Is one's scariness ultimately determined by one's physical appearance or words and actions? If you still wonder why they're named Devils, remember they were named by the first colonists when they just heard them maybe before they actually even saw them. Imagine being alone in a log cabin with no other people for hundreds of kilometers beyond you and maybe your family if you had one, suddenly in the middle of the night the forests are filled with these screams and you don't know what is making the sound.

Europe is not even a actual continent but a subcontinent of Asia like India is also one. honestly that doesn't sound as bad as the thing where the males mate/ or rape really the female non stop until the female fights back. I've heard this from somewhere and I'd be very happy to be proven wrong on this

@@usagi2934 She actually goes into a hormonal sedation, because otherwise she would rip his head off. During which he drags her off and violently rapes her until she comes out of her stupor one fine day, literally shaking with rage and attacks him. Then he knows the fun is over. Also, the females have to eventually abandon their babies because the males try to have sex with them. They are truly the psychos of the animal world and I love them. I'm happy to hear there is some hope for their survival.

It looks like holding the tail, as Danielle does, keeps a devil calm.

So they basically fight for their whole life even directly after birth. Sounds kinda sad but I guess thats the wildlife

Mr. E when I was a kid my family had a hunting cabin we would spend time at in the summer, and I was always afraid to walk into the woods where the outhouse was because of the frequent coyotes and bears. Hearing these things would have literally scared the piss out of me!! 😂

@@Benzy670 Um, that's not exactly how apex predators work. Lions in Africa, Orcas in the oceans, Grizzlies in Western Canada, Jaguars in South America, Polar bears in the arctic, tigers in India, cute wittle snuggly Mittens in 3/4s of Australia. Lol

When I was a kid, my family visited an animal reserve where I actually pet a Tasmanian Devil. This was only possible because our guide hand reared them. We also watched him feed them chunks of rabbit, fur, bone, and all. Watching them eat showed how scary they can really be.

very rare and he prob didn't have permission to do that because they're endangered but there are a few blokes I know that have done the same and its always cool to see them roaming his back yard chillin.

Should have included Looney Tunes Taz! Mel Blanc’s vocalizations of Taz was classic! One of my favorites! Actually my first and only exposure to Tasmanian Devils!

It was really interesting thank you!

Beautiful little animals. I was really lucky to get to spend a month volunteering with the Save The Tasmanian Devil Program in 2009/10. We trapped them in humane traps, lured by the scent of wallaby meant. We caught dozens of them over the month. Most of them had DFTD but a few were healthy. It was a great experience and happy to see that these little guys are still around, and to have maybe helped it a bit. Thanks for the video!

Its kinda insane that we literally have no clue how thylacine lived, hunted, reproduced etc. anything really, despite going extinct while modern zoology was around
