This is my fav of her new album. She is not just a singer but a storyteller and each of her songs is so poetically, metaphorically, and rhythmically written that she might be the tortured poet itself struggling to tell the most poignant poem out of her talent.

I have been a devoted Patti Smith fan since I first heard her in 1975 (yes I'm old). I saw an article this morning where Patti Smith posted a thank you to Taylor Swift for mentioning her in a song, so not knowing anything by Taylor Swift I went investigating. The reference to Patti is beautiful. The lyrics of this song are beautiful and insightful and the whole thing is pure class. I can see & hear why she is so popular and will check out more of her material. Never too old to discover new music.

Hi Black Cockatoo. Start from the beginning. Just go album to album, from the start. Playback favorite songs. Fall asleep to mellow albums (play Midnights on replay all night.) Oh, im not certain of the order, but someone will probably correct me. Taylor Swift, Speak Now, Fearless. Red, 1989. Reputation, Lover. Evermore, Folklore. Midnights. Yeah, from “you belong with me”, “tear drops on my guitar”, “fifteen”, and “love story” back when I was 9-11, I learned this about Taylor swift. It’s what keeps me coming back to her music and unique style. To me, she doesn’t JUST write music, she writes stories. She writes chapters and books and novels. I know her writing is a big way she copes with life. I’m simply grateful she shares her pain, her love, her sorrow, her joy, and her experiences so people feel like their life experiences and feelings aren’t crazy. They are valid. We all go through something. She does an impeccable job of illustration emotions in her songwriting. It’s what blows me away Every. Single. Time.

Last year we had a Taylor Swift concert streaming in Indian theatres. My girlfriend really wanted to go but she couldn't. She had no one to go with from her friends. I bought tickets and we went together. She was so happy throughout the concert streaming in the theatre. She sent me a playlist of the songs which were supposed to be played. I tried to remember the lyrics of each one but I couldn't so I tried to open lyrics and song along. I can't tell how happy she was singing every song word by word and I was just looking at her. I wonder how could a writer, an artist be this detailed. I love her way of detailing all the things.

Can you genuinely show me how this is detailed? All this song is is a bunch of random moments that happened and its not even put together very well.
@dr.sunflower6336

@@NFrealmusicfan54 why do I have to show you why it is detailed? I felt that it was written like that and everything she wrote there came from her heart. Because I've been listening her for so long, I can resonate with her. And one more thing; If you think it wasn't well detailed and not well put together. Then suit yourself with that. Don't agree with me. Don't argue with me here. I don't think I have to explain people why I enjoyed and why I loved the things I loved and felt.

@@NFrealmusicfan54 and those random moments that you're talking about could either mean nothing to someone or everything to someone. The moments are random not made-up that's why it's so special to talk about. And that's why I'm loving these details.
As a man, sometimes we need songs like this as well! 💯

Patti Smith is an American singer, songwriter, poet, painter, and author whose 1975 debut album Horses made her an influential member of the New York City-based punk rock movement.
It's beautiful. With a touch of melancholy. I love how the point of the song is that it's ok for them to be idiotic together because they get each other (like nobody else does?) and so they are each other's comfort place
She's already winning Grammy for this and i think this is going to be the best album of the year i don't have words what to say... she's magic ❤

Growth. Beautiful growth and empathy from her songs of self-sabatoge to her saying "No. I understand and I know how to help with this." Thanks, Taylor.
"AND WHO'S GONNA HOLD YOU like me, AND WHOSE GONNA KNOW YOU If not me?" This hit me hard for some reason!!!

”You left your typwriter at my apartment, STRAIGHT FROM THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT” im sorry but that line is just incredable!!
the most important thing is that you create your own family, with a sweet husband, but at the same time strong and courageous, willing to do anything for you and who sees you without make-up but as you are, who has a daughter, I'm sure you will be the most wonderful mother in the world, if you'll listen to yourself.

TTPD has a surpassed Midnights to achieve the highest single-day streams for an album on the streaming platform Spotify, and marked the largest pre-order sum in the history of the retailer Target! Great stats already! 🎉
We are lucky to have such an amazing singer during our teenage days
Omg this is my fav! My favorite lyric is, “ you left your typewriter at my apartment, straight from the tortured post department. I think some things Id never say I could uses typewriters anyway.” ❤️
No one can ever convince me that THE Miss Taylor Swift isn’t so so so talented. And I will enjoy everything she ever does unapologetically 🤷♀️

The way this song is crafted and the gentle tone she sings it in is simply magical. I fell in love with it the very first time I heard it😭❤️
She's talented at saying how she feels!
The line about jack is my fav! I love Tay and jack 😭
I like Taylor Swift honestly, I love your personality. She’s not just a songwriter. She also got a big imagination. She also tells stories in her videos this is why I wanna be like her once I grow up

Album of the century!😢❤
Her genius in the line, "Who else decodes you?", when she said he left his typewriter in her apartment.
The beat of this song has the power to transport us back to the 90s a bit! She is incorporating nostalgic elements, like a typewriter, into her music. This adds a unique atmosphere to the song." "Thank you, Taylor Swift."❤
My life will never be the same after listening to this album. It will be much more beautiful 💗

Ya I just read it and came here 😊
I think this is first time Taylor is doing storytelling using so much references to tell a story. here is a summary in my opinion : two poets (artists) feel in love with each other, making fun of him and then said they are just both idiots and this love will go nowhere
I love how this song starts so much!!! All of the songs are such masterpieces!!!
