Lyrics
Please be happy
Cos you know I cannot bear to see you
In this state of melancholy
Curled up in your chair
Please don’t worry
Cos the world won’t break apart as easy
As the glass
You dropped and smashed
When you tried to climb the stairs
There was a time
Not long ago
You stood right by your window
And your arms were painted feather-like
So sure that you could fly
But these days it’s like a wave is breaking over you
Dragging you in with the undertow
If you lay among the graves you will see other ghosts
I still believe this love can grow
But these days it’s like a wave is breaking over you
Dragging you in with the undertow
If you lay among the graves you will see other ghosts
Please be happy
Cos you know I cannot bear to see you
In this state of melancholy
Curled up in your chair

Chilling, given that Caroline (for whom this song was written) died in much the same way. I'm so very sorry.
So very different from their first album. Glad they're happier now, and that they still work and sing together so well.
Just beautifullllll… hope that they inducted in to the rock and roll hall of fame , they deserve it.

This is an absolutely beautiful song. Literally brought tears to my eyes. "But these days, it's like a wave is breaking over you, dragging you in with the undertow". Yeah. Hard to get out from under that wave.

Me too it needs to happen, us REAL fans don't need it for validation but it would be nice to see these 2 legends get recognized for there astonishing body of work, so many great songs it's ridiculous!!!!
My father passed away tonight after 11 days of struggling for his life. Leaving the hospital this song played immediately on my pandora. I’d never heard it before and it felt like he was speaking to me from heaven.

I am not gonna say anything good today. I am angry about the music scene of today so bear with me please. 😛🤪😂 Compared to todays artists, like Billie Eilish, Kanye West, The Weekend, and the likes, i tell you, the music of today simply SUCKS so HARD! I don't care if they are Zillionaires and gets paid for producing and performing their crap. I got the money as well and it didn't come from crap because i don't do crap. It came from my legit businesses. I made sure i mentioned legitimacy because people might think i am a drug kingpin. No. I don't do that shit! About todays music, so i tried listening to them. Everyday. I just couldn't identify myself with their so called music shit. Full of crap. TFF is real music. The musicians of yesterday are the real musicians. Now everything is fake. Electronic music. Auto tuned. No extra ordinary talent. Nobody plays instruments with the virtouosity of the earlier musicians. Now every artist sound so LAZY!!! Just try listening to them. Yes. Go ahead and try. I HATE THEM ALL! WE WERE SO LUCKY WE WERE BORN EARLIER. I SPOKE TO THE NEW GENERATION. WHO ARE THEY? THE YOUNGER GENERATION. THEY LOVE CRAPPY MUSIC. THEY DON'T PLAY GUITAR OR PIANO. ALL THEY DO IS PLAY WITH THEIR GAMING CONSOLES. NO TALENT AT ALL. UNLUCKY KIDS. I PLAY GUITAR AND PLAYED GUITAR IN COVER BANDS. THAT'S MY HOBBY AND I AM GOOD AT IT. SO I HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY THAT THE NEW GENERATION SUCKS. And rhey will suck even more. This is about the current state of music okay? They may be rich people and succesful in life. Yeah. But they all suck in music. The new generation sucks in the music field.

I would say it's Tears For Fears going back to the old days of great music. All the tracks on the new album are great, melodious. I never get tired of hearing it again and again...
So... You guys decide to make more art? The lyrics, their voices, and the melodies... absolutely perfect. We needed this.
You still got got. For over 30 years you've rocked my life. Thanks, guys!

A Soon-To-Be Classic
They are such a Gem in the scheme of music. I've grown up with their music and strangely the songs have a deep connection and timing to some of the most important moments in my life. I saw them in concert back in 2007-8 in SF and it solidified this perception. Like an old friend. And here they are again making such great music. Love you guys.

@CM-du5qh

@@williamschreitmueller9873 They are definitely a different cut from other English pop bands. There is an obvious display of truth in their lyrics and effort to not just put anything out there to make money. Shows how good music can be when it's not packaged up or managed by corrupt record companies.

@@CM-du5qh Couldn’t have said it better. While I liked their 80’s hits, I had always lumped them into the fairly vanilla British techno-pop wave - when in fact, they are true artists with enduring talent. Damn shame they broke apart for so long - so much music missed. But, Tipping Point is excellent and will see them this Summer here in my home state of New Jersey.

This song is moving and beautiful
While the story of this song is all about Caroline, it reminds me so much of my mom who has been paralyzed and in a wheelchair for most of my life and how her life as been a Rollercoaster of emotions. I could never say thank you enough for writing how I've always felt
Linda letra Roland. Na voz do Curt também ficou linda 💚💛🇧🇷💛💚
This probably my favorite song! Please be happy and don’t worry I still believe this love can grow, I still believe in Tears for Fears♥️
Feels like entering another dimension. The TFF uniquely , magical dimension.
Music doesn't get much better than this.
Knowing the painful story behind this beautiful Beatles-tinged number makes it deeply affecting. Might be my favorite track of this very fine album.

Agreed. I myself was just getting ready to comment that this sounds like 70's music, and also sounds like there's an infusion of the Beatles.
If you lay among the graves you will see other ghosts. TFF has my heart. Always.

This is gorgeous!! So looking forward to listening to the other new tracks. I loved Tears for Fears back in the 80s and went to see them a lot! I've been revisiting their old albums and the lyrics are so much more meaningful to me now that I'm older. This song is really, really comforting. Thank you, Tears for Fears!
Bought the CD and this is an absolute YES! Enjoying every single second of it.
Greatest band in my lifetime. They have a way of transporting me somewhere.
40 years on and they’re still killing it. Ha, they never get old!
Amazing song. One of their best. I am happy that they are still so creative. Yes, it's true that the inspiration for this song was difficult and sad life circumstances, but in the end it's an experience for us, through which we can feel what led them to write this song. I hope that they feel how much they mean for us. Tears For Tears mean my youth. My nicest years, nicest memories.
Love it. Had it on replay in the car today. I’m sorry for the life situations that birthed these songs, but so happy you’ve come out on the other side. You’ve gifted us a beautiful and touching album. See you in May! ❤️

This beautiful yet daunting song made me cry. It feels almost intrusive listening to it.
Complimenti.
