after 2 years my relationship came to an unhappy ending, I was heartbroken and travelled to PARIS for a month to get my head clear again and on the train I listened to this great album, I felt better when I arrived in Paris and had a BLAST THERE. Best time of my life 😆
