That is what a horse & rider team looks like. Loose reins, a gentle touch and [likely] an encouraging voice the whole way through.

I never seen a horse run like that. That was awesome.

It is not a natural carriage for a horse. Their head is tied down until they get used to it. No horse in its natural environment would run with its head carried in such a position. Additionally these horses suffer horrific injuries to their joints. Quit perverting animals to conform to human fantasies.

@@jaspersknoll9013 I am at a professional reining barn and absolutely none of the horses there have joint injuries. Also, they carry their heads like that naturally. Maybe do some research before commenting such bullcrap.

@@Keeli_Luvz_God I am sorry, but you will never convince me reining is a useful skill....There is a lot of work that goes into it sure, but it isn't the most useful. Would much prefer to see a horse and rider working cattle, but that being said I grew up with cutting horses.

@@MrWarren1991 Reining is essentially the 'flatwork' of the Western world. All that training for those nice stops and rollbacks...? It'd increase a cutting horse's skill tenfold, same as Dressage will help a Jumper. Cross training is important for more than just keeping your horse from getting bored.

@@warriormaiden9829 Reining is also the MOST destructive thing you could do to a horse and why cutting horses are retired by 7 at the latest, just because it is "kinda useful" doesn't mean it isn't EXTREMELY hard on the horse...feel free to come at me again, these are the horses I grew up with, the ones people threw away after they blew something out reining or got retired...

Most western riders themselves dont give the horses much rein, so im happy he leaned forwards to give the horse rein, instead of yank on the face. Whenever im riding my horses sometimes i forget to give them rein

In a lot of western competitions a loose rein is a standard, like in reining or western pleasure it’s always more in form to have that loose rein. So I wouldn’t say “most western riders” I’d say there are a few, and those that are on greener horses can’t give quite as much rein.

9/10 western riders do give lots of rein as western horses are really sensitive (in a good way) so if your really tight on the reins they will not move, I've seen horses throw their head when someone went 2 handed because it was too much pressure not because the horse didn't know what to do but 2 hands increased the pressure so much!

I think the main reason I would want to be rich is just to be able to do this a lot.

I agree 100%! I'm not big into riding or horses in general, BUT, even I can see how skilled, powerful and Totally BEAUTIFUL that this horse is... It looks straight out of a Frederick Remington painting, an ancient greek bronze statue, etc...

I rode way back into the back country of Idaho one day and it started raining, storming. The horse started freaking out a little and refused to listen. It was ranch horse and knew that mountain more than i did. They were free ranged there and would wander around and return on their own. I just let the horse do what it wanted and it turned straight down the mountain, in a wash, and sat Down. It just walked its front legs a little and slid its rear legs , they way this horse is stopping, so the way straight down the mountain. I was laying down on its back and just holding on. I don't know if i was supposed to let it do that or how dangerous it was for me or it, but we came down that mountain in about a quarter of the time it was supposed to take. Previously I had thought those wash outs were just caused by rain but after that i suspect those horses were taking that short cut home anytime the were alone up there.

That guy is so fortunate to be able to do this what an amazing life.

I did other events when i had my horses but the main ranch that i got 1 if my horses from specialized in reining & they let me ride the reining horses....Holy sh*t...ut was awesome. Like turbo power steering...they would rein with 1 finger and a slight weight shift. Would do 20ft sliding stops. Super light touch... unbelievable ride. I'll never forget it 😎❤
