When you desperately search for content on Italian football and tactical explanations and find it on an English channel. Here, Italian creators who believe themselves to be football tactics gurus build their careers on the narrative that Allegri is incompetent and doesn't develop tactics. This over time has literally split the fans in half polluting the debate. In my opinion he is responsible but also a victim of his own communication made of jokes and simplifications, and of a character that is not easy, but on a professional level he is a good manager. Thank you really.

Those last years Juve were horrendous to watch. Finally Allegri's tactics seem to tick. What looked like every fan's nightmare (really defensive style of play) might be what allowed the group to gain confidence again. Allegri used Mckennie really well lately, I feel like Cambiaso and him changed the team a lot from last year. Yildiz might be the player we missed for those fast transitions, Vlahovic seems reborn since he is on the pitch.

Yildiz is technically similar to Dybala, and Vlahovic played beautifully with him and Morata on his first season. He has a strong bond outside the pitch with Chiesa so they’re able to play together somewhat proficiently, but Chiesa likes to go wide and doesn’t support him in the middle of the field as much, so he struggles, whereas Yildiz technique simplifies Vlahovic’s job. I think they’re a great pair, which again makes me mad at the old management for letting Dybala go (especially since we ended up playing 352 and not 433), cause Dybala-Vlahovic was a match made in heaven and we’ve been robbed of it :/

what changed is also the quality from the players we are seeing now. Players are improving, and we have a strong full XI. Might sound simple, but better players = better results, and theres nothing to do about that. Allegri had an impossible job making our team play good these last few years, also with all the problems at the club. Currently he has had signings and time to improve the squad, and we are back to playing well, its natural

difensive style of play can’t be the nightmare of a Juve fan. Juventus has always been something that someone can understand and someone..no. Allegri is a great coach and knows what to do.

Mr. Allegri is not a defensive manager, if he has quality players he puts them all on the pitch (Higuain, Mandzukic, Dybala, Douglas Costa, Cuadrado etc..). He wants talent and defensive organization, Juventus has become fragile for years and for this reason he has reorganized the wall to the detriment of the spectacle. Finally now he is collecting the results.

More like what? In 5 years they won 5 serie A, 2 champions final and several national Cup...if u are complaining about champions league they lost against barca 2015 and real 2017 (after eliminating them respectively in the semi-finals) that's not a shame...

Allegris block has got higher recently, this paired with some slick and quick passing has actually been not bad to watch, far from the juve of the past 2 years. I hope this continues

They started the season pressing higher up and creating a lot of chances, but the instability in defense shown in the Sassuolo loss made Allegri switch back to low block and parking the bus after scoring the first goal. Now that the defense is so solid and the top4 spot is almost secured, they started the new year going back to high press, resulting in lots of possession gains in the last third of the pitch. They don't park the bus anymore and try to score again even after going up 1-0

Allegri is also a great reader of the game (as many top coaches are). It may take him the first 45 if he's misread or the opposition has approached the match differently, but the man tinkers when and where he can, sometimes the simplicity of his adjustments result in game changing effects.

allegri is often got misunderstood by many fans and pundit, they think he's defensive minded manager but for me he is one of many great managers who can be flexible with his squad, so like we saw from his first tenure at juve, he's playing attacking football because he have many great players start from buffon to higuain, he didn't need to play very defensively when he have BBC+Buffon in Defence, because the trio alone can neutralize many attackers, while right now from current squad i think it's better to play like he doing right now, and the think i praise him the most he never complained about squads and just thinking about how to play better with his current squad

Allegri is so underrated. You can love him or hate him, but the truth is that he rebuilt this team from nothing and now he’s starting 2024 playing games in a more productive way, scoring 18 goal in 5 matches and the results are there! He’s keeping up with Inter’s unbelievable pace and basically already granted us a UCL spot for next year, I think nobody would have expected this at the start of the season

