FINALLY!!! Thanks for going over this TV. Ive been trying to find more info/reviews of this TV and let me tell you its been difficult. Glad I found your video. Got the 50" about a month ago. Its a good tv for the price but it just feels, i dont know, unfinished? Software has its fair share of hiccups. Dolby Vision content flickers and flashes on occasion. The TCL branded apps are extremely outdated. It makes me wonder if these models were released to the market prematurely. I know its a budget TV and it really does perform well in that aspect. Im probably just being overly picky and skeptical for nothing. I do love the TV. Its just the lack of reviews literally anywhere, except here, that makes me wonder...

After my expensive Samsung QLED crapped out on me, I needed a replacement for a bedroom TV. Had my eye on this one, thanks for the info. Got the 50" for around $250, can't beat that. Tired of tossing $600+ into the garbage with these mid-range TVs that aren't built to last. At least if this one craps out in a few years, I didn't spend too much money on it.

I'm looking at that one too.......we have a 70" option up here in Canada and that's the largest tv I can mount the space I have for it. It's only 649 Canadian dollars so I don't think I can go wrong with it!

I ended up buying this exact tv for my living room & it's nice. Mine has motion control, so that was just added in the newest firmware. As Tech Steve said, it's well balanced. Colors, contrast and brightness are all in sync without being overdone & blown out. Super thin bezels and a elegant appearance. For $279, you can't go wrong. This tv has a ton of options seen in TCL's higher end models. It's a steal!!!

@@Jiggy609 I have it in my living room and it does very well. The brightness is good for an entry level model. I also had the Toshiba C350UL, and that set is brighter than this TCL, but it had worst contrast. The TCL also has more features to play with.

Hi Steve, first time seeing your videos. Came here for this review as this TV is brand new. Great overview and you hit all the features. Does this TV let you use your Apple device to AirPlay to it? I know some of the Google TVs do and some don’t but that’s specifically a feature I need as this TV checks all the other boxes for me. Also, does it have a web browser built in like the Samsung TVs do? Thanks.

The TCL is now $280 at Best Buy and the Vizio V505M-K09 is about $10 more at Walmart :) Any opinion on those two ?

Does it have blue tooth 5.0 and 2 4/5.0 WiFi?

Hi Steve, I just got this TV & do not like the remote at all. I chose this TV because I was told that the remote had a normal number panel. I paired the TV w/my cable remote so, I'm assuming that invalidates the TCL remote - is that correct? If so, then the Google features are unavailable. I couldn't figure out how to get to network stations w/TCL remote. Any suggestions? Thanks

What are your thoughts on this tv compared to the 5 Series from the previous lineup? Is the 5 series still a better tv in terms of picture quality and brightness? I picked up the S450G and I think overall the picture is great, but could be brighter and less reflective.

How’s the picture for gaming on a Xbox series X

just bought the S450G 50" and it works great with the google tv but when I switch to my bell box hooked into HDMI there is no sound and I have tried everything and can't get the sound to work. Any suggestions? I have tried the HDMI in another tv in the house and it works fine so it is not the HDMI or Bell Sat receiver.

Hey Steve how is the brightness on the TCL S450g in SDR and HDR I have a TCL 4 series from a few years ago and the SDR brightness was ok but the HDR brightness was not good at all way too dark

Hi Steve, I just got mine and I left the screen protector on for a little bit. I noticed there is a Reddish letter D in the top left. I don't want to remove the protector if I don't have to. Do you know if the plastic covers have a letter embezzled on it with a laser? If not it may be my screen,ugggh its still there when I turn tv off

I assume 50 vs 70 is the screen size. So S450G is 50 inches and S470G is 70 inches. I could be wrong though.
