I'm really liking this series so far! It makes me appreciate the older GE and Maytags back in the day when they made them like they used to similar to Speed Queen. Coincidentally, there was a time when Speed Queen made washers for both GE and Maytag which I thought was really cool!

The Whirlpool Direct Drive washing machines were similar to Speed Queen too.

At least the TC5 or the SQ classic top loaders sounded old school like the direct drives.

@@elevatorproductionsbymaxpassayep. I miss our Whirlpool direct drive. We had to leave the set behind on our last move. Been regretting it ever since. The house we moved into had a 20+ year old GE set that we just replaced with LG front load style after much research. Budget constraints kept us away from Speed Queen, this time. Next set will be Speed Queen.
I love this series!
Please do a teardown video on the Speed Queen TC5/AWN432 vs. Whirlpool Direct Drive (Pre-2010 model).

Thanks for letting us know what you'd like to see! We're hoping to keep this content going!! 😄
I have a Dependable Wash Maytag from about 1997,its built almost exactly like the Speed,Queen.
My 2017 Speed queen running like the day I got it.
Okay but how did you get the agitator out of the speed queen???
I have the TR7 washer..can the stainless tub get scratched from things like tabs/zippers on jeans, etc? Thx! (Best washer I’ve ever owned!)

I don't think so.

Hi! While this would be highly unlikely and isn't something we've heard of happening, there is always a chance of a sharp metal object causing a scratch.

I have the same exact washing machine.
What is the very best washer machine ????? well they have not made it yet....
Good stuff. One of these days what I'd love to see is a shootout on the Speed Queen FF7 vs. TC3/5 and a few other brands. So often the focus is on the topload when, IMO, the front load is the real star people overlook. Especially if you don't want to go with a deep fill choice.😊

@@SpeedQueenHome FYI, if Speed Queen ever wants to collaborate/sponsor such a series on my channel, I'd be happy to oblige to get more Speed Queen content in front of my ~208,000 subscribers. I don't get to do much because we fix a lot of used, broken machines so we never see your products!
I know the front panel on a speedqueen comes off easily, but what is done on the bottom of it to release the bottom?

The cabinet panels come off by removing the screws that hold them together. This includes the bottom panel!
The guy said that it’s quiet 🤣 mine rattles everything in my house it vibrates and dances across the floor so much… Thought I was spending hard earned $ on a washer worth having… its no better than a cheap washer so far…
i think this unit there is no lid switch to deal with. but most washers now days have a lock for a door or lid, because kids getting hurt putting there hands in the machine, so why would SQ remove a safety switch???

Hi! While our TC5 is the only washer we make without a lid lock, the machine will come to a complete stop when the lid is opened as a safety measure.
( GE appliancess )....PTW605BRS...😎😎😎
That GE is junk unit the lid lock will be the first thing to go out.then the control console the little plastic clips will break off holding the switch's there's $190 repair then the main computer will go, then the drain pump, and that maytag is really junk too those 4 rod shocks will go out first next basket hub is a weak point when it go's out the transmission shaft splines that go into that weak hub is always rusted out to the point it will not grab that hub and it will tear it up in about one week, i have replaced hundreds of those hubs i got them in stock in my truck.. but the SQ is good tub and spin basket, easy to repair, yes the rubber tub seal go's out and it could be because of sand or just normal use of it, but that water and soap will wash out the grease in the bearings and make noise so i will be there to changed it out... Haha...