​@@MrBlueFootball Be careful though, Allegri was good in his first cycle in modifying and moving from Conte's fixed 3-5-2 to various formations from 4-3-1-2 (with one of the best midfields, Pogba Marchisio Pirlo Vidal + Tucu Pereyra ), returning to Cardiff's 3-5-2 and 4-2-3-1. But he has always had VERY STRONG teams, too underrated. But in the second cycle he had some good teams with which you can say he flopped. From the beginning of 2024 he seems to have more game and scores a lot also thanks to Yildiz (a pure second striker compared to Chiesa who is a player who has to play wide) who gives fluidity of play and also thanks to low level opponents. As a Juventus fan I'm not under any illusions, also because in two weeks you'll be playing against the favorites to win the championship... Honestly, I'm afraid they'll give us a good football lesson.

But Locatelli himself, as well as Rabiot and McKennie are too UNDERESTIMATED, Locatelli almost always produces excellent performances. That is actually smart from Allegri. Juventus do not have a creative midfielder to break defensive lines so just avoid focusing on passing and run with the ball.

I remember people wanted him to be sacked last season and even before that do to bad performance. All it takes is patience and time because Allegri is a quality coach with proper tactics. He led juventus to the ucl final two times and when they did that they were amazing in their own way. Hope they achieve what they want to achieve. Words from a barca fan

I think the team just started the year with a more offensive approach, they gained more confidence and decided it was time to start scoring more goals and not just winning the match. The fundamentals of the game remain untouched, there is just more will to score (you also gotta consider that Yldiz added more quality to Juventus' attack, allowing to bring more men into the opppising area)

Allegri first aim was to stop conceding Wierd goals like last 3 season , juve was doing very well end of last season , he completely transformed defence last season end and started working on mid at the start of this season so they can support attackers now , to those who don't know Vlahovic goal conversion was close to Lewandowski and halland , he wasn't getting good chances last season and also he had fitness issue , now he seems to get enough time on ball because of midfielders involvement in attack which has helped him to score

The right tribute must be given to Matteo Tognozzi. a man who few know, with absurd scouting skills, all the young people you see aggregated to the first team, owned by Juve, even those on loan like Soulè. I am credited to him, he is now the sporting director of Granada, I wish him the best but it is a big loss for Juventus.

Given the technical quality of our squad at the beginning of the season, I would realistically dream of 4th place and return to ucl. However Allegri has managed to develop the squad so well and take the most of it, even if we suffered a lot to win quite a few matches, we are being able to keep up with an incredible inter squad and I now really believe we will win the league. Furthermore, he has managed to make players like mckennie and miretti improve a lot their game and also built a strong winning mentality in the team, which I think may just be what will make us overtake inter at the end

If you try to deploy the tactics of Guardiola or de Zerbi with this squad you end up the way Sarri and Pirlo did: you hit a brick wall. They are not bad players but nowhere good enough to play fast attacking moves in the final third. Hence Allegri is doing the right thing by focusing on defence first, and since Yildiz gained a starting XI spot the attack has looked a lot better too. It's quite the irony considering the common criticisms of Allegri are: 1.he's too defence-minded 2.he doesn't trust youth 3.he doesn't like to deviate from his usual systems, yet he's switched to 3-5-2 in spite of playing with a four-man defence for over a decade and changed the way he uses the wing backs. Meanwhile other coaches like Sarri are struggling to implement their ideas fully.

Number 2 still remains true, honestly. He always treats youngsters as a last resort. He uses more youngsters this season simply because he didn't get the OK to buy players he wants and he didn't really have any other choices. Bet he'll stop utilizing the youngsters once he got the OK to buy players. Just like he always did on his previous seasons over and over again.

