man, i remember when i was in this class, and this is making me cry remembering this moment again,,, mr. d was truly the best teacher i could ever ask for, and this was one of my favorite memories ive ever had from elementary school,,, never change, mr. d,,, ( although this was, at the time, the most irritating thing, especially since i was one of the top spellers in the whole class,,, imagine my disappointment when i got almost all of the words wrong,,, 😂)

such a fun teacher! i bet he is one of those teahcres that his students remember years and years later. my 2nd grade teacher Mrs. Mattel. omg i still love her. she was the teacher who was like having mom at school with you all day. she noticed who was sad, who was sick, who was having troubles at home or with bullies. and she always took care of you! she wasnt afraid to hug you, to kiss your knee when u fell. asgain, just like having mom with you all day. i remember a lot of us going to her after the year was over and begging her to teach 3rd grade next year so we could have her again...RIP sweet lady. it has been a good 51 years since i saw you, smelled your perfume, tasted your double stuff marshmallow treats, and i can remember it all like it was yesterday!love you Mrs. Mattel. SC johnson school, and Beebee schools Racine Wisc.

Good work, sir. I always participated in our school's spelling bees and won a few of them... in the 80s. I remember an upset win once because most of us, me included, did not capitalize "White House." Glad you're able to have fun with your students while helping them learn.
