TEACHING JAM TO NOT RUSH HER FENCES ~ Vlogmas #7

This is a very different vlog to what I normally post. It is a very honest and unedited insight into a training session where I am trying to work through an issue with a young horse, or any horse for that matter. Let me know if this is something that you guys like or whether you would rather I just did more generic jumping vlogs.
I was working with the lovely Muddy Mare Clothing for this vlog. Be sure to check out all of the new products they have coming out, especially the #HORSEMATES collection which donates money to RDA centres around the country. Be sure to enter the giveaway over on my Instagram channel too, this one is UK only.

I would 10000% rather watch these 'boring' vlogs over 2 foot cross poles than watch people see how fast they can gallop! It's so interesting to hear your reasons for each exercise and seeing improvements during each session, and I hope it pays off for you! 🤞

It was good to watch because apart from seeing the difference you could actually see her working it out also I have found if the riders more dominant side is the right side that seems to be the horses more supple side and same for if the rider is left handed and I would like to see what works in schooling the horses and what doesn’t because it could help other riders or show them stuff they never thought of I think riders should share hints and tips on there vlogs because it can be helpful to people having the similar issues

You should be thinking about wearing a microphone so the wind isn't "overpowering" your voice. And we can hear what you have to say. Just intended as a tip.

You should do a beginner rider series with the basics. In riding school I do get to ride different horses so I encounter different problems but any tips you have for insecure and rather inexperienced riders would be so cool :)

Thank you and it was really good btw ❤️your so patient with your horses and it really shows how patience is the key to a happy horse ! and your wisdom with horses is out of this world !!!

Great vlog! My pony gets excited after fences and tries to stick her head between her legs and give a little buck. Think I might give this a go so she learns she needs to concentrate on what’s next. Also, random question but how do you keep Jam and Dees tails so clean and unstained ?? My greys tail is horrific in comparison, even after washing its still stained yellow

Have you got any tips on horses that are too slow 😕 I don’t want to be kicking my horse the whole time cause he’ll stop reacting and I noticed u don’t use any spurs or whip😳yet your horses are always riding forward! I’ve thought of changing his diet too.. we swapped feed at one point and he was so active but now we’re back to the old one and he’s soo slow

If you do some ground work; no riding just from the ground and you teach them to move off very little pressure where you touch them and then gradually increase the pressure until they move they should learn to move off the lightest touch pretty quickly. This will teach them to move off pressure and be quicker to your leg. My one can be very slow if she's not in the mood but once we get going she gets much better. Check out Parelli stuff! Hope this helps it turned into a ramble 😂

It's a Waterford 😊 which is used for horses that lean and take hold. Meg will have just used this to help stop her from grabbing hold of the bit. Jam looking 'annoyed' is just her getting used to a new bit and trying to fight Megan. Any bit is harsh in the wrong hands! As you can see on the flat Jam is really settled and relaxed in the bit but she gets excited when jumping which is why you probably think she looks annoyed. Looking good Jam and Meg 😍

It's a very forward pony and she's training her to listen to her rider so she has to have contact the whole time. I imagine the pony is very strong and has to be kept closer. Also I don't think it's that hard lots of the time it's very loose