Gotta say when Allegri left last time it was probably a season overdue. The team looked completely unmotivated and only got somewhat decent results on inertia. Same was true for this spell up until now. I absolutely love effective counterattacking football because it doesn't allow the opponent to just disrespectfully occupy your half of the field, its such a huge boost do defense. But without the counterattacking Allegris football has been almost completely ineffective, the team must learn how to exert pressure when in posession too. Lets be honest, the saving grace to this shortcoming have been the set pieces - which is also great in itself, but not exactly a reliable source of goals; that and individual flashes of brilliance.

1/ Very nice video! Perfectly explained for dummies who critics Allegri with no arguements. This is Allegri's style! I only defend him because some people say that he has no style and he's the worst manager which is absolutely stupid otherwise he would have won NOTHING in his career. After, people can likes or dislikes his style and here I understand them! We can debate about it. There is a huge difference between the people who says that he has no style and the ones who knows that he has a style but do not like it. 2/ Now I will explain his style! Allegri's style is not about esthetics but about efficiency! What is it more efficient in the defense part of the game to defend with a bloc in the lower middle zone? There is not! What is it more efficient in the attack part of the game to attack on transitions by the wings with physical players running at full speed to push the ball forward in the spaces created. The only problem Juventus had was the finition. You need players full of confidence to do so. 3/ Yes Allegri's tactics is very simple and it can be counter if the other team play very nice with the possession. Juventus needs to play against this kind of team more to know how to adapt their system a bit against them. However, this tactics has created confidence for the players as their role is not very difficult. The defense is very secure about it. The midfield has well adapted (Rabiot) and the attack seems to work better now with Vlahovic more confident finally. Allegri has created a solid base as this tactics formation is fully mastered by everyone in the team. We don't know if Allegri can build on from that and make happen some adapted formation around it better suited for bigger teams in the future. I would like to see the 3-4-1-2 with Yildiz as the number 10 role behind Chiesa and Vlahovic. This formation removes the pivot role of Locatelli in front of the defense and put a higher midfield = 3rd attacker on the field. This is a formation more adapted for the attack which is needed when Juventus has lost the lead and need to score ASAP. Because as for now, Allegri's tactics is well adapted when no team leads (0-0 ; 1-1 : 2-2) or when Juve leads the score but not when Juve doesn't lead and run after the score.

Nice my friend, but I would love to see Fagioli in that 3412 behind the strikers ( the second sticker is ( Kenan/Cheasa ) he never tested in that position last year, with him there you can be more secure in the defence and he can go down when the others go up ( Loka+Rabiot)" not a really trequarista and not a fixed regista " + with move him to the right side you can always come back to the usual 352 or 532" the original formation" without making a sub . I really believed and still believing in him, I hope that the difficult situation that he but himself in will make something. Kenan can play as a number 10 instead of Fagioli or as a second sticker if Fagioli is there.

@@yassinsinssi1865 Personally, I don't really praise Fagioli. He plays a bit like Mckennie (in terms of style). He's not an attacker. He's clearly a midfield. I don't see Fagioli having the role of number 10. This is too technical and too much responsibility. Kenan Yildiz can dribble and he is very creative. I don't see any players doing that except Pogba. Also Miretti even if people disagree plays higher on the pitch. He seems to be naturally oriented offensive midfield than central midfield whereas Fagioli is more a central midfield.

For a 23 years old, what he does, it's not exceptional at all. You need to understand that Fagioli is not really a youngster. Barella at 23 years old was way better than Fagioli. I am a Juve fan and I talk reality. Tonali is 23 and he's also better! So calm down with Fagioli, I am sure that not everybody is crazy about him.

@@skreapy21 I don't think the age really matters,he is having a different journey in comparison to Barella and Tonali. They were playing for Cagliari and Brescia so clearly they found much more space and played more than Fagioli who at their age was playing in the Juventus youth team because there were already Pjanic,Khedira,Matuidi,Marchisio etcetera. First year in professional football he was Serie B mvp and the next year (so last season) he was great in a team that had a horrific season. Age doesn't really matter if you see the context, Fagioli is a great player, different from Yildiz,who is more technical and offensive, but for example you could play 4231 with them, putting Chiesa and Yildiz on the wings and Fagioli behind Vlahovic. Of course this is all theoretical because there are much more elements than need to be considered

Never forget that Conte left this team claiming that they were never going to be good enough and Allegri then took them to two CL finals, knocking out RM and Barca (with the famous MSN attack in their prime). You can't do that if you don't know what you are doing tactically. Yeah, both those teams then got revenge on us but that's football.

