We all know that didn't happen, I think in the show they made this scene because Matthew wasn't into religion or God and Jesus was trying to kind of teaching him about the ministry, Jesus surly knew he didn't need Matthew's help he knew exactly what he was going to say and he didn't need to prepare for the sermon, it's only a show but I love the Chosen. Thank you.

I love this scene! I think it's beautiful how HE talked about all the different people and their circumstances, and it blew my mind when HE said it's like a map. I had never thought of that sermon as a map to help find HIM... but it is. ❤️🙌 Thanks for sharing this! 😊

One of my favourite scene 🤩 I love that you showed that Jesus is not some ignorant person who didn’t take any opinion because of His greatness, but a person who cares for those who want to be heard, and he care that much so they would feel themselves appreciated and useful in the group. Thanks again that you showed the real spirit of Jesus, even if there are some who really didn’t get this scene. And thank you that Matthew asked questions and showed his opinion, because that was me, I asked the same questions for my whole life and they were answered in this scene. That very scene helped me to return to the bible and read it with piece🙏🏻

1 Corinthians 4:6 says not to think beyond what is written. I also can't believe they had Jesus say good luck. Also I will add that I can't believe they had Jesus get Matthew's opinion on the sermon on the Mount Jesus needed no preparation. He is Lord and King!

They are not brought to Christ by this show! If anyone turns to GOD it is because HE does the calling, this show is a blasphemous mockery of Jesus Christ the Apostles and the Bible!

As a pastor and missionary for over 40 years, I find it incredible that this series is actually portraying Jesus having to collaborate with Matthew to get The Sermon On The Mount written. I get it when films try to pry into things that might have happened that aren't recorded in Scripture and what they might have been like. But this scene goes way too far. It would have never happened. In it we actually see Matthew "correct" Jesus and tell him to change his "opening" of the sermon and Jesus agrees. The Son Of God would never have had to ask such things and would never have asked for pre approval of his sermon. It is just a bridge too far.

Perhaps it was a beautiful example of Christ's grace, giving Matthew an opportunity to use his strengths and to help him understand better the teachings of the Savior in a very intimate setting that was tailor made for Matthew and couldn't have happened with the others around?

It also demonstrates Jesus' humility and humanity. Perhaps he didn't "need" to practice or collaborate, but He had no problems condescending to Matthew's level to lift him up.

I think it very well could have happened. Not because Jesus needed an editor but Matthew learned a deeper message. I remember when I was younger, having trouble with math problems. My dad would have me say it out loud and explain what I was doing. Not because he needed me to but because it was a teaching moment for me.

@@JessicaHumrichMommyEnvy I hear you. Yet in the show, Jesus actually agrees with Matthew's criticim about His opening being wrong and says He should change it. If that is right, Jesus Who Is Perfect, chose the wrong opening in the first place and Matthew had to correct The Messiah concering the most famous sermon in Scripture. That seems a bit off the track.

This scene is nonsense. Do you really think that the Lord needs the advices of a common mortal man? What we can see in this scene absolutely does not come from the Holy Bible. The Lord did not need to prepare a sermon. He was not a manager of our times, as you are mister John.

The show says it’s not 100% biblical. Consider the story of Abraham and God when God asked Abraham about destroying the city of Sodom and Gomorrah. God can do as he pleases and doesn’t have to ask man to validate his actions that is true. The lesson here though is God knew Lot who was a righteous man was living in those cities. Therefore by God coming to Abraham and discussing his plans, Abraham was able to plead with God to not destroy the cities if just one single righteous person lived there. Lot was saved through the prayer from Abraham that God would save him and his family. Those who reside in the Lord are no longer called servants but friends. For a friend knows his masters plan, but a servant does not.

He didn’t need any of them, but He wanted them to be with him. Imagine you have a child and him/her wanted to help you on your cooking or cleaning: of course you won’t need 3 years old child’s help, but will you shout at him “how dare, do you know who I am” 😅, or you will pretend that child did a great job?

This is the most insulting and ridiculous scene ever made in the history of film! How dare they lower the Son of GOD to an insecure and unsure man Who has to run lines GOD gave Him the Sermon on the Mount! He is GOD in the flesh! What in the world is wrong with people? I know, they don’t want Jesus Christ to be the infallible GOD because they love their sin and want an excuse to stay in, well if you stay in your sin guess what? You’re going to hell! Don’t let anyone tell you any different. Jesus Christ came to set us free from our sin and He does that when we die to ourself and this world and ask Him to live in us and be our Lord. Alleluia! Praise Jesus forever and ever! 🙌🏼✝️💗

Ahhhh here we are with science. Do you know where science originates? Science originates with a question. We ask a question of God and we test using the scientific method. Without the question there is no God. Without God there is no question. So without question there is God. With question there is also God. Logic and spirit are not mutually exclusive. We use logic to explain the spirit. The spirit does not use logic to explain itself. This is a question of conscious. The most powerful word in any language is belief. Faith is a close second. But you must believe in order to have faith. We test our earthly realm. We have progressed scientifically and technologically. However as a people we have not progressed spiritually. Why? Why is this so? We haven’t progressed because there is no belief. Despite the evidence that lay before us. We would not have science if we didn’t question God. This is the root. The understanding and the agreement. So question. This is natural of the spirit. The electromagnetic force of our verse. For those who know and believe do not think better of themselves they know. It is past belief and into faith. The leap a thing of the past as one narrows his or her path.
