Growing up like any of these children is extremely difficult, and I can say this from experience. My father beat me quite regularly for as long as I could remember. He had severe mental problems and would hurt my dog every time I tried to run away. My dog was the last gift my mom gave to me before she left to get away from my brother and my dad. My brother physically abused me as he mimicked my dad a lot. I was also sexually abused by a relative for 2 years and when I told my parents they believed I was lying. Lived like that for most of my life. I eventually found a guy (my current boyfriend) who couldn’t stand what I went through and was currently going through so he eventually took me to the police station to get me help. Police did nothing but help me grab my stuff and leave my home to go with my distant relatives temporarily. I’m 18 and am finally free from my psychotic family. I’m doing okay for myself now. I have a rented room, and even though I had to give up my dog, I reconnected with my mom a bit and my boyfriend has been my constant support. He eventually got me mental health help since I had many panic/depressive episodes and tantrums. He’s literally my saviour, the person who I admire most since he was the one who got me to this point of knowing that I can feel okay and happy. Diagnosed with PTSD, Depression and Anxiety, but I’m living my life now. I’ve never been my happiest.

There's something so messed about how we are terrified of teachers touching their students, so much so that we make it hard for teachers like in this vid to do the good work they do, when most abuse is a family member or family friend and no one seems to care much about that. I know a girl who fled that kind of treatment to live with a teacher briefly; very illegal, and no, he never touched her, but it's a shame that man had to choose between risking his entire career or leaving that poor girl to go back and get raped by her uncle again. What a goddamn choice.

The person that gave the child the computer should try it again, but make the mother sign a paper basically stating that the computer is school property and that you are just loaning it, while telling the child in private that he/she can keep it when the school year ends. Place physical stickers on the computer for extra proof and authenticity. If the mother attempts to sell it like last time, the person can then file charges against her.

Enya Cereceres same. I had many mental health issues that went undiagnosed because my parents thought I was just being dramatic. I have scars that I’m stuck with for the rest of my life because of coping. The counselors constantly called my parents in, begging them to at least get me therapy. I got therapy for a few weeks (my parent constantly made a big deal out of it and made the whole experience garbage while I said nothing and never talked about it). They constantly asked the therapist about personal information that they weren’t allowed to legally disclose with my parents. Then, the therapist suggested family therapy and I never got taken back. I asked my doctor for help and my parent flat out lied and said that I used therapy “as an excuse to not do the dishes” when I never talked about it because of the constant shit I got about it. I suffered for years and almost never got help. The counselors gave me the best help they could and even had a counselor in training help counsel me and I’m so thankful for that. I suffered for years that I shouldn’t have because of my parents. My heart really goes out to anyone else who has had to deal with parents like mine. Parents who caused a lot of my mental issues in the first place, parents who think therapy is a hoax or that it doesn’t work, parents who think medication doesn’t help, and parents who think their kids are just “being dramatic”.

Well uneducated poor people can sometimes be really retarded with money. I'm not saying that everyone who's poor is bad with money, but a lot of people are poor for a good reason. A few years back my mother was visiting some friend in South America, and at some point she met some more people there (friends of her friend's family and so on) who had a very ill baby. The kid was doing badly so my mother gave them something like 300$ to pay for healthcare for the kids. The morons used the money to buy a cellphone instead. It seems like a small amount of money when you're from Switzerland and earn 90+k a year, but for them it was a lot and they had no idea how to handle it. This is why you can't just throw money at the poverty problem.

ALONE!!! And my mom called him later that day to check if everything was okay. He lied about what happened. He said he saw the whole thing but he wasn’t even in the room the whole time. He literally help us set up for the game we wanted to play and then he left. When my mom called him out on it he got all hissy. Since then the game was banned because “a parent complained” making us sound like the bad guys. I wish everyone knew what happened so he’d be fired. My first (and terrible) interaction with my son's principal and son's teacher was a nightmare. Still dreading sending him to school in a month. My son (who was 6, is now 7) had a classmate in 1st grade who was OBSESSED with him...as in would not play or look at any other kid for months. Would insult and bully my son when he talked to other kids. It was a terribly slow process, my son hated and refused to go to school because of the stress. One day this kid gives him a note that read "i want you to die now". My son quickly handed the note to the teacher, terrified. And the teacher put it on her desk and did not respond. Nothing. So my son had to tell me about the note after school. The other kid's parents refused to acknowledge their kid ever did that when the principal called them. I raised so much hell eventually the kid was switched classes. But a month from now I have to restart this fight all over again, because that psycho kid could be in his class. And again, my son just turned 7, going into 2nd grade. I will be homeschooling him if his school messes around with his safety or dignity at all this year.

