Swift currently must walk a very fine line in terms of political support, especially she very well knows what happened to the Beatles in 1966 when John Lennon made that infamous remark about Jesus Christ that came close to seriously hurting the band. That's why she did not respond publicly to the protests in order to protect her brand, one that has been very carefully crafted over the course of her career.
