Teaching THOMAS HEATON a different style of PHOTOGRAPHY

A month or two back I cheekily invited Thomas Heaton to join me in abandoning his tripod and to learn some basics about intentional camera movement (ICM) photography, to my surprise he said yes!

Excellent, Andy. It was actually, actually, really fun to watch (wink). The shots at 3:52 and 8:58 were just stunning. And the series from 6:43 through 7:54 were simply jaw dropping. Will you please do a video where you show us that more graphical style? And Mr. Heaton filming himself wiggling his camera with another camera in his mouth was hysterical (and a bit of a trade secret, I suspect). "Now, if this doesn't get clicks, I don't know what will..." LOL See you Tuesday evening!

Even more representational than before but still great shots. I've never had a problem with shooting at midday, you shoot the light you're given. Having said that I spent two hours at a local secret glen this week and didn't take a single shot as I think the light will be better in the autumn. Felt slightly creeped out as its a very out of the way site, about to take a keeper shot and walked away from it, only to find out on the internet the following day that supposedly two people were buried there, far away from consecrated ground..... Whose that T.H. guy? I've seen him somewhere before!

Oh creepy! Spill the details. Sounds like fascinating reading 😃 I was doing a 121 on Lindisfarne the other day and the archaeologists were digging. Peer over the side of the trench and 3 skeletons! Fascinating! (but also - I was standing there like 2 months ago WTF!) 😂

Looking for a waterfall called The Hole of Sneith (sounds like something from Harry Potter). The OS map is a bit vague on its location so I decided a bit of on site exploration was required. I came across a massive Beech tree growing out of an overhanging crag in a dappled sma' glen. I lined up the shot, looked at it, looked at the sun falling over my shoulder through the canopy; something told me to leave it, can't think why...it was a banker but I was getting creeped out by the place and wanted out. The following day, disappointed with myself, and not having found the waterfall, I went back to the internet and different mapping sites, including the British Geological Survey, which includes a variety of maps, only to find the crag I was at was called Henrietta's Grave. An 18th Century servant girl committed suicide and was buried there along with a black man -unnamed- (presumably neither were welcome in the local kirkyard). Beyond that the story is lost in the mists of time. I will go back, when I've built up the courage!

There are a few on my channel that include a few tips and theories on the capture side of stuff, then on the processing there are my weekly live streams where I edit these images start to finish.