I have a story: I’m not a teacher but a student. From 1st grade til 6th grade a girl I knew would always come to school with dirt all over her face and clothes. She smelt like cigarettes and liquor from where her grandparents would carelessly smoke and drink around her while her mother suffered from cancer and could never leave the hospital so that connection was never really there with her mother. Like I said the grandparents didn’t care about her as long as they were getting paid from her mom to take care of her (which they didn’t secretly) she would constantly be ignored at school for her smell and unattractiveness. One day she just disappeared, I hope she’s living better now somewhere.

I'm a student and there was a boy in my kindergarten class that I still remember. Most days he would come in crying but the teacher never did anything. The boy was mostly deaf and had hearing aids he sits next to me on the carpet and I asked him whats wrong one day. I can't quite remember what he said since it's been about 11-12 years but it went along the lines of "My mom turns my little ear buds up all the way so everything hurts my head. I sit next to you because your voice is small and doesn't hurt." (My voice has always been really high and soft and lots of people make fun of it I hate it)I asked him why he can't turn it down and tell his mom it hurts he said something like "She'll hurt me if I do" I asked him to do it the next day and hide it. He came in the next day with a bloody nose and crying really hard. He told me "She saw me touch them and hit me alot. I didn't even get to turn it down yet." The principal was in the room and saw him crying and bloody and took him to the nurse. I didn't see him for like a month or so. (I had a major surgery so I was also out of school for 3 weeks so I don't know if he came back before then). But every day he came in happy with a man. He didn't sit next to me anymore but he seemed happy and playing with the other kids now. I didn't know what happened but it was gossip among all the parents. My mom said that the boy confessed to the nurse that the mom turned his aids up and screamed in his ears till he would cry and if the boy tried to turn them down or off or fight back the mother would beat him. I guess the father got to keep him after that and the mother went to jail. The boy had some cool blue and goldish looking hearing aids now but he did turn into a bully.

So I worked in a group with four or five other kids ( the quiet boy, the drama queen and the kid that is getting “bullied”) everyone except the boy that gets “bullied” worked hard on the project. The drama queen then tells him “get to work or you can’t be in our group” ( word for word ) he runs out to the toilet with he’s phone while crying. We all just thought that was it, then 5 minutes later the boys mom came in and and yelled at us all “IF I HEAR THAT YOU EVER BULLY MY SON AGAIN I WILL COME AFTER YOU!” ( also word for word ) I tried to say “ but we didn’t- “ and she just yelled “NO BUTS!” ( the weird kid laughed ) then the teacher said “the next time that woman comes through the door, run outside” and the both he’s parents was banned from the school ground I also have a story with he’s dad tell me if you want to hear it.. thanks for reading

I wish I had a teacher like the one who worked with the girl with spinal bifida. I'm autistic and was neglected by my parents who gave me the bare minimum and the first year I was in a sped class, i and many of my classmates would get yelled at by the teacher because of our quirks. I'm not even exaggerating. Yelling at an autistic person is a huge no no because we're sensory sensitive and hear things louder than everyone else and causes meltdowns (btw a meltdown is what happens when someone has way too much stimulus going on around them and the only way to release is through what looks like a panic attack. Meltdowns are not the same thing as tantrums!). Being in a world that debates the ethics on letting people like you live is like hell on earth, and being treated like you're worthless because of your mind by the people who were supposed to be there for you only made things worse. There is a silver lining though. I had the teacher again in my final year of high school and she was a whole lot better, helpful, and patient than before. I was right to have hope for her.
