Best overview of a powerbank I've ever seen. Thank you!
Waiting for this one. Thanks mate. Most wanted review ever 😍❤
I really enjoyed this video! Super thorough and you went into it all! Keep 'em coming
I bought the 100 W Zendure. Even it is more expensive, it uses better battery cells and offer a repair service. With the Anker, the day it fails you find yourself with an expensive doorstop. Thank you for the great teardown and component analysis...

I've been waiting for you to review that new PD powerbank from Anker. Good review! I'm considering buying this. Hopefully you'll also review the new basues GaN 140w charger.
Wonderful video fantastic review :))))) big fan of your videos now ;))))
That's some serious kit!
Awesome teardown review! How would you rate the difficulty in replacing the batteries if they dont hold the same charge compared to new ones anymore?
Love to see powerbank series that can after being teardown can easyly attach it back
I totally appreciate this teardown, and I've charged my 16 inch m1max to 80% in 40 minutes (sleeping, not with active use) with this battery, but knowing that this costs €150 for a battery because I bought it 1 month ago, makes me cry a little that you had to rip apart such an expensive piece of equipment :D hahah

Thanks!
Thanks for the video, I would like to ask if you know if it is possible to charge a mobile phone and charge the powerbank at the same time?
It's a nice device, although it's important to remember those cells do not live forever and needs replacing at some point. My 18650 cells always die at about 6 years of usage.

What does the hidden switch do inside. Also is that a way of clipping it open without tearing it apart like you did ?
Interestingly, it does not use a switching power with a high-frequency transformer but a bulk-boost chopper, is that normal on PowerBank? I think that bulk-boost has less efficiency.
I'd love to see additional testing of cells itself to see how consistent they are in specification, with 18650 I had lots of bad luck with chinese batteries, especially when introduced to temperature fluctuations, mostly outside use in winter it just dropped far below 3V

These Lishen cells are pretty good quality, on par with Samsung 40T but expect a lot of 100/140W PD charging to really the life cycle count. Wow!
Looks huge, next time add a 0.5 liter Coca Cola bottle for scale. It would have been more useful for this thing to come with a 200W USB C charger. Anyway, I guess you can "charge it" at 140W while having another device draw 140W from it.
I have this PB, unfortunately the screen is faulty, looking to replace it. Does anyone know the part number?
just wondering, is there any batter management as far as balancing leads to help maintain the batteries health?
@ericklein5097
Жыл бұрын
Yes, the lower board does all that. The cells must have balancing or they will eventually drift apart and give you less and less capacity as the charger stops working when the lowest cell hits a predetermined low voltage cutoff.
A beautiful charger. But sacrificed for SCIENCE!
Very geeky in the good way but will be better if you can translate those engineering info into comments about how safe this power bank is.

Hi there, I have a favor to ask you for. I watched your video and opened up my defected anker 737 today, I didnt have a grinder so i had to pry it open with a spudger. I succesfully opened it up but in a process i broke its display lcd. I was wondering if you still have that display with you somewhere sitting and if its not in use can i buy it from you ? I'd really appreciate it and it might help me revive my powerbank, since I kind of figured out what's wrong with it, it's b2, b4 and b6 batteries are under voltage, rest of the 3 cells are around 4volts but these 3 are between 3.01-3.17. they discharge to less than 2.5 very quickly and the powerbank shuts down automatically. I was initially thinking it might be the firmware issue but um its not, Maybe just a BMS and these 3 cells are the main issue here which i'll try my best to fix on my own but i broke my display. Please let me know if you read my comment, if i could buy your tore down 737 display. i have very low hopes but um yeah. have a good day sir. :)

Hi, I appreciate your message and the effort you've put into trying to fix your Anker 737 power bank. I'm glad to hear that you found my video helpful in your troubleshooting process. However, I must apologize because the display from the Anker 737 that I tore down in my video is no longer available. It was a part of a teardown done quite some time ago, and I don't have any spare components from that teardown. Best of luck with your power bank repair, and have a great day!
After my son accidentally dropped my 737, the screen broke. Anker informed me that they do not offer any repair options. Now, I'm weighing the cost of repairing it myself versus buying a new one to see which is the better option.

@deang5622
Жыл бұрын
@@run00n0 Nonsense. There is no communication for that purpose. Clearly the basics of electricity are not understood. I shall explain. When a power source specifies a watt figure, this is the maximum power that can be drawn from the power supply. It does NOT mean that the power source will always deliver 140 watts regardless of what you connect to it. For voltage sources, which this is (as opposed to a current source), a set voltage is output. Now, the load, the thing the power source is connected to, will draw current and how much current is drawn is entirely up to the load (within limits which are set by the power source). So the the power drawn is a combination of the voltage and current (P=V.I), therefore as the load or different loads draw different amounts of current, the power drawn from the source also changes. So if you connect a 140W charger to a 40W IPad, then as long as the power supply has the correct voltage for the IPad, then there is no problem, the IPad will draw the amount of current it needs, and the power source -the battery - can deliver it (because the requirement of 40W is less than the maximum power of 140W the power source can deliver). No need for any communication between battery and IPad. Now, USB-C supports multiple voltages, unlike earlier versions of USB which are all fixed at 5 volts, so there is a danger that too high a voltage could be delivered to the load, to the device being charged, and that is then where communication comes in, to ensure that the correct charging voltage is used.
