Been pretty good these last couple, but I would hardly call him consistent this year. He still has lost a lot to much lower ranked opponents, and lost in the 1st round of Monte Carlo not that long ago. He is still all over the board.

Those criticising Dimi, did you guys see how bad his serves were?! Left wrist definitely affected his ball toss.

Fritz has had his downs now & then but his ability to stay focused and constantly make it to Masters semis has to be applauded.

I watched the full match. It was sad to see Dimitrov being so inconsistent. He basically played without the 1st serve and was hitting slices from the backhand 80% of the time.

Fritz is moving so much better now. Faster, more fluid. More athletic. That's the scary part.

He has put together two very good masters in a row, on red clay, after an extremely disappointing effort in Monte. Hopefully this translates into his first 2nd week appearance at Roland Garros. The American men have had so little hope there since Agassi.

Dimitrov won the tie-break of the year, only to give the match on a silver platter to Fritz in the third. How disappointing.

Grigor came into game a little bit too late. He put a great effort but in the end Fritz was a better player. Much better player this time! Congratulations to both of them for such an exciting match!

So happy Fritz is playing well on clay.

Fritz has had decent showing on clay this year, especially considering hard courts may be his best surface. Dimitrov played very well on those this year, but not so much on clay...judging from the highlights, the fact that he was chipping most backhands tells me he didn't have the confidence to hit it more freely, again, like he has showed on hard surfaces this year.

Fritz is surprisingly decent on clay, most people don't realise. (Except his forehand drop shot!) Grigor may have been hampered by the left wrist injury on the backhand take-back and on the serve.

Love to see the improved consistency for Taylor, a year ago a clay court against a frequent slicer like Dimitrov would have forced a lot more errors

fritz has improved a lot over these last few years, but his game on clay has impressed me a lot, considering how much weaker he used to be on that surface. him reaching qfs of all three clay masters over the past two years was definitely not something i had on my bingo card, and i hope he can gun for at least the qfs at roland garros too, considering he almost certainly won't have a top 4 player in his draw (he's currently #12 in live ranks) until that stage.

Fritz is a solid player, still a step away from a slam. Of course if he gets a lucky draw like Félix Auger-Aliassime had last week, then anything can happen.