As a Juve fan, I would say unfortunately I'm from the minority who were always Allegri fans... I'm glad he's getting the recognitions. I always said, that the declining performance of Alex-Sandro and Cuadrado were the reasons Juve was looking more and more defensive, as these players were no longer able to cover grounds as Lechtstiner once did and therefore have to sit back. Now that we have Kostic, -Cuadrado,- Weah, Mekennie, and Illing jr you can clearly see the team imposing themselves... The question remains, with three competitions next season, is this style sustainable?

He's extremely astute and he has malice. But overall is overrated. That's why he didn't went to coach other teams, but take time out from football and went back at Juventus. He knows his potentials and didn't want to risk his face somewhere. He plays it simple because he knows he doesn't have the capabilities. On top of that. he always had and have great football player with huge class and potential. Juventus buys him most expensive and strongest defensive players and forwards. Im juve fan since 2000s i have respect for him as coach but he lost two champions leagues finals the final against Real Madrid was disaster he lost pretty much all games against big teams since his comeback especially the lost 5-1 against Napoli even his latest wins came with embarrassing performances .

Honestly, this year has been different. We started pressing higher (maybe cause we don’t play UCL so it’s easier to recover?) and you can see there’s INTENT behind the so-called “defensive” approach, we’re letting teams have the ball cause we’re quick on a counter and we’re defensively solid. The match in which we struggled the most was against Bologna cause they understood that and let US have the ball, and back then we had no clue what to do with it. Now we’re slowly getting better at that too, and at controlling the pace of the game (not even close to what we used to be like 7 years ago, but it’s a start).

Nice analysis, basically he plays with a 5-4-1, uses a 400mln $ worth team against opponents who spent much less for players, and now is winning in serie A because he has no European competitions. Last two seasons his tactics were a disaster.

la difesa a 5 si vede solo in fase di non possesso quando il pallone viaggia nella propria metà campo, altrimenti la difesa rimane alta e si attua il gegenpressing. In fase di possesso invece si vede spesso il 433 (Cambiaso stringe a centrocampo per la sovrapposizione di Gatti mentre McKennie sale diventando di fatto un ala). Il fatto di giocare senza Europa è un malus, non c'è budget per rinforzare la squadra e la panchina si fa davvero corta. La Serie A infatti si vince solo con le coppe, salvo pochissime eccezioni

Io sono il primo che avrebbe esonerato Allegri a fine anno scorso, ma criticarlo quest’anno è ridicolo, la squadra sta effettivamente giocando con intenzionalità (e quella per forza arriva dall’allenatore), e il gioco si è anche fatto più guardabile. Senza contare che stiamo giocando con una panchina cortissima-quasi inesistente a centrocampo (le squalifiche di Pogba e Fagioli pesano come macigni) e in difesa, e anche i titolari sono giocatori che nessuno si aspettava performassero così (McKennie al Leeds ha fatto male e finora è probabilmente l’MVP, Cambiaso faceva panca al Bologna, Gatti ha una sola stagione in serie A e nemmeno buonissima).

Allegri's football is painful to watch. End of the story. The past two seasons were the worst I have witnessed in 40 years supporting Juventus. This season is slightly better in terms of results, many of them acquired by pure chance at the very last minute or from set pieces. Also, let's not forget that Juventus are not playing in european competitions this year.

Allegri is a disgrace for the sport. It's because of defensive managers like him that Serie A has become so garbage. As a Juve fan it's a torture watching our games, getting dominated even by newly promoted teams. It's disgusting
